( Her sister will, but her sister won't clue their dad in, either. She's thinking the same thing. )

Alaric pulls a family group Facetime together, dad-ing his way through technology when he should be keeping parent to parent personal. But he's on edge with this "lift." It surprises Lizzie who sits up, looks back at Danny and slides to the edge of the bed to try and frame the picture behind her.

She eyes her sister's square like, why Facetime? We're all clearly alive. )

[Josie is also very confused when her face pops up on screen, matching Lizzie's expression with one of her own.

But Jo very quickly declines the call. Is she in a consult? Is she under attack? We just don't know yet.]

( She sits up and slides forward giving Danny room to crawl away if he wants to answer his ringing phone.

"You girls stay put. I'll go to the hospital." And Alaric says it in his stern 'do not go off and be Legacies way' because the Chessboard is dangerous enough.

He waits until they each agree. )

( And once they agree, he ends the call.

Moving the coffee table, he flips back the rug underneath and elbows one of the loose floorboards. Pulling out a dagger, a small crossbow and one of his wrist stakes, he leaves the floor exposed as he grabs his sweater, keys, and leaves the house.

The narration assumes she isn't just arriving home or there on the other side when he opens the front door?

If not, he will head straight to the hospital and do a spot check from the parking lot (16) )

[He does not see his wife. Mostly because his wife is a Gemini witch, and when possible, they cloak themselves to avoid trouble. It's what Jo did the second that she clocked the hunters who were looking for "Dr. Gilbert or Dr. Katz," and they didn't clock her (6). At least, not until they got a phone call outing her (19, for whoever's running the show).

She managed to disappear in the meantime, and make her way down to the garage to try and get out of the hospital, but the hunters are everywhere, and Ric will definitely spot some of them wandering through the cars, checking license plates.

He also will see the door to the stairs mysteriously open and then close, but it doesn't seem like anyone comes out of it.]

( He parks close to the stairwell, but under the cover of darkness between street lights. With not being on the list, he doesn't try hard to mask his movements when he follows behind (6). )

[The hunters do seem to catch sight of him, and start to move towards him as a result (16). They make their way over to the truck, and one of the "smart" ones wraps lightly on the window.

"Hey, buddy? How long you been sitting here?"]

( He doesn't get to get out of his car. Great. Well. Once a hunter. He lowers his driver side window. )

Not long. Is this a handicapped space?

["Nah, you're fine. Just wondering if you saw a doctor come out of here? Long dark hair, kind of hot?"

Because when talking to a guy, it's all about varying degrees of hot, right? Also he could be talking about any of the three targets, we just don't know. Except maybe Katherine. She's not a doctor.]

( He doesn't know what targets there are besides his wife and Elena - and yeah, the other doctor would count, too, but he stays farther away from witch territory. That's his wife. He doesn't like it, either way, if they're talking about Elena or Jo.

He doesn't even have to lie. )

I haven't seen anyone come out.

( Hot or not. )

[The hunter nods, before patting the side of the truck twice. "I thought so. Thanks anyway, man." And with that, he'll wander back into the garage to keep looking. Once all the hunters seem preoccupied, the door will slowly open, then close.

Quietly, his wife speaks:]

Don't look, just drive away.

( He doesn't have to be told twice. He waves once at any remaining guys and starts the engine back up.

He does his best not to acknowledge there's a presence next to him as he pulls away from the garage (10), not daring to speak either. He wants to get his wife as far away as he can. )

[He might spot some hunters gathering together, pointing to the truck making it's escape, but the guy he talks to tries to wave them off. It's just a guy, no big deal.

Either way, they don't seem to follow him, and it'll take a couple lights, but eventually Jo drops the cloaking spell and turns to face him with a smile.]

[Josie will just worry about her Mom being safe in the meantime. She waits until Ric disappears and she frowns at her sister.]

Have anyone good with a computer nearby? We need to find out if we're on this list.

We could ask Wade.

( Or the Flying Monkey. Really, any of the boys. )

If we were on the list wouldn't we be under siege?

I don't know. It seems like they're picking off people while they're alone. I feel like they'd be too smart to attack a school full of supernatural students.

[Or they're not on the list. Either way is a win.]

So she's okay.

[That's good. And she was with Isaac and Caroline and Ryan, so hopefully they're all good as well. Then, her face drops out of frame as she goes to text Damon, just to be sure.]

[She'll send one to Elena too, and when the response comes back, she'll come back into frame again:]

Elena is fine. She's heading out of town to meet the Winchesters in Kansas.

No, we got a heads up from Klaus. Elena and Katherine got ambushed at the hospital but they got away and are heading to Kansas. We haven't seen any hunters.

[She's not going to bring up her mom just yet.]

Have to seize the element of surprise, I guess.

[Elena rolls her eyes, but fondly this time: Sam and Dean have a bunker there. We're going to use it to lay low.

Josie just just going to let the two of them sort it out and focus on her sister. Especially when Danny turns and says: "Looks like we're not on the list."]

I guess not. But looks like Mom might be.

( Hope, fully caught up (17), comes back, drying her wet hair but changed back into the clothes she wore that day. Her night clothes are still folded in her hands as she lets herself into her and Josie's room.
