[And with that, she'll hang up, and try calling Stiles herself. And he doesn't answer. So she leaves a voicemail. She'll try again later if he doesn't call her back.]

Stiles, call me. It's important, and I don't want to tell you this over text.

[But once that's done, she'll start making calls, to Isaac, Cora, the Winchesters, Jackson - everyone who she thinks needs to know about Allison knows soon enough.

Except maybe Chris. She's not sure she can make that call just yet.]

[phonetically]

( Contrary to what Cora might think, Stiles has thrown himself back into work. He hasn't spoken to anyone and you know what, that's what it's like when he's in his busy season. He knows he works his adversity best when he's working.

He's back in suits and meetings. He may have freaked out at his first murder scene in a month, but he thinks he played it off. Studying crime scene photos, he sees he missed a message from Lydia.

He gets halfway through the message before tapping the button to call her back, sitting up. )

[They wouldn't be as worried about you if you had done simple things like said goodbye or let them know where he was going. Just saying.

She's just finished making the arrangements with the Winchesters and Cora to drive down to New Orleans so that she can see Allison and Malia's bodies for herself. When she sees Stiles' name on the caller ID, she answers quickly.]

Stiles? Where have you been?

[phonetically]

( Say whatever you want whenever you want however you want. He's going through something and he'd rather literally try to work through it.

There's that pang of guilt he doesn't turn off, as easy as that might be. )

DC. What happened?

[beanchaointe]

Monroe hit New Orleans.

[She knows she should try to be more gentle about this, but she's never been good at dancing around things.]

Allison and Malia are dead.

[phonetically]

Allison - Allison's in Mystic Falls.

( She was in Mystic Falls. It hurts. Malia is more than his ex-girlfriend, she's a woman who he found a connection with, one that still means something to him. )

She was in Mystic Falls. But when Monroe started making moves and took Derek, Allison agreed to go as back up. I don't know all the details, but Scott said Klaus tried to get to them to help, and he was too late.

[And she trusts Scott, and didn't really want to know. She'll find out soon enough.]

I'm going with the Winchesters and Cora to New Orleans. We're leaving today.

[phonetically]

( He saw the texts. He just didn't reply to the texts. He wouldn't be of enough help until he gets his bloodlust under control. )

No, that's not how Allison goes. She took a sword through the chest. She survived the Oni.

( How one leads into the next, he doesn't know, but it should. )

Have you talked to Chris?

[beanchaointe]

No. I'm going to wait until I actually have the details.

[She can't just half-ass this call.]

I can let you know when I know more?

[phonetically]

Yeah. Please.

( He grips the phone and brings it down from his ear, clenching it hard before tapping speakerphone and slamming it down onto the table. )

Is it done? Is Monroe done?

[beanchaointe]

If she's not now, she will be soon. Scott said he convinced a good chunk of her army to leave New Orleans. It's just a matter of time.

[Good riddance, in Lydia's opinion.]

[phonetically]

Scott McCall coming in with the spare.

( He shuts his eyes and sits back, letting out a breath. )

Shit. Call me when you know more.

[beanchaointe]

I will.

[There's a pause, before she comes back.]

Look, Stiles, I get that you needed your space and you're dealing with a lot ... but you do know that you can tell us that, right? You don't have to just disappear.

[phonetically]

( He pinches the bridge of his nose. )

Disappearing wasn't a plan, it just - I went for a walk and then I had my bag and -- I just went back. I'm not hiding.

[beanchaointe]

But you're not responding, either.

[She pauses again.]

That sounds a little like hiding.

[phonetically]

Be there for Allison and for Malia. And leave Peter out of it, too, until we know exactly what happened.

( He shifts his wrist flexing his fingers. )

Not that I get to make that call, I just - bringing Peter in's not going to go anyone's way.

( Sighing. )

I know I don't need to tell you about Peter Hale.

[beanchaointe]

No, you don't. I haven't told him anything.

[But she knows one misguided alpha who could.]

But Scott might. You should call him and make sure he doesn't.

[phonetically]

Yeah. Okay. I'll call Scott.

( This day is just getting shittier. )
