[The spell continues, though some of the witches branch off when Elijah and Scott are on the move, which causes a small differential that doesn't quite get the witches where they want to go (14 vs. 15).
But the help will be needed as both Scott and Elijah run into a large collection of hunters. Clearly expecting witches, they're wearing charms to protect themselves from magic and are carrying various weaponry. Each of the squads are lead by a designated leader, who waves a hand expecting the rest to follow.]
( This is -- overkill. Both Scott and Elijah know it is. But this is war. And it is wasted on the zealots. So, Scott turns back, pulling the witch back with him.
Elijah on the other hand tells his witch to go back and fortify the mausoleum. Keep them out. Keep the spell going until it can't.
Planning on taking them on a chase, Elijah busts out his vamp speed, trying to lose them in the maze - ready to cut them down one by one. (16) to get away and - well, hide, yes, but in order to kill. )
( Scott retreats, pulling the witch close, grabbing their hand.
"You can use me, right? Keep them out, okay?" He'll be fine.
Elijah... tries to (15) snap a lone hunter's neck and at (7), he succeeds, letting the body drop to the ground as he (8) tries to hide again, basically, but a hunter probably witnessed his assault. They brought this on themselves. )
[Elijah does get spotted as he makes his escape (13) and a burst of gunfire follows in his wake (1), but he misses completely, and all the bullets hit cement.
"Shit shit shit. Hey! He's back here!"
And Scott will notice as some of the hunters on his side break off to follow the sound of the shout.
In the meantime, the witches succeed on that last press through (20 vs. 15), and the line of blood on the map starts to draw, starting from their location and moving towards the location of their friends.]
( Elijah tries to speed into one hunter, sending him flying into one of the mausoleums, (3) and for another, he tries latching onto his arm, twisting it back hard.
Scott, hands still clasped with the witch he'd pulled away nods. Encouraging her to keep the witches save while the spell ends. )
[Welp that hunter rolled a nat 1, so when he goes flying back into the masoleum, there's a sickening snap as he collides with the wrong part of the building, and his body drops lifelessly to the ground. The one Elijah takes by the arm can't escape either (3), and he cries out in pain as his arm is twisted.
The witch catches on to Scott's cue, and she starts to cast, extending her hand over the hunters trying to follow the shout and attempting to put them to sleep (13). They struggle, but ultimately they push through and keep charging forward.
The map is still working it's magic, but they have enough that Freya releases Aiden's hand and nods. "Go."
Aiden nods and he takes off, heading out into the cemetery and seeing what hunters he can find.]
( Elijah spins around, throwing this hunter back in the same direction as the one who unfortunately just passed (15) before speeding closer to the mausoleum and calling out. )
I don't believe any of you have been invited, nor are you paying your respects. This all reads a bit... blasphemous, does it not?
[Hunter goes flying, but recovers enough to not die (11), but he hits the ground and is going to stay there for a bit.
Aiden comes out to stand next to Elijah, letting him handle the talking, being the diplomatic Original. Let's just say the werewolf's way of handling it would have been to beat one until his husband fell out.
The witches come to block them out on the sides, and the smaller squad that was sent to resolve the witch situation is starting to find themselves outnumbered.]
[Dealing with the Originals, in theory, is one thing. Actually staring one in the face, woefully unprepared is another. It doesn't help that the witches are coming in on all sides, and the leader of the squad takes note of Scott, Aiden, and even Freya when she comes out to join them.
Apparently, some of them do have some sense of self-preservation (1).
"Fuck this, I'm out."
He turns and heads back through the crowd. Some follow, equally aware of their own mortality. The rest look confused, if they're actually running right now.]
[They don't survive the second round of intimidation any better than they did the first (1). They flee, piling into their cars and disappearing from the cemetery, not even bothering to gather their fallen commerades.
Freya waits until they're gone, before turning to Elijah.]
I have the location of our friends. But I can't help but wonder - if they sent a hit squad to the cemetery, they likely also sent one to the bayou.
[She does check. And given that the hunters are still there burning things down, neither Allison nor Malia answers the phone. And when Freya takes that for the ill omen that it is, she pulls out her phone and calls her other brother.
( Klaus is overseeing a dark object ritual "killing," but, he is nothing if not prompt when it comes to a siblings' call. Well, certain siblings. He picks up. )

Good news, we know where Hayley and the others are being held. Bad news, we had some unwelcome visitors by some of Monroe's loyal minions. We dispatched them easily enough, but we now can't reach anyone in the bayou.
