( Allison holds the phone back, letting Lydia break whatever it is she needs to, to Scott. A pit forms in Allison's stomach, and a lump in Scott's throat as Lydia recounts the story. )

What does - what does that mean, if he died after - being given vampire blood?

( There's more, isn't there? Then just, he's dead. His entire demeanor changes, smile to hearing the worst thing he ever has. Not being there. He's already decided, he's chartering the Argent jet after this conversation. He will be coming back to Mystic Falls.

"Stiles is in transition, now. Isn't he?," Allison asks.

"He hasn't woken up yet," Jackson says. )

Caroline - the vampire who gave him blood - says that once he wakes up, they'll explain his options. He'll either have to drink human blood to complete the transition, or he'll die.

[Lydia swallows hard.]

If he does decide to be a vampire, she'll teach him what he needs to know. She's ... trustworthy. If he does turn, I think he'll be okay. But if he doesn't choose being a vampire, he's only going to have so much time.

[matriarchate]

( Allison doesn't react, doesn't let her pain show through. This is Scott's to feel. Whatever he needs, she'll be there for him.

"We're coming. Right?" he asks, looking at Allison.

He lets emotion pull at the corners of her eyes as she nods. )

Yeah. We can be there in the morning.

( Or, soon, she - can see when they can be there. )

( Scott looks like he's trying to process it, like he could never be ready to believe his best friend of all time is in this place. Or, that he died. And has to decide if he wants his life to change forever. )

( He draws in a breath.

"Don't let him decide until I get there. Please."

Allison watches as he ducks off the screen and sits back on the chair across from her. )

You're okay? You guys, you weren't hurt? What's being done about Derek?

Okay. I'll make sure he knows you're coming.

[And she'll move on to them because that seems easier.]

I'm okay. Caroline gave me vampire blood too, but it should be out of my system in a day or so. And Derek ...

[She trails off and looks to Jackson, because what is being done about Derek? She hadn't had a chance to ask.]

( With vampire blood in your system...

"Alexander Abernathy did a locator spell. Derek's being handled." )

Do you need back-up? Should Scott and me bring anyone else with us?

You should probably at least tell Cora what's going on.

[It's her brother after all, she would want to know.]

And I'm safe. I'm in a hospital loaded with witches and vampires and the Winchesters. Plus gauging by who's not here, I don't think this particular cell of hunters is going to be a problem for much longer.

[Between Stefan, Damon and Hayley, a bunch of people are about to get very dead.]

[Lydia glances to Jackson again, because she's also curious about that.]

[Lydia nods.]

So now we just have to keep the Winchesters from killing Stiles for existing while being a vampire and everything should be fine.

[That's mostly cranky sarcasm, she's had a very long night.]

( She's SJP in Failure to Launch. "That's not happening." It's evident to Lydia and Jackson that the Winchesters are going to receive their own call. Allison has more than one to make now. )

Other than that, you have everything under control.

[She's up, but she knows that question isn't a simple one. Allison isn't texting her for a booty call.]

[Sam sees this text and knows he's in trouble. But he swallows hard and steps around the corner to press the phone to his ear as he calls.]

Why does Lydia think you and Dean are going to kill Stiles?

( She doesn't accuse him. She doesn't mention Scott, her ex's best friend. She just gets right to the point. )

Because Dean said that if Stiles decided to turn and went off the deep end, we would be there to stop him. Vampires ... are kind of a sore spot for us and he was upset about a friend of his who was also hurt in the wreck.

I'm sorry if his friend is dead, or hurt, but Stiles is family. Not just Scott's family. My family. Dean needs to know that if he's threatening Stiles, it's not just Lydia there. It's our army. Should I be worried? Is Dean just another hunter?
