[She and Connor were a team once. Underneath all the shit she gave him, she trusted him, more than she had ever trusted anyone. Sometimes it's easier to keep your back to a wall than to let someone have it. She trusted Connor to have her back. She had feelings - feelings she didn't fully understand, but she had started to allow herself to think she might be able to keep.
And then Crisis happened and her life became something else entirely.
For a moment, she lets Connor kiss her, because she wants him to. Because she's missed him in this loneliness of being the only one who remembers, and she can't help but want to savor it, just a little.
But then something clicks into place - the Connor Hawke this world's Mia grew up with would never have kissed her, alone in a graveyard with JJ still smarting from the way their relationship ended. And this feels so familiar that she can't help but pull back and study his eyes again.]
( He pushes her hair out of her head, leaning in close. )
Well, I like 'em all.
( He pushes in, kissing her lightly, and as they part, much like a nice Buffy moment, there is someone there between them, gameface ready, and snarling.
Connor fails his DEX check (6) and shoved backwards onto the grass. )
[That's directed at the vamp - not Connor. Time for her to do her actual job, by spinning towards the vampire and trying to punch it right in the face (11).]
( New vampire vs slayer (7) gets him punched back.
"Why does the word 'sucks' sound so good right now," he says, throwing himself forward, trying to grapple her and take her down backwards, teeth bared. (10)
Connor uses his turn to kicklip up. Look who's woken up. )
[Mia sidesteps the dive (15), pulling out a stake and letting the vampire crash to the ground. She passes it off to Connor before retrieving her spare.]
Aim for the heart, shove it in as hard as you can.
[And with that she'll move forward to swing at him again, looking to keep the vampire focused on her and distract (2). Or at least that's the story she's going with.]
( The vampire blocks her trajectory but she still stakes flesh (15), just not the heart. So, the vampire attempts a headbutt (8), but the angle might make that fail.
Connor then swipes a foot to his head (19), (18) and he lands true, but not as hard or the angle that he wants. )
[Mia tips her head to the side, avoiding the headbutt (13). She shifts her weight again, and then tries to stake him again (14), ready for this fight to be done and for this vamp to be put to bed permanently.]
( He wouldn't know. He has experience with asshole humans or superhumans. Not vampires. Though, he feels more prepared for them now even if it feels like he's feeling himself through a different body. )
Easy, I'll crawl into bed with him when I get back. Have our own little private moment.
( A joke. )
What did you end up telling JR, or did you? And Zoe? Nobody knows about JJ, do they?
I think I know the second I say it, JR is going to ask me what she was doing in the future and ... I don't really know how to tell her she doesn't exist.
[She could lie, but lying to her about this doesn't feel right.]
Maybe. But I can't keep it a secret from her forever.
[Eventually it's going to come out and maybe it's better if Mia tells her willingly so she doesn't find out from someone else. She then tries to make it a bit lighter.]
Also, if you're going to keep kissing me, there's definitely going to be questions.

... Do you remember?

I remember everything. I remember us. ( One hand leaves her side. ) I remember JJ.

[Mia had a reason. Something that connected to the return of her memories. They were just standing in a graveyard and ...]
Mine came back when I became a Slayer.
[Which may add a little more context as to why she didn't want to marry JJ.]

( As for how, he brings a hand to his chin, fingers grazing along his lips as he looks down at her mother's grave. )
I first remembered Felicity. How she wasn't dead. Finding her. With you. And William. Does William remember?
no subject
But he knows that I do. Dad and Uncle Barry too.
[And the Slayers, to a certain extent, but they're not going to be running their mouths to the rest of the group.]
I haven't told anyone else.

( He becomes more tender, moving closer, lowering his voice like they're being heard. It's a personal moment as his hand returns to her side. )
It's like I'm seeing through fog.

[It'll probably take some time for Connor too.]
But sometimes I'm still not sure which Mia I am or am supposed to be.

[She takes the hand and letting him pull her to her feet. She stays close once she's there, trying to figure out what they're going to do next.]
How ... are you going to tell Quentin?
[She hasn't told JR and maybe she should. But Quentin is Connor's best friend, and it's his call whether or not he's going to include him.]

[And JR has been out of pocket so she hasn't had to think about it.]
And it's not this timeline's JJ's fault, you know? I didn't want them to treat him differently.
no subject
( He doesn't want to say anything, either. )
Probably won't tell Q everything. Wouldn't know where to start knowing Tommy and Laurel are both dead there. Is that weird for you?

Your call.
( All of it, anyway, is. Consent, kids! )
no subject
If you want to tell Q, you should tell him. I'll figure out what to do about JR.
[Divide and conquer is generally a good plan when it comes to the twins.]
