Yeah, yeah.

[He gets to his feet, making his way to the door of Ezra's office. When he opens the door, it's not the hallway of the hospital, but another elevator, that will take him back to Pearson Specter.]

Your chariot awaits.

( Just. Intimidating. Glaring. And then he's out, leaving two people who love each other but haven't seen each other in person in days. )

That - went better than we could have hoped.

I'm certainly not complaining.

[He makes his way back around the desk again, before moving in closer.]

[Something a little softer, now that Harvey really isn't within eavesdropping range.]

( David's earned the kiss Ezra's been waiting to give him, away from Harvey and the rest of the hospital. Before he turns too lascivious, he pulls back, not letting go of him, nor steeping away. )

( Leaning past him, he checks the clock on his desk, never mind his Applewatch. )

Technically, ten minutes ago.

Then why don't I go pick up some dinner and meet you back at your place.

[He smirks.]

And we can further "discuss" where things are going to go there.

( Dinner they'll heat up in the oven again later, he assumes. )

Alright. I'll clock out, shower, change. Put my best foot forward. I hear there's a new boss I need to make a good impression with.

( But, fine, he can slither out from beneath his husband so he can get things together.

Logging out, he grabs his back and slings one loop over his shoulder before coming over and kissing him again. )

Avoid Elena's floor.

( After dropping by the nurse's station and gathering the clothes he's not going to change back into from his locker, he can't get to his car fast enough, not after that close shave. He drives home and parks his car far enough up the driveway in case his husband brings one home. (Being a witch and all.)

He thoroughly showers, does his hair, and changes into something pretty sleek and form-fitting, knowing that he will probably not be wearing it long enough for it to matter.

But, it does.

David has his own key if he wants to use it. Two tapered candles are lit on the dining room table and he is mid pour of two glasses of a deep Merlot. )

[The food he picks up is just basics from the grill, so by the time he arrives and lets himself in, he feels a little underprepared.

He didn't think they would ... actually be having dinner, but he can go with it.]

Wow.

[He makes his way inside, closing the door behind him as he eyes the table.]

This is nice.

( They're not going to have dinner. Well, not right then.

He takes the bags out of David's hands, sets them on the table and it's go-time. He just wanted to look this good before doing it. He doesn't even make it to the bedroom. He doesn't need to.

Later, in boxers and an open button down, Ezra preheats the oven. )

How was my second first impression, boss?

[He laughs as he comes up behind him, pressing a kiss to his neck.]

Very favorable. I think we're going to make a very impressive team.

[Being on guard the way he needs to be with Harvey is always a hard switch to flip, but he's starting to get there, feeling some of the tension melt from his shoulders.]

( The laughter is ... not expected, but his husband's laughter, his anything, is better than anything else. Even though... maybe he didn't expect after sex laughter. But, laughter is a part of sex. It's fine, it's fine. )

Mmm, we always have. We've just been more about the dividing than the conquering.

( Spending so much time away from one another. He's already going to get too used to this. He knows it. )

Have you thought about our Elena problem?

[It's not derisive laughter. It's just hard for him, sometimes, to go from one space, which is in a loving space with husband, to the work space, where everything could be used against him.

And he thought it was a joke. It felt like a joke? If he read it wrong, then that's his bad.]

I think we should wait and see what she knows or has figured out. She knows you're a witch now, maybe that'll get you in closer.

( Jokingly, he presses back into his husband. )

[He snorts, before moving around so that he can look him in the eye as he smirks.]

I still think saying I'm a twin is a viable option.

( He seems serious. That - it's not that it isn't a bad idea. It's not. People have twins. )

[He shrugs.]

It's the shortest point between A and B. And way simpler than me having to put on a different face every time I see her.

You have a twin. He works for the county. I work for the hospital. Why are you in California while your twin brother lives closer to me? Coincidence? I can't pick which hospital gets me.

( He did. But, Elena doesn't know this. )

Maybe he was already out here, you got picked here and were getting us settled, and then I got tied up in work. Had to do a lot of traveling.

[He was coming, he was just taking his sweet time getting there. Also true to form.]

Which you do. For now that'll work. I'll see her tomorrow, then. Suss out what exactly she knows or doesn't. Under the guise of her friend and colleague checking in on her.

( He'll bring a bottle of wine, too. )
