( Having been ahem - working so close with Hayley the last few weeks, Derek knows Terry Hawthorne is the leader of the human faction, the liaison for everything supernatural in New Orleans. Josh, he doesn't recognize, but Davina, Davina is regent. And with Hayley the crescent "queen," he realizes what this is. )

( Someone being there within earshot makes him second guess his hypothesis. Eyeing the hunter with his back to them. )
["Oh, you're visiting, yeah? Hayley's guest." He gets filled in on some of the details. Either way though, Derek can pick up on his anxiety, being stuck in the situation they're in. "A shame you picked now to visit."
( It would be a shame if Derek hadn't been kidnapped before, this isn't about his timing, this is about a vendetta.
The last thing Sierra remembers is breaking bread so-to-speak. But, this bread was stale. It was probably in the tea. She flexes her fingers first. Though her connection to magic had been tenuous since Prague, she'd regained her equilibrium. Not now. If she were standing, she wouldn't know how to balance.
With a (19) and (15), respectively, she could pick Derek Hale out of a line-up. Talk about werewolf infamy, and seeing as she has been around, she recognizes Hawthorne, too, but from local politics and as one of Monroe's targets. Which now includes her.
She shouldn't be surprised.
Now, it's something else she has to survive. Been there, done that. )
That makes two of us. I should learn by now to not try and mend friendships. ( She looks to Derek and Hawthorned. ) I'm Maura.
["Terry. You got caught up in this too?" He doesn't recognize Maura at all, so it's his default to be nice. He's a good guy, caught up in a bad situation. Poor Terry. This situation isn't going to end well for him.]
( She (2) doesn't bury her recognition of Derek Hale, unable to, because like everything with the hunters these past few months, Maura keeps tripping into plans she didn't plan.
(7) has Derek recognize that recognition of some sort, but there are bigger fish to let back into the sea, and he doesn't ask.
"If you're here and Hayley..." Derek trails off. "Monroe.")
["Yeah, from all the fuss that Argent woman was making a while back, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner."
There's a soft groan from the witch next to Maura as Davina starts to come around. She lifts one chained hand, pressing it to her forehead as she tries to bring herself around, noting the aches and pains she has from falling off a second floor balcony.
Hawthorne refocuses on the witch. "D? Hey, you alright?"]
He's also their representative. If Monroe is trying to make an example of you, taking Hawthorne lines up with taking you and Hayley.
( He was only taken because he was with Hayley, and likely the other guy in the chair with his arm pulled taut. )
But, who are you?
("Maura. Tourist, and -" she tries searching for something in front of her to pull off the reality of her situation (and not the calm cockiness she comes armed with) "witch. Like I said. Wrong place, wrong time. And you're Derek Hale."
Off of Derek's look, she smirks.
"The supernatural world is smaller than you think. My family knew your mother.")
[Davina shifts over and she sees Josh, still out cold. She makes a face, before leaning back and muttering a spell that should have cast the shackles from her hands, but her magic doesn't respond. She tries again, still no luck.]
Huh. It's been a long time since I haven't had magic.
You and me both, D. Sorry, I only have a very narrow view today. How many of us are there?
( She gets an (8) because she doesn't recognize "D" or Davina's voice. She'd like to have this situation under control but shit if that's going to happen today.
"Six," Derek says, able to see everyone. Seven, if you count the computer geek that's packing. )
Josh and Hayley are still out. They must have snapped their necks.
[Otherwise their vampire nature wouldn't have allowed them to stay out this long. Derek might pick up on the fact that Hayley is starting to stir, and hear the rustling metal of the contraption they've strapped her into, but she's not fully conscious yet.]
( Derek got an (8), so his focus remains on the voices and Hayley's physical presence. (19) leaves the indelible memory of Hayley's neck being snapped vividly in place. )

( (9) with such narrow-minded focus in magic and only recently touching down in New Orleans, Sierra doesn't recognize Hayley's name, nor Josh's (2).
Because usually, everything that happens here has a big name attached. Davina's about to say more, when Hayley groans herself, starting to come to. She struggles at first, surprised by her lack of mobility, before opening her eyes to get a better look at her situation.]
"She took us. And Terry Hawthorne, and a witch named --"
"Maura," Sierra restates.
Josh stirs, but like most vampires with a snapped neck, it's the headache that rouses him. And then he notices his arm just so. His eyes open then, noticing Hayley first, who's closest in proximity. )
Hayley? ( And then. ) Davina!
