[Fortunately for Hayley, the mountain ash wasn't factored into the vampire design. The way the contraption worked, the vampire would snap their own neck before they could manage to escape.

But she did not account for Hayley's willingness to destroy her clothes in order to get out of there. Her eyes glow and her body contorts and soon there's a very loud snapping as a large wolf stands in her place and the contraption is destroyed (nat 20).

Derek is going to have a bit more of an uphill battle. Make a constitution save, Derek.]

( Josh does watch with wide eyes as Hayley tears out of her clothes and her restraints.

Derek's constitution save is a (6), from being captured for a few hours and getting his ass kicked and electrocuted in the beginning, he doesn't have as good a chance, the narration assumes.

"Good dog," Sierra says, impressed, hoping that she has control of her werewolf form. A (12) proves she's done the research. Hayley should be in control of this form. )

[The mountain ash pushes back against Derek, shoving him back against the wall. It's too strong, and he's had too long a day.

Hayley rolls her shoulders, making sure she's free of any trappings, but before she can get too far, her ears prick up, and her eyes snap towards the door with a low growl as she prowls around the front of the pillar, putting herself between the door and Derek (10 vs. 20). The footsteps stop, and a hunter shouts:

"Shut up in there! We'll get to you in a bit."

Hayley glances around the room, before turning and snapping at Josh - not enough to actually do any damage, but enough to try and get him to make some noise. Please catch on to the play.]

( Derek cries out at the resistance, eyes going blue and then back again as he slumps backward.

Josh jumps because he knows what happens when he's bitten, and he's more dejected about Derek's wolf impotence (full on natural 1) please have fun physically with that one.

As for Sierra, her (14) understands, and she yells back. )

Is that how you were raised? To tell women to shut up? Or, are you too cowardly to say it to our faces!

[There's some muttered curses and the door bursts open, two hunters flanking the entrance. They see the wolf and swear, going for their guns to try and shoot, but Hayley is faster. She snarls and snaps at the first one's throat, blood spurting between her jaws, but the soldier manages to get a shot off (16 vs. 13).

She whines in response as the body drops, but she still manages to get the jump on the second, as he stumbles back to avoid his bloody friend (2 vs. 1).

Glancing out into the hallway, she fishes the keys off his belt and eyes Maura. If she tosses her the keys, will she pay the favor forward to the rest. She doesn't have time to debate it, and with a toss of her head, the keys land on the ground in front of Maura.

Time to prove if she can trust you, Ms. Witch.]

( The keys land at her feet, and Maura can feel her magic returning (19). Were her magic to continue to wax and wane, she may have made a different decision, but in this case, it is clear.

She frees herself, the metaphorical circle of mountain ash broken. She drops the shackles, pushing to her feet. Looking around, she decides to cut Derek a break, tossing them to him (14) and Derek just misses them. But, he'll be able to reach next turn with that (13).

She helped, but she didn't help everyone.

Like David, her inherent power involves doorways, but hers are created underneath. The ground shifts beneath her, reality warping underneath wind picking up as light refracts back and forth until she attempts to drop through (19).

[That bitch.

Fortunately for Maura but unfortunately for Hayley, another batch of guards come through the doors after having caught the sound of the ruckus. Since Derek is at least nearby the keys, she hopes that he'll handle releasing Josh, so she focuses on the fight at hand.

Both pull knives, not wanting to shoot in close quarters, and the hunters come at the wolf (13 vs. 16, 2 vs. 16), but the knife slices through fur as Hayley manages to get her claws and teeth into them.]

( Derek makes quick work of his own restraints and rushes over to Josh's vice, attempting to unlock it as quick as he can (13), but it's not one he recognizes so it does take a second to find where to fucking unlock it.

Once it's unlocked, Josh doesn't hesitate, going to grapple the hunter that stuck a knife into Hayley (14). He bites. Or... tries to. (10) )

[The hunter with the knife dodges backwards, managing to avoid the grapple (20). He turns to swipe back at him with the knife, turning his focus fully to the newly freed vampire. The remaining hunter keeps tangling with Hayley (17 vs. 6), and he goes down next to his friend as Hayley manages to get her teeth into his neck.

Derek can pick up another set of footsteps coming towards the door.]

( Josh's (12) gets a slice into Josh's arm as he doesn't as much dodge, but the hunter misses vital organs. Unfortunately for the hunter, Josh is very hungry and a slice to his arm is nothing. Locking on (nat 20) he goes to bite into the hunter and drain him.

