[Which feels a little weird, but she's not Hayley if she's not leaning on the nicknames for her werewolf friends.

( Maybe she just wanted some time with her mom. She's only 18. She still wants mom, time. )

Not rethinking it. Just wishing that Mystic Falls could be less predictable.

Well, I'll be gone by the end of the week. You're sure you're fine with me storing my stuff at the Abattoir in the meantime? Just until we get back from our trip.

( She knows when her mom says something, and her dad, but still she asks. She lies about how she feels all the time. No wonder she needs to ask more than once. )

[She gives her daughter a small, amused look.]

The Abattoir is still your house. You have a room there and everything. We're not going to kick you out just because you graduated.

I didn't think you would kick me out. New Orleans will always be my home. I think, with the Salvatore School and -- the months I spent not existing... sometimes, it's hard to believe that I do have one. I have you and dad. And Josie.

I'm really lucky, mom. And, if I never said it, thank you. Thank you for everything.

[She slides her arms around Hope's shoulders and pulls her in closer.]

You always have a place with us. Nothing will change that, not even Malivore.

It did. For a few months, it did. I don't think I ever apologized to you for doing that. I just -- collapsed into yours and Freya's arms.

[Hayley's not going to lie and say it didn't hurt. It hurt that she forgot her daughter, that she fell back on old habits that she had set aside when she had her.

But she remembers her now. That's what matters.]
