The only exception is a book. A record of curses. It's in my Paris apartment, in a safe behind a false wall. The codes are in that email. That book, needs to go to Josette Laughlin Parker. Her address should be in there, but it needs to be put into her hands - no one else. She'll know what it's for.
The email vibrates, lighting his phone screen but he doesn't check it.
He knows Josette's affiliation and history with the Colony, but he is David's lawyer and it isn't for him to question his last will and testament. He's only on the Colony's retainer, he is not their slave. And he doesn't react.
[David drums his fingers against his leg, silent for a long time because he's not sure there's anything to do. But he's been running the odds in his head for as long as he could, and the chance that he could wind up dead isn't zero.]
I don't think there's a way out of this. I have a plan, and it's going to get messy.
[He's going to cut the head off the snake, whatever it takes.]
Just look out for Ezra. He'll need someone in his corner if I'm not there.
( When David returned to the fold and took up his legacy once more, it was Harvey who was assigned to him and to Ezra. What started as a tense standoff on both sides grew into a real friendship for all three. )
From what I know, for now she's safe in a bunker with the Winchesters. But I think they're saving whatever they're planning for once they know who's won.

Making sure the door's closed before they talk, he activates an object David once provided him to cloak their conversation. He draws back a bead to one of his desk tchotchkes. It hits the four others, knocking the fifth back which returns and knocks the first. )
[Pushing everything because he wants to go to dinner, given life and death situations may be on the line? She would like to assume that it's just a friendly dinner, but that's not the vibe he's giving.]
Unfortunately I have something I can't cancel. Maybe another time?
( It's not, but he's missed his chance before. He tried. )

( He doesn't press the issue. He never has. They slept together the one time and they are much more than most people are together without that component. They still can be. )
