[Nothing that indicates pie at the outset. There is a number of deep fried options if he'd like to trade them out. Zeppolis, funnel cake, ice cream -- choose your poison. Sam's not really doing much better, even with his extra height (8).]

( Dean did just eat his weight and then some in carbs, including funnel cake. He grunts, shrugging. )

I'll shake off being a sore winner if you eat a churro in one bite.

[Because on the one hand really? but ... he could probably do it, if Dean really wanted to push him.]

( He places Sam in front of the churro cart, slapping him on the back. )

[Sam rolls his eyes, before ordering himself a churro. If Dean wants one, he's going to have to buy his own. But after studying it for a minute, he breaks it in half and attempts to shove it in his face hole.

And then promptly chokes on it when a chunk of churro goes down the wrong pipe (9).]

( he does buy Sam a bottle of water at least, for his efforts. and he uncaps it, setting it down in front of him, grinning. )

She and Isaac haven't seen each other in a long time, so they're catching up.

( Look, he carries the 'old friend' weight in, like, seven states. )

Lot to catch up on, then, according to Jack and Cas. Even though they left the nephilim on the outside. Heard everything third hand.

And I think from what I understand, the witches were looking to keep Jack safe, which ... in some ways I'm glad for.

Jack is more powerful than ten witches. But, I can't say I hate the idea of him being left out of the fray for once.

( Calling him in for Elena, that was too much. But, it also needed to happen. )

He check in with you when he came back?

[Sam nods.]

He gave me the full photo tour on his phone. I think he had a good time, even with everything else that was going down.

He was left out. Good times happen when you're left out and not born a Winchester.

( Even though Jack kind of was. )

I should check in with Cas, see what his next move is. What's -- ours?

[Sam shrugs.]

Things with you and Elena seem to still be going good. Do we need to have a move right now?

We never need to move, Sam.

( Except when they were fugitives, and on the trail of their father, demons, Jack's mother, Cas... )

I think the Men of Letters bunker sat unused for decades, what's another few weeks.

[He nods. Good. Because Dean actually seems happy, and Sam doesn't want to interrupt that. Never mind the fact that Sam is actually happy too.]

I think in terms of next moves we should probably be asking Jack what he wants to do. Whether he wants to go to school or something.

And if he does, if he leaves Cas' nest?

( Their nest? How do they take it. How do they not worry. It's one thing to leave him on his own over a weekend, or under the Salvatore School's (minimal) supervision. But, he has to, eventually. Dean also knows that. )

Then it's good. He's going to learn how to be an adult on his own. And it's not like we'll never see him again.

[It's not going to be the same situation it was for John and Sam. If Jack wants to go, they'll let him. And they'll be there, ready for him when he's ready to come home.]

I worry for the kid, Sammy.

( Don't talk to him about how hard it was for him with Jack going undercover. )

I know you do. I do too. But we can't protect him from everything. At some point, he needs to have his own life because we're not going to be around forever either. We don't know how long he's going to live.

[However, in the midst of this intense heart to heart with his brother, something is afoot.
