He was pretty badly beaten. We tried to get him to a hospital but the hunters t-boned them on the way there.

[She glances briefly at him, because she shouldn't be the one giving him this news. But she has to if she wants to give him a choice.]

He had vampire blood in his system, but he died in the attack. If you want, I can take you to the hospital where they're waiting for him to wake up, but I don't know if there'll be much you can do until he does. Lydia and Jackson are with him.

And if you don't take me to the hospital?

( Damon's, he remembers. He owes a message to Scott. He also needs a new phone. )
