But even that was relatively recent. I think we had almost a good decade before monsters started bothering Mystic Falls again.

That was also true in the nineties if you count Damon breaking bad. Glad we're keeping the streak alive.

[He doesn't know if Enzo knows what those are - he and Damon didn't before they met Lindsay. But Enzo's father was involved in the Armory so who knows what they dug up.]

[The timer goes off and Stefan nods, passing over a roll of tin foil as he goes to pull the last one from the oven.

It doesn't take much for them to get everything packed up and over to the Lockwood house. Once they're inside, and get the food to the kitchen, a wreath of blond curls pokes around the door.]

Hey, Salvatore. I owe you a drink.

[She then glances over and gives Enzo a friendly smile.]

Olivia Parker. Hitched your wagon to Lockwood yet?

( As in, did you get hitched? )

[It's a very indirect answer to the question, because yes, she and Tyler are still together but no, they're not married.

She passes a glass to Stefan after he drops off the food. She lifts her glass and clinks it to his before nodding to Enzo.]

Always. It's a celebration. A celebration without drinks is not a celebration at all. And, considering there are a number of us who are back from the dead, I'd like to avoid all signs of a funeral. So, merriment and drink. What say you, Stefan?

( Don't sadsack the day away! You already did a damn good job at the pasta! )

Jo giving all of us news when she doesn't have all the answers that mean it's going to be immediately fine? No, she doesn't do that unless she knows someone else is going to make her look bad. Like, for example, a certain vampire creating a group chat involving the boyfriend of one of her siblings who is absolutely going to spill the beans to her.

["Oh," Stefan smirks. "Is that all it takes?"]
