Well, we have a mental health facility that would actually qualify as being called an insane asylum. They probably haven't updated their treatment practices to meet twenty-first century standards, period.
[She dusts the salt off her fingers as she speaks.]
And it was built on top of the remains of a Japanese relocation camp from World War II.
I'm sure they do. But given that they also have a ward for crazy supernaturals in the basement, I'm willing to bet that they don't get checked to make sure they're following the rules all that often.
[As she finishes that comment, she picks up her veggie burger, and bites down. Bitter, copper juice floods her mouth, a texture so runny she might have mistaken it for blood. Immediately she recoils reaching for a napkin to spit out the bite, but when she looks at it, nothing outwardly seems wrong. A mash of masticated vegetables, bread and veggie burger patty.
Something nags at the back of her mind, but she tries to shake it off, inspecting her food as she tries to make sense of it.]
[She shakes her head, balling her napkin before placing it in the paper boat with the rest of her burger.]
I think they gave me the wrong order. It doesn't taste right.
[She's sharper with her banshee abilities these days, but sometimes, even she doesn't see the haze coming. She gets to her feet and grabs the remains of her food.]
I'm going to go have them make a new one. I'll be right back.
[There's a small squeeze to his shoulder as she moves past him, and then she disappears into the crowd. And she doesn't come back, nor does she make it to the booth. If he looks, Damon will find the remains of her food in a garbage can nearby.
But he's free to join the thread with Scott and Cora whenever he's ready.]
( While she wanders away, he makes a will save to not bother the Winchesters, or Cora and Stiles. He beats the will save to bother hunters (16), but his (10) as he listens in on Cora and Scott's conversation pushes him up and away from his picnic table. )
