OK Kai took over mom's birthday on our sixteenth birthdays, thanks to Malivore, the necromancer, and some adolescent hormones. Like they said, Josie was dug out by uncle Luke, aunt Liv, Hope, and Penelope. This was the second of THREE times he took hold. MOM, is this anything like THOSE times.

What's the plan, Jo? Because I'm not spending Christmas with Kai.
For right now, Ric and I are going to stay here with him in Williamsburg. Once the big party and everything is done, Ric and I will bring him back to Mystic Falls and try and see if there's anything in the books on what's going on but no one will have to spend time with him who doesn't want to.
When Jo, the girls and Alaric were sent to the prison world, Kai emerged again and escaped, but not before forcing your niece to absorb some dark magic.
Long story.
I'm not convinced we should be "fucking worried" per Liv. Jo, you sound pretty... nonplussed.
I feel safe. He can't do anything to me without doing it to himself so odds are low I'm going to wake up with a knife in my gut. I'm honestly still processing because this is as new to you as it is to me.
Hopefully we'll have some better news after the holidays, when we've been able to feel out more of this.
To clarify, another, different bad guy had me casting some dark magic spells and storing the side effects in a sand clock so the dark magic I absorbed was really just the consequences of my own actions.
He can't stab Jo but he definitely could stab Ric with zero consequences. Are you really sure you want to be stuck in a hotel room with him for a week?
Of course I'm not sure about this. But I don't really have much of a choice. It's either that or have him wandering around causing problems for people like Bonnie or Elena or any of you.
I've lived with him in my head for almost twenty years. I can handle having him there in real life.
Alright, much as I am glad that all my siblings are getting their chance to be corruptive influences on my children, we have things to sort out here. If you guys run into any trouble, keep us posted and I'll do the same.
