[Cami sees the storm that is sitting on the horizon as Bela and Elijah's car pulls up to the front of the Abattoir, but that doesn't mean she's any less happy to see him. She knows that things have been tense between him and Klaus ever since Elijah's memory situation, but at least being in the same city means there's an opportunity for things to get better, even if it doesn't bode well for the furniture.

She pushes up from her seat in the courtyard and makes her way over to the archway to great them.]

Elijah. Welcome back.

[It's been a while since Davina Claire has been on a date.

Davina isn't sure she's ever actually been on a date, if she's entirely honest with herself. Things are so tense in New Orleans that even in the aftermath of Kol and growing up into an adult, she winds up with far more trysts and stolen moments than intentional dating. But she's seizing the opportunity now, which is why she's fishing through her closet, with Josh sprawled on her bed, doing his best friend duty in helping her prepare.]

Okay, honest opinion. White or blue?

[She turns to face him, one dress in each hand, one white and light, sundress-esque, while the other was a pastel blue and slightly more slinky.]

[Will power is becoming a bit of a problem for Hayley as of late. She knows she's supposed to be heading towards the Quarter by now, dressed, ready to make her obligatory appearance at the beignet festival. Also, to make sure that Klaus and Elijah didn't kill each other on first sight.

But, for the first time in what feels like forever, her bed is warm, distractions abound and she's finding it difficult to tear herself away. But after a moment, she pulls back, and tries to keep him from pursuing her as she does.]

You are very distracting, but I have to go.

[Were it not for the promise of beignets, he would be a little more bitter about playing a glorified chauffer. Josh getting a call from Marcel asking him to play escort to a friend of his old vampire friend Donna and pushing it off on Aiden because Josh had very important Best Friend Duties to attend to is not Aiden's favorite thing by any means.

But he was promised beignets, so beignets he hopes he will have.

Which is why he's standing, looking almost bored, with one of those white signs reading "Harvey Specter" in big block letters.

He does not look like Harvey's usual drivers, but welcome to the supernatural side of things.]

[Something is wrong.

He's felt it for a few days now. The tenor of the team as they settled in to locations around New Orleans has changed, and the way they look at him is not the same. It's tense. Uncomfortable. And he warned William that he was going to have to go off grid until he could figure it out.

Unfortunately for him, it's not soon enough.

What he doesn't know is that the higher ups have been cutting him out. Boxing him in. Making sure that he has nowhere else to go when the time comes. Monroe doesn't tolerate traitors, she's made that much very clear, and she intends to make an example of him.

Coop doesn't know that, however. What he does know is that as he's rounding the corner in the compound, he spots a face that fills him with relief.]

Mick?

[He's happy to see him. What he doesn't know is that Monroe is just as suspicious of Mickey as she is of Coop. He doesn't know that she's put the gun in his hand and expecting him to prove his loyalty. They don't have any proof on Mickey. But they do have proof for Cooper, so time to prove his worth.]

( Klaus is upstairs getting ready.

That is, he is being stubborn and adjusting his cufflinks. He's sipping from a very old scotch. He doesn't poke his head out. He doesn't rule from on high surveying the abbatoir. He - well, yes, Cami, he hides.

Elijah knows exactly what to expect, helping Bela out of the car while their driver takes care of their bags.

The abbatoir brings back memories old, recent, and returned. But, all he can do is make his way inside. He has not decided on taking up residence again. Camille might insist. It may come down to what Niklaus needs. )

Camille. You remember Bela Talbot.

( Josh can't believe it. From one horny vampire to a tryst-having witch, when she tells him she has a date, he practically begs Aiden to meet Marcel's VIP. The outfit parade is a bestie requirement. He thinks he'll meet up with Aiden later, anyway. )

Dishonest opinion, he'd hate both. Run right in the other direction. Honest? You wear the blue one and he will not know what hit him. Unseasonally low temperatures today aside.

( For someone who tends to deny himself a lot, including pleasure of any kind, Derek has let himself indulge in his attraction to Hayley. His sister is safe in Mystic Falls. And he could learn something from the pack in the Bayou. Staying is easy. Getting out of bed proves more difficult. He finds he doesn't want to. Even if they do have a "date" tonight that doubles as Hayley's official business at the beignet festival.

They returned to the city a few days before. Hayley has things to actually do, and Derek couldn't say no to temporarily living in sin.

He kisses her shoulder, but doesn't pull her back, just rests his chin. )

We're going to the same place.

( To be fair, Josh plans on meeting up with them after.

