[He's underselling it, clearly. He could keep playing coy, but if there's one thing he's learned, sometimes it's worth it to just go for it.]
But if I'm completely honest, I might have brought it up to her
because
I knew she would want us to be friends.
[And spending more time with her seemed like a much better idea than not.]
