Their forgiveness only goes so far. And while the Mikaelsons do like to be fashionably late, I don't want to be associated with them all the time.

( He fastens his pants then, shooting her a raised eyebrow. )

You heard me.

[Her tone is teasing, but she meant what she said. She pulls her shirt over her head, before moving closer with a smile.]

Because in case it wasn't clear, I was very much enjoying those distractions.

( He takes that in, nodding, cracking a smile. )

That's clear in the past tense.

[She laughs, before taking a step closer.]

Well, as I said. Let me get through this pack stuff, and I'll put that back in present tense.

[Though something on the horizon is intending to interfere with those plans. Listen check, Derek.]

( Derek, the werewolf, gets a (19) to listen, probably not stepping any closer when he realizes there's something to listen for. )

[The first thing he notices is what he doesn't hear. The courtyard outside Hayley's building and the street beyond has gone suspiciously quiet. But the longer he listens, he does pick up on other sounds.

Footsteps, soft and quite moving into position. And, as he takes a deep breath, the faint scent of gun powder.

Hayley frowns, noticing the intent look on his face, and raises an eyebrow, wondering if there's something she needs to be worried about.]

Get down.

( Without Hayley also aware, and barely being aware himself, Derek rolls a (14) to pull Hayley to the ground before gunfire goes off, likely from her large bay window. )

[Gunfire does indeed go off, but it's not the loud barrage the werewolf is likely expecting. It's a much quieter assault, silencers muffling the pellet of bullets as the break through the windows, the walls and everything around them (13). After all, you can't attack an ally of the Mikaelsons within hearing distance and go all out if you want to be subtle about it.

Hayley lets Derek take her down to the ground with little resistance (2), her arms coming up to cover them both, given that even with his healing factor, she can still take a bit more of a beating. But before she can recover and get to her feet, boots land on the ground, three coming in from the window, while two kick open the bedroom door.]

( It's not easy to coordinate an assault when someone has taken cover above you, but he tries to use whatever momentum she has at launching at anyone, while attacking the closest person be it from the window or the door. (14) )

[Claws dig into legs of one of the hunters who came through the window (12). He lets out a cry of pain as the scent of blood fills the air, but that one and the one next to him turn and shoot twice (10, 15) into the werewolf.

"Derek Hale's here," the third shouts into one of the comms, switching out his rifle and pulling out his electro-shock baton, swinging it around to bring it down into the center of his chest (19). "Switch off live rounds, we need him alive."

Meanwhile the other two at the door are focused on Hayley, each taking their own shot at her. The first grazes her shoulder, leaving a tear in her shirt and smoke in it's wake, indicating the bullets are laced with something, not just ordinary bullets (16 vs. 15), while the other goes wild and imbeds into the nearby wall (10 vs. 14). Hayley bears her fangs in response, charging forward and getting her hands on the nearest hunter, ready to sink her teeth in, but the hunter dodges to the side and manages to shove her back with a kick to the gut (4 vs. 19).]

( (8) and (14) give their own splatters of blood as Derek cries out. He tries to writhe out of the way but his (18) means he still gets the jolt.

His (12) tries to help him recover from the worst thing you can do to a werewolf. Is it enough to have an action?

[The man isn't prepared for him, and he loses the stun gun as a result, the werewolf coming up and tackling him to the ground (5). He struggles underneath him, trying to drive a punch up into his stomach to wound him (15).

The two hunters Hayley is tangling with maintain their focus but swap to handguns for more direct attacks, less of a spray of fire. The first she manages to dodge (10 vs. 14) but the second hits her dead in the heart, and she can't help but let out of cry of pain as the wolfsbane floods into her blood stream (20 vs. 17). She drops to a knee, trying to regain her balance, but one of the hunters tangling with Derek, comes up behind her and is able to get a hold of her and deftly snaps her neck, dropping her down for the count (12 vs. 6).

The remaining hunter on Derek's side, pulls out the his baton and drives it into his side to try and get him off his friend (20).

Though speaking of the wolfsbane, make a constitution saving throw, Derek.]

( Derek and he are so close, the punch lands hard. Normally, it would cause some internal bleeding. Then again, it might, until he heals. But the electricity will make sure it doesn't any time soon. )

( (2) distraught and blindsided, that baton not only hits but sends him into unconsciousness, I only assume (11). )

[That it does.

His vision goes hazy around the edges, and as the electricity courses through him, he slumps to the side and still manages to pick up on their conversation before he passes out completely:

"Pack 'em up. We gotta get out of here before someone notices something's wrong." He steps closer to Derek, and the last thing he sees is the hunter's snide smile. "The boss is gonna be real pleased with this one."]