Harvey trusts anyone Donna trusts. He thought he'd graduated from white signs, but lo and behold, there's one waiting for him as he rolls his carry-on behind him.

He takes a second, feigning not seeing a sign of his own, and stops in front of Aiden. )

( Mickey slips back in easily, especially under the guise of being 'kidnapped' and 'escaping.' Things are downright dire after Prague with the party line being hunters losing their lives to the murderous witches. The rumor is a spell trapped everyone inside like rats in a maze. Everything happens internally. There is an iceberg of knowledge he can't voice. Including playing the part that's expected of him.

Mick gets close, stopping, and whispering. )

You're back.

Yeah, and so are you.

[He's so relieved that he doesn't think to think smart about this. He makes his way closer, clapping his hands on the other man's shoulders with a smile.]

Shit, man, I thought you were dead.

I do, lovely to see you again, Bela.

[Because whatever problems the brother's Mikaelson are having at the moment, their significant others are at least getting along.

Also, for the record, the word Cami was going to use was "pouting."]

Klaus is upstairs getting ready. Freya had witch business to attend to in the Quarter, but I'm sure she'll be very happy to see you later. And as far as I know, Kol is still out of town.

[And Rebekah was in New York. That much went without saying.]

I'll bring a shrug or something.

[Also, you know, excuse for him to lend her his jacket. Very romantic. A grin splits across her face as she returns the white dress back to her closet.]

Is it weird that I'm super giddy about this? I feel like a teenage girl.

[The teenage girl she never got to be.]

[Given the fact that she rarely lets her walls down herself, it's nice to have this kind of fun again. It's one of those things that now that she's in it, she wonders why she withheld herself in the first place.

She's sure that the world will come crashing down on it eventually, but for now, she intends to enjoy it.]

Yes and we are already late. I was supposed to leave to head downtown ten minutes ago.

[She starts to pull on discarded clothing, though still reluctant to pull away.]

I'm supposed to give you a ride downtown to have a chat with Freya Mikaelson.

[Because nice try, Harvey, but Aiden is the type to do his homework. Especially when it comes to someone working with Freya (20). He doesn't want to piss her off by picking up the wrong person.]

All due respect, I do know how to use Google.

( The war inside him attempts to bluff reassurance that his former? friend has found him again (10), but he tries to shade the guilt with concern, and the truth. He died. )

Just captured. Back from behind enemy lines, but, so are you. Everything I hear about Prague. It's not good.

( He tried. An easy test passed. A modicum of respect has been gained. )

( Once he realizes that his piss-poor attempt at keeping her in bed failed, he too slides over the other side of the bed, sitting up, and at least pulling on underwear and one of his shirts. His pants come next. )

You're the one there in an official capacity. I can be late. And you're Hayley Mikaelson. They will forgive you for being ten minutes late.

( Without baring those shoulders?! Practical, Davina, but at what cost? )

Considering when you were a teenage girl, you had witch wars and Original vampires to worry about, I think it's about time. You're allowed to be as giddy as you want. Now tell me more about Scott. I think I have a little more time before I totally piss off my husband.

I did half expect my brother to hop a separate private plane to retrieve his daughter personally. Could this be growth?

[Aiden nods, before turning and leading the way back to the car.]

We like to keep things simple in the Big Easy. I figured it would be less complicated than me coming up to some stranger saying I'm here to pick them up.

[And then, he'll hold out a hand and be less rude.]

I'm Aiden, by the way. I'm a member of the local pack.

[He's assuming if he's meeting Freya, he's some kind of supernatural.]

Their forgiveness only goes so far. And while the Mikaelsons do like to be fashionably late, I don't want to be associated with them all the time.

[Especially when it's on pack business.]

Besides. The sooner we get out of here and handle that business? The sooner I can let you go back to distracting me.

He's ... sweet and kind and ... super genuine.

[All of those adjectives describing no man that she thought would be around her ever.]

It feels like he wants to be around me and the only agenda he has is being around me. And I've never really had that.

I think it helped that by the time he had made up his mind on the subject, she was already on her way home.

[More or less.]

But I also think her being away at school soothed the overprotective instinct, at least until he's in the immediate vicinity to do something about it.

[There's something about that that doesn't hit right (14). He's not sure which part of it, and part of him just wants to chalk it up to his current stage of heightened paranoia, but he does his best to try and keep calm.]

Yeah, it was a mess. Not really sure if it was better or worse than London, but we lost a lot of good people.
