So you let Derek go off alone to teach me the art of not drinking someone to the last drop. Gotta say, Cora, you pulled your own short straw.

( He doesn't head back into his room, yet, lingering in the doorway. This is his thank you, for the record. He's not good at it. Not unless you're Scott or it's life or death. Maybe for Stiles it will be.

(It was. It still is. It's possible he's still processing dying.)

He hasn't let it sink in fully. Not to mention the 'getting older, watch everything else die' thing. Though, werewolves last way past their sell by date? He's still trying not to think about any of it, without realizing it anyway.

[Or something. But she shrugs. The way she thinks about it, Derek doesn't really need her. Malia will get him to Freya, and she'll make sure Freya follows through. She trusts her cousin to do that, and not take advantage of him.

It's nice, having someone else she can trust with Derek.]

He won't be alone. He'll have Malia, and she's made further inroads with the New Orleans packs than I have.

[Well ... fair. If she seems offended by the comment she doesn't show it. But the subject change makes her blink.

[That's a lie, she was more of an outdoors kid but her friends had Nintendo, when she was young enough and capable of having friends. Before the fire changed everything.]

Right now, I'm just scrolling through Netflix. You were never a TV person, were you?

I like movies.

[She isn't really the binge-watching type, because she will fall asleep if the setting is right and she's bored enough, but she can handle watching a movie with someone.]

You -- wanna find a movie? Your pick. Scott's doing teacher stuff with Caroline.

( Whatever that means. Probably just means talking about what goes into teaching at the school. )

[She's still exhausted, but she could hang out with Stiles into Scott gets back.]

Can't go wrong with SciFi. But, it's your pick. I'll watch anything. It'll be good to focus on something.

( Or try really, really hard. )

[She nods before making her way in and reaching for the remote. She can handle scifi if it's got some action and explosions in it, so she'll find something that fits the bill.

Oh hey look, there's one of the new Star Trek films.]

( Hell yes. He loves the one with three Kirks because there is nothing better than Original flavor new Kirk and new-new Kirk sharing the screen with mirror Kirk. Some people think it's hard to follow but they just don't know the Trek universe.

He has -- a bed. And there's a desk chair and he - decides to sit on the desk chair, kicking a foot up on the desk. )

[And that just leaves the bed for Cora which is fine. She can totally sit on this very comfortable bed and stay awake to watch this movie.







She falls asleep a half hour in.

It's really not personal, Stiles, it's just been a long weekend.]

( He lays a blanket over her and turns the volume down before toggling the captions on. He texts Scott for the next hour and a half anyway. But, this is nice. It is hard to follow Star Trek sometimes, especially when the mirror verse is involved. He doesn't blame her! )