( He tries to turn his head but it just slides back, facing Hayley again. )
("None." She has no reason to lie, and has a bigger chance of them working together if they have the same disadvantage. Her goal, now? Get out of this alive.
"Did she plan all this?" Josh asks, looking back at the screens in behind Hayley. Other than the rubble that was Rousseau's, does he recognize any other scene?
[Fortunately for the wolves but unfortunately for their friends, there aren't a lot of city cameras out in the bayou so that location is out. On the other hand, Josh will recognize the outskirts of the cemetery where the witches do their work, as well as the streets around the Abattoir and he might catch a glimpse of Cami and a strange man moving up the steps of City Hall.]
She had to. We heard rumors she was in town months ago but we never found her. She must have been hiding out and planning her next steps.
[She grits her teeth.]
We shouldn't have been distracted by Mystic Falls. We should have looked harder.
("She was never distracted. Not for any of it. Not in London, Prague, or Mystic Falls," Derek concludes, trying to brace against his chains again. (6) )
I'm sorry. What have I stumbled into?
( The (11) thins her confused facade she's establishing, for anybody looking at trying to see through it. Like Derek (14), who is still keeping one eye out on her, but not knowing any more of the story gives him nothing else to go on.
"Uh, guys," Josh says clearing his throat, eyeing the man. He talks quieter for anyone superhuman (Derek, Hayley) (16) to keep it from the strapped human.. "They're watching us. Cami's at city hall. They have eyes on the Abattoir, and the cemetery."
Maybe it's the mountain ash or whatever spell, but Derek's push against the chains and subsequent grunting (3) drowns it out. )
[Davina picks up on Derek's suspicion and has some of her own regarding this new witch (11), but that might just come from unknown witches in town never really meaning anything good.]
Hunters. Who I'm betting are planning to take out every supernatural and ally in New Orleans right now.
[She does make out what Josh mentioned, however, and concern shows on her feautres (19). This is going to get messier before it gets better.
Hayley licks her lips as she considers. "Maybe we should--"
Before she can finish that sentence, the door opens and Monroe strides her way in. A thin smile crosses her face, as she walks into the room. "Look at that. You're all awake."]
Thanks for your hospitality. You might want to rethink Saw traps and chains, but I don't usually host dinner parties.
( Or, kidnappings. Though, he's both been privy to them and a victim of them.
"You're making a mistake," Derek threatens.
Maura's eyes narrow, staring daggers at her old - colleague? Stooge who turned things around on her? Either way, she knows better than to speak right now. )
["Been a long time, Derek." He's been chasing her for a while, but it's been a long time since they've been face to face. She makes her way closer, crouching down in front of him so they're eye level. "You know, I wasn't actually after you this time. But my men just know a good thing when they see it."
She then glances over at Josh, but doesn't rise. "And for the record, this isn't my hospitality. We would have to be friends for that."]
( Before he'd known her presence, he was on the run himself, only brought in at the end of everything, or what he believed to be the end. )
You don't make friends. You manipulate high schoolers and small towns ( seriously pot calling the kettle, Derek ) and soldiers who actually fought for their country. Have you ever once thought about Gerard Argent's real legacy? Why he was in hiding for a year. Why he chose you. He didn't believe in you, just your paranoia and hatred. He wasn't even your friend. And he betrayed his family. So what were you?
You could let everybody else go. Include me exclusively. Maybe as payback for turning sad high school students, or anything my uncle Peter has done. What's the quote? I volunteer as tribute?
("Dated Hunger Games reference aside, I like him," Josh whispers. )
[Hayley gives him a small look at that, because yeah, she likes him too. But she also doesn't like this plan. Still, she keeps her mouth shut, just picturing the way she's going to kill this woman in her mind.
But Monroe shakes her head. "That's not the plan, Derek. As much as you've been hanging out here, you're not someone who's going to mean something to them. And I'm here to make a statement."
But don't worry. She'll find something for him soon enough.
She pushes up and turns back to the guard with the security cameras.
"How are we doing?"
"Squad Three just arrived at the cemetery and are getting into position. We don't have eyes on the bayou, but according to the comms things are getting underway."]
Squad three's about to get their asses kicked. And, sorry to say that the bayou will end in bloodshed.
( It's a little too Klaus for him to put it like that, but doesn't everyone have a little Klaus Mikaelson in them. )
For every witch or innocent werewolf you try to go after, there are four that won't miss. You could call it off. I know your boys would be better off. They may even thank you for saving their lives. After losing all respect.
