( bad news doesn't travel as fast as ezra's husband, so anything tragic hasn't traveled across the pond. it's the end of ezra's shift. he heads back into his office to square away the last of his patient notes before grabbing a drink with elena. with their schedules conflicting, they'd had it on the books for weeks. he plays at being busy when she wants him to join her for town events. some, he makes, but for the most part, he tries to stay under the radar. especially when he's tailing her. but tonight, tonight's a part of his cover.
and, maybe, there's this real friendship forming between them.
maybe, tonight he'll admit it's not always easy to be far away from the husband she questions him having. he's invisible. is he real? he lives in canada, doesn't he? no. he travels, ezra tells her.
but their lives aren't easy, and he worries for as crafty as david is, his work is dangerous.
he's at the light switch, flicking it off, hand on his door handle. )

[The moment her phone rings, she answers. Probably mid-sentence on the lecture William is gearing up for. There's a quick "It's Faith" by way of explanation, before she moves into another part of the room, trying for some semblance of privacy.]
Hey. You okay?
Hey. You okay?
[So Bonnie may have been a little right about him trying to handle it on his own. But maybe only a little.
He knew that he needed to do it his way, however. If they handled it the Bonnie way, there was less of a chance of them all making it out alive. The hunters had been prepared for the magic of Glinda the Good - they weren't prepared for someone like him, to their detriment.
This isn't to say that the hunters didn't get their licks in, however. In addition to the gunshot wound in his shoulder, Ezra's husband is also now sporting a nasty knife wound to the gut and few broken ribs, but he's still standing when they're not. He doesn't hesitate to find the nearest doorway, channeling the last of his focus and energy on his husband's office.
As Ezra reaches for the door handle, it opens and his bloody husband stumbles into him. It's not intentional, but now that Ezra is making himself a roadblock, David hopes his husband is going to catch him.]

[The spell lifts and Isaac doesn't feel comfortable leaving Bonnie alone. Not until they both see that Eliza and Danny are safe. He escorts them back to Eliza's, closing the curtains once they're inside and shutting the door, just so people can't peer inside so easily.
Doesn't guarantee that a hunter won't opt to break down the door at some point, but they'll be safe from attacks of opportunity.
And once that's done, he looks her over, just to be sure.]
You're not hurt, right?
[Says he who is still bloody from the two gunshots he took earlier, even if the wounds have healed.]

Where is she?
[Arriving back at base, he's already gearing for the leadership. Monroe had been here before this mess had started, but he didn't know where she was now. But safe to say, he was pissed.
He had a shitty fucking night, and he was ready to yell at the people up the chain who were responsible.
He can see his father scowling as he storms past him, but Coop is past the point of caring. He wants answers for what happened tonight and he wants them now.]

( He's not ready, no. It happens in the blink of an eye, the door opens as he opens it against him, with a speed he doesn't anticipate. He dropping backwards and quickly flings his wrist. )
Moveantur!
( One of his chairs surges forward, and David lands with his back against cushioning.
Ezra is dropped to his knees but the chair holds him upright.
Dave.
( He straightens up, leaning forward, checking his vitals and lifting himself higher. )
David.

( Because Danny is with Eliza, Bonnie agrees with Isaac suggests they wait things out at Eliza's. Bonnie knows she wouldn't be able to go back home if her parents had just died. And both of her parents are dead. She tries calling him, but the signal wherever he is doesn't go through. She doesn't leave a message. She's here for him if he needs her. She's always been. And she promised Bridget, she'll always be.
In the living room things are in disarray from when William and Gloria had taken off so suddenly, a few wires still sticking out of the TV pushed out from the wall, tea sits undrank on the coffee table and William's bag sits by the door.
Bonnie perches on the edge of the armchair.
There are only rope burns along her arms, but they're faint and not what Bonnie's worried about. )
Asks the werewolf in the shirt that's more blood than shirt.

( Mickey's in the barracks, finished with his debrief.
He doesn't know what to say besides what happened, so he detailed stumbling upon the big meeting. Things going sideways. Splitting up and finding Cooper again and then getting out of there. He's praised, if only because he didn't end up dead like half of their ranks.
He needs a fight, a fuck, a shower, and a drink.
Being the soldier, he's desensitized to the deaths. Cooper cut it close, though. Cooper, who's storming past him. )
Hey, where's the fire.

Hey, where's the fire.
Hi, honey.
[The glibness will not be appreciated, he knows this. But he's going to do it anyway. Because what else is he going to do when he shows up covered in blood - not all of it his.]
I'm home.
[He glances around at the rest of the room and realizes they're in his office.]
Sort of.

No, it's fine.
[Though she should probably explain ... all of that.]
Remember that family I'm hiding from? My brother was trapped in the city too.

No fire.
[Not yet, anyway.]
I just wanna talk to the woman who got my brother killed.
[It's not that Coop isn't used to death. You can't do what they do and not be. It's the fact that his brother, the one he's trusted to have his back his entire life is gone, and someone needs to provide answers for that.]

You're covered in blood.
( He's checking for signs of his husband's injuries. He pushes one arm of his jacket off. He was shot in his shoulder. He carefully removes the other sleeve of his jacket. As he pulls up on the t-shirt, he throws one hand back quickly. )
Abi.
( His door slams a little too hard. Another quick of his wrist and the blinds come down.
He removes his shirt. )
Your wound's not infected ( that is, he says, hovering a palm over the bullet hole. ) and they didn't use a witch killing bullet. What happened?

And Danny had nice parents, Isaac. A nice sister.
( She sighs, running her hands down her face, shaking her head. )
I'm sorry. I've ruined shirts, too. I actually ruined my father's couch once.

[He shakes his head.]
Nope. Not that one. The one who sent us into this situation in the first place.
[And he's just gonna keep walking. You can come if you want, he doesn't care.]

I'm sure that went over well.
[It would not, if it were his father. But his face does sober after that comment, because it's clear Bonnie cares about the Brightons.]
I'm sorry. Patrick was a good man, and he was a good leader. He was just trying to do right by his coven. I respected that, even if I didn't agree with his approach.

Was her name Bridget?
[She doesn't remember any mention of the girl having sisters.]
She's dead, if it is. Hunters got her when we were trying to find a way out.
[And then, there's a long pause because there's a part she doesn't want to say, but she doesn't know how to avoid it.]
Spike's dead too.

Remember witch town, in London? The Brightons' coven?
[Because names are everything in this business. He tries not to wince as Ezra moves him around, but he does his best not to impede the process of treating him.]
Hunters hit them. Hard. I don't know the full damage, but they definitely took out a good chunk of the leadership.

The Knightsbridge Coven.
( The lightswitch flips up again too, the harsh fluorescents bathing David and Ezra in light. )
And your insides. Were these hunters taking a page out of the West Side Story, script. Dave.
( He regards him, then. )
What do you want. Do you want me to admit you, to take me home? Torch this chair?

I blamed it on a candle.
( She half smiles at that, hand on her cheek as her hair falls in her face. )
Was he really trying to side with the hunters?
