( the salvatore school's senior year walks their processional, taking their seats at the front. there are speeches made by the mayor, by stefan salvatore as one of the namesakes of the salvatore school, and lizzie saltzman.

it is not interminably long, but there are performances. there's a string quartet. a choir.

it's an event.

it's the perfect time for small, quiet exchanges or hidden messages sent to one another. or, perhaps, it's a time for reflection and looking to the future. )

[This is probably not the best time. He can't remember what time the ceremony was happening or when Ric might be doing things but Ric is the only contact he has, so he sends the message and hopes it gets where it needs to go.]

The Colony has witches at the hospital. Powerful ones.

( Alaric's cell is on silent, but still buzzing. Considering the possible threats, he does carefully slip it out of his pocket. He looks to Jo, sets a hand on hers and leans in. )

Any reason why high level members of the Colony coven are in Mystic Falls hospital?

[Well. Jo could think of one big reason, but there's no reason to assume the worst until they know more specifically who is making an appearance.]

( He smiles out to the crowd, crossing one leg over the other, balancing his ankle on his thigh as he holds his phone underneath his leg. Conspicuous? Maybe. )

David Gainor and Harvey Specter. Gainor is one of the coven heirs and Specter is clean up.

Do we have intel if the Colony is working in line with the hunters?

They wouldn't. Not unless the goal was to take out a rival coven, but the hunters wouldn't make it past that.

[Alexander pauses because he doesn't want to have to say it but:]

I'm willing to bet that they're here for the doppelganger.

( He looks at Jo, and then back out to the crowd, to the vampires and werewolves listening. )

One of my witch contacts believes Elena may be in danger.

[Caroline's eyes widen, but other than that, she tries not to give away much. Members of the student body's eyebrows begin to rise, concern crossing some of their features.

Klaus and Hayley exchange a look, like the day isn't over before the doppelganger is in trouble, again, but Cami leans over and gives Klaus' hand a squeeze.]

[She can at least go and chat with some witches, and Hope's parents don't have to miss any of the graduation. She slides off the end of the row before making her way discretely to the back.]

Anyone else want to take a ride to the hospital?

( Scott makes his move first, past Dean. When he makes a face, Scott tells him Elena Gilbert may be in danger. Dean's eyes widen and he looks back at the ceremony. He's made bigger sacrifices. )

Hey, I have this. Watch your son graduate.

( Dean lowers himself back down, looking across to Sam, when Scott looks to Allison. She moves to rise but he shakes his head. Quickly he joins Cami at the back. )

Let's go. ...Scott. McCall. With the Argents. ( But, also, of the McCall pack if she's heard of him. The Argents just have point on Mystic Falls. )

[They also touched back in NOLA, so yes, she is familiar with the Argents.]

Elena's met you, right? Because with me it's one of those situations where we're aware of each other, but we haven't actually met.

Yeah, she's met me. My friend is Stiles, he was the one in the car. Mikaelson's, like Freya. And Klaus.

( Isn't he there, too? At graduation? He follows Cami back through the Lockwood mansion onto the property and to the parked cars. )

Yep. That's them. Klaus and Hayley have been pulling hunter duty since they got here. I figured the least I could do is tag in so they can watch their daughter graduate.

[She follows with him, checking her purse to see how much cash she has on hand.]

We should stop for flowers at the gift shop or something. Some kind of get well ruse.

What would we be cleansing? Any 'keep out' rituals or should we get Elena out of there before the day is over?

I don't know, man. These guys are messy. If they're sending Harvey Specter in to deal with something, someone fucked up.

Someone adjacent to Elena?

Probably. Knowing these creeps, I wouldn't be surprised if they kept someone close to make sure that the doppelganger lived long enough to produce future doppelgangers.

You're saying Elena could have a plant in her life.

That would be my guess.

Probably around when the fact that there was a doppelganger around went public.

Elena's friendly, but she's not exactly Ms. Popular. I know everyone she does since high school. I taught the students around here and other than a bored Original, I didn't see anyone in plain sight.

Cami and Scott are with Elena. She's alive.
