( Supernaturally on the run - technically. ... Check. )
Fine, but I reserve the right to brag about you. That's my final offer.

[He would be disappointed if she didn't. He shifts closer, getting ready to lean in to kiss her, when there's a crash somewhere in the hallway. Followed by:
"Oh, fuck me."]
no subject
Sounds like they're having a day. )
no subject
She stops in front of the open door, checking the door number, then the piece of paper in her hand, then back up at the two people inside.]
Hi.
[She awkwardly leans against the doorframe with a smile.]
Is this like condo rules? Like everything from the doors in is our responsibility, or are we just paying for everything?
no subject
( And leave it to Lizzie to push past Alice, or brush past anyway, to check out said damage. She turns back and points her thumb behind her. )
Looks like Salvatore School caliber damage. ( Maybe she'll fit in after all. ) You're Alice Earp?
no subject
[A beat.]
Actually, it doesn't, it says Alice Gibson. It's kind of a long story.
[Another beat.]
That's not important. I'm Alice. You must be Lizzie.
[She glances over at Danny.]
Unless you're Lizzie. But that would be weird, having a coed dorm room, so I'm just going to ... shut my mouth now. Hi.
no subject
Eh. )
I'm Lizzie. Saltzman. Not as long a story, my father's last name is Saltzman. That's Danny. Did you change your last name?
( Lizzie remembers going through that phase. She could be Lizzie Laughlin, really ride out the alliteration. Give Josie the space she needed to be her own person. Get away from her father doting on Hope Mikaelson. But, they've all grown out of that. )
no subject
[She pauses, dragging her trunk in the rest of the way to the room.]
But when I moved back to Purgatory, there was no getting around that I was an Earp, so I switched back.
no subject
( Tell her it's not Limbo. Tell her Alice hasn't climbed out of Landon's final "resting" place. That is, the guy who provides the tickets to ride.
Look, super sore subject for all Salvatore students. )
no subject
[Because they're the most creative.]
It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. What about you guys? Are you from the city?
no subject
Danny's from England and I'm from a small town in Virginia. But you'd be right in thinking I have a worldly sensibility.
( Say what you want about the Saltzmans, but trips to Switzerland and South America have shaped them. Yes, they always returned to school, but eventually it stopped being home. Especially when Josie transferred to Mystic Falls. And her dad laid in a hospital bed on the verge of death. It's funny what friends can get through when the stakes are that life or death. )
no subject
[There's a brief pause as she trips up on what exactly to call Rebekah, but in the end she just goes with:]
My dad's wife is also from a small Virginia town. Well ... I think she's kind of from everywhere. Her family traveled a lot. But that's where she originated.
[She shrugs.]
But there are probably a lot of small towns in Virginia, right?
no subject
( And she's speaking from experience, Alice. )
Interesting coincidence. ( Boring one, but she and Danny deserve boring, right? Not that Alice is boring. She's -- frenetic and clumsy and kind of reminds her of a cross between Landon and MG (but from freshman year). ) So is your dad and the rest of your family back in Montanada?
( She makes a face. She tried. She hates the combo name. 0/5 stars. )
no subject
[Then something Lizzie says catches up with her and she looks up from the trunk she's slowly unpacking and turns to face the other girl.]
I'm sorry, did you say Mystic Falls?
[Earps don't generally believe in coincidences, mostly because they're usually not good.]
no subject
( They ask at almost the same time. )
K-A-H - Rebekah? Your dad is --
( An actually interesting coincidence. )
no subject
[Small fucking world.]
Do you like actually know her? Or do you just know of her because she used to be an older-than-dirt vampire?
no subject
( So, she hasn't met her, but yes. She knows her. Of. Same difference. )
Hope hid her parentage for, like, most of our childhood so her family skipped parents weekend until graduation. High school graduation. ( And every weekend for Lizzie was parents' weekend. ) Danny, her father is Doc Holliday, a formerly immortal cowboy and his wife is Rebekah Mikaelson. Hope's aunt. ...How'd you get assigned to this room?
no subject
[She didn't do anything special when it came to picking a roommate, but she does go to close the door.]
But if you guys know all about the oogly boogly things that go bump in the night that means we can speak kinda freely, right? And you won't think it weird if I like ... salt the doors in and windows in case of demons?
[Look, she's an Earp, even with the curse broken, her mom is still a badass demon hunter.]
no subject
( Salt's very hunter. Semi-witchly, but not when it comes to entrances and exits unless they pertain to certain creatures. )
no subject
["The Earp Curse. That was a nasty one." Yes, Danny's been paying attention to the conversation, the girls just seemed to have it well in hand. Alice blinks at him in surprise, and he shrugs. "I liked Westerns."
But more to the point: "A demon took over a town called Purgatory and Wyatt Earp, the lawman came. They say that he was gifted with a magical gun that could kill anything and when he killed Bulsharr the demon cursed him that all of his past enemies would--"]
Rise up as revenants on the twenty-seventh birthday of each of his descendants. Yeah, nasty. Thankfully, my mom broke it so I'm free and clear. But given that she's the last Heir, she gets to keep the fancy gun.
no subject
( Her (13) has her not dozing off over her studies but it doesn't stick in her mind. She does know the concept. )
So, your dad's like -- hundreds of years old.
no subject
Hundred ... and seventy-five, but he has not hit double centuries yet, so let's not rush him.
[It's semantics but they're important semantics.]
It's bad enough he still talks like he's from the eighteen-eighties.
no subject
That kind of habit is hard to break. You think you like the Cinderella chivalry, but it's always antiquated ( and one time, very violating! )
no subject
He's come a long way, but I also don't really know him that well. That's part of why I'm going to school here, where he lives. My half of making an effort, I guess.
[A beat.]
Oh, since you guys are in on the supernatural stuff, in case of demon, the weapons are under my bed.
[She flips up the false bottom on the trunk, and reveals a number of weapons that she's definitely not allowed to have in the dorm.]
no subject
( She removes her bracelet Danny enchanted, holding it up. )
I'm hanging it here and - if you want to use it, you just hang it on that handle and voila, giant closet. Maybe we could convert it into an armory.
