The summer solstice is that evening.

Isaac, Bonnie, Gloria, Mia, Danny, the twins, and Hope are in William's room. )

It's the Astronomical Clock.

( "The abstract art?" Lizzie asks, remembering her meet-whatever with Danny in front of that very landmark.

Hope, Josie and Danny found the same. With the twins' begrudging acceptance of Jo's informative text (and not much more scolding, maybe it's coming), the plan comes together. With the summer equinox being about the incoming nourishment after action, then this is the local yearly ritual. )

Witches will be there in droves. In plain clothes, but there to reaffirm and grow their power. That is the hunters' target. What I don't know, is if this is a blunt assault. I downloaded schematics. This looks on the outside like an act of terrorism.

( So. Bomb. )

Every hunter we find is low on the totem pole. The higher ranked hunters run the ops. There will be civilians and civilian hunters. Low-ranked boy and Girl Scouts. It's dangerous.

( Which is why their answers are few and far between and why Cooper's double agent act only gets him so far. )

Okay.

( She's never been the general in this fight, but after breaking away from Mystic Falls and seeing the world, finding more witches, she's feeling more and more comfortable. )

Then we need to call in Eliza. If not in person ( and not in person, unless they call in another favor with David ) in spirit. Your coven needs to come together.

[And he's going to step out of the room to call her so they can keep planning without interruption and I don't have to write out talking to myself.

Isaac nods as he watches him go, and briefly wishes that Scott was here. He might be more useful. But eye on the ball:

( "William's insider," Hope says. "An actual plan. Where is the bomb?"

William scratching his forehead with his thumb, grip still on his phone. "I only know the size and schematics of the bomb itself. I don't know where."

"Maybe William's contact can help us with that," Lizzie helpfully chimes.

"You need to grasp how much danger he's putting himself into." William doesn't lose it, but his patience is waning. "Accept you can trust me and I trust him. Things will go much faster."

Well, that shuts Lizzie up. )

So. The plan.

The clock is the center of the gathering, right? So I'm willing to bet that the clock is where they're putting their bomb.

[Okay. Time to actually formulate a plan. He reaches over and places a hand on William's shoulder.]

You focus on getting a hold of Coop and figuring out what his status is. Mia, take someone with you to check out the clock and see what you can find.

[He'll let someone be willing to volunteer.]

I don't want to be acting without the witches knowledge so we need to locate their leadership and let them know about the potential threat. If nothing else, we can have the witches mark themselves, and use the absence of a mark to find our hunters. So some of you are going to come with me to talk to the local elders.

[He looks to Bonnie.]

Do you need any extra witch power with you for this ritual?

For something like this.

( Naturally, they'd need the backing of his coven, even the local coven. It couldn't just be her and her family line, or Hope and the twins' influence. This is real power.

"I'll go with Mia," Hope says, giving her girlfriend a reassuring look. "Lizzie and Josie can go with Bonnie?" Witches didn't always take well to Hope. Or, Hope didn't always take well to anyone. )

I don't know about marking themselves, but we can make a case for it. And at least, figure out what the local coven is doing tonight. While protecting everyone.
