I'm not sure. The spirits took away our ability to do magic as a punishment for trying to defy the natural order. Siphons are a loophole due to their magic not being innate. And Hope is a loophole because they needed her to destroy Malivore.
[There's a pause as she continues to walk, letting the wheels turn in the back of her mind.]
A universal loophole. ( That is something. ) She believes there may be something in yours, Hope's, and my chemistry. Something similar enough. Her plan is to find a vampire who was a witch, me, a witch who was a vampire - ( Rebekah. ) and maybe Hope. I've never properly asked how it feels to be a witch again.
[Because she is human and fragile, but at the same time she still has power.]
I didn't have my magic as long as you did, but it wasn't until after I started cultivating it that I realized it was always there. But it was like ... the weight of our vampirism was taking up all the room for power.
[Like a circuit, their magic was being funneled into keeping them alive, leaving no room for it to be used any other way, and once she took the cure, those streams of power were opened up again.]
But clearly people who aren't witches are turned into vampires, so that can't be the only option.
There are the two obvious Esther-approved options.
( But, that brings with it its' own set of problems. )
But, she prefers the body she was born into and insists on keeping her tether to her magic were she to ever be turned. ( So, they're between a rock and a ticking clock. ) All of this may prove moot if her disease progresses to the point where vampirism won't even take hold. ...Our arrangement was strictly business.
[But she has a feeling that this isn't something they discussed so much as happened, and now the layers of their proposal are getting more complicated.]
Well, whatever you need, if I'm able, I'll give it. And we can speak with Hope when we next see her.
Do you think she'll keep an open mind? Tearing her away from class under the guise of a family outing before we drop this on her?
( Kieran has been a better influence on Kol that he's actually thinking through this. What Hope has gone through has opened his mind to her plights and her struggles - and her "love life." )

( It's a whimsical thought, and one that could turn things in a more optimistic direction. It could give him the direction he's been lacking since Davina and San Francisco fell apart. But for now, helping Kieran and reuniting with his family is enough. )
[Not if it means having Kol around more. She's sure there's moments where they'll want to tear each other's heads off, but that's part in parcel of being family. She'll take fighting with him over him being far away any day.]
( It's a beautiful bookend to their walk, a quick pivot to let Rebekah know he sees she's happy and that makes him happy. Her liking Doc means he likes Doc. He's not Klaus. )
It's rare to find a person who isn't one of us who understands what it means to just ... lose chunks of time and have to adjust to the world that's changed while you were left behind.