Derek assesses what's going on and then places himself on the outside of the open doorway, pulling off his shirt quickly and pants, transforming into the wolf, lying in wait. )

[Yep, Josh's hunter goes down, adding to the number of bodies in the room. Hayley follows Derek out once he's shifted, watching as the room opens and F1's eyes widen when he sees himself facing two wolves.

"They're out!" he shouts back into the room before turning and trying to take a shot at the wolves (16 for Hayley, 13 for Derek). Hayley manages to dodge (19) out of the way before jumping at the hunter's throat (9 vs. 18) as F2 enters the fray.]

[vampasm]

( F1's shot misses Derek completely (19) and with Hayley tussling with him, Derek jumps over Hayley and F1 at F2 (8). Josh stays back because of werewolf proximity, but speeds past to kill whomever might be coming in next (sneak 11) but he's moving past F2 so I think he gets an attempt at attacking as Josh passes? )

[F1 continues struggling with Hayley, trying to get another shot off at her (9 vs. 20), but Hayley manages to avoid it. She snaps back down at him (15 vs. 1), and she finally manages to tear his throat out, spraying blood everywhere.

F2 manages to dodge taking Derek head on (12). He tries to do two things at once, taking a shot at Josh (3), while kicking Derek away from him (13).]

[vampasm]

( Derek in wolf form gets kicked with a whimper back onto the dying hunter into the pool of blood but Josh isn't even close to hit.

As for Josh, he spots the computer set up and leans over, gleaning what he can. (Search 5), he's not a computer whiz. )

[F2 shoots at both the wolves (19 for Derek, 2 for Hayley). Hayley dodges (18), and surges forward to bite at his gun arm (4 vs. 7), but the hunter pulls up at the last second to avoid her clamping jaws.

On the computer seems to be a list of names. Each of those names seems to have a link that goes to another page. At the moment he doesn't see anyone familiar, but if he keeps scrolling he might.]

[vampasm]

( Derek cries out in pain, being shot in quite close range, but he goes for F2's ankles (2), but is stunned, hurting, and off balance. Plus, Hayley is also attacking him, too.

Yeah, Josh keeps scrolling before clicking anything. (10) )

[F2 dodges Derek's attack with a very unnecessary (20). Hayley rears up, doing her best to put herself between F2 and Derek. She snaps at him, aiming for the throat (12 vs. 20), and he manages to dart out of the way. But since she's taking his focus, he will take a shot at her (13 vs. 7), and Hayley is pushed back with a whine.

As he scrolls, Josh does begin to catch some familiar names. Rebekah Mikaelson. Vincent Griffith. Davina Claire. The list goes on.]

( Derek darts out around Hayley and goes for the hunter's midsection (19), trying to back him away from the door and further into the room.

"These are our names."

What if he clicks on his own name. What information comes up? )

[F2 goes down finally, leaving the wolves and vampire alone for now. Hayley moves into the next room and tips her head to the side curiously, as though she's trying to figure out what Josh is getting at.]

( Josh looks up at her and an approaching Derek.

"So, they have, like a list of all of our names and names I don't recognize, too. I'll be a bleeding out a hunter that they're all supernatural." )

[That sounds not good. That's not good, isn't it? Hayley can't really communicate well in this form but there's still that little wolfy head-tilt thing happening.]

[vampasm]

( He shakes his head, scrolling further down the list. )

It's not good, it's like -- doxxing potential for us. And not just Nola us. All of us. Mystic Falls is on here.

[Is it something that can be deleted? Can they destroy the laptop? Is this the only cache of information? All questions Hayley would love to ask except her head snaps towards the door as the hunters in the next room start moving towards their room (20).]

( Derek places himself right by the doorway, ready to surprise-attack the first one through, while Josh's eyes turn black, fangs setting in. He's ready! )

[The door bursts open, and three men burst into the room, with two more not far behind. E1 takes a shot at Hayley (19 vs. 12), and she takes the bullet with a whimper before charging the hunter with a snarl (2 vs. 12), the hit knocking her off balance and allowing him to dodge.

E2 turns on Derek, drawing his own weapon to fire at the wolf (13).

E3, in turn, shoots at the vampire, ready to get him away from the computer before he can do any damage (17).]
