( She turns, the spell broken momentarily. She gives Cristina a "What?" face. Cristina indicates: Besnick, obviously. Ren returns with drinks, assessing the situation. She's going to defuse it. Because, tonight is about fun and not about the longing she just witnessed. Longing's a strong way of putting it, but her brother (and Meredith) don't look at people like that.
"Here," she says, setting another beer down and then the tequila. "Thought you'd be finished yours by now, Meredith," she says, indicating the untouched tequila soda.
Meredith looks away from Cristina, caught? Cristina recognizes Ren, but doesn't know much besides that, so, she joins.
"Nurse Bismark," she says, and finds the tequila soda. "Oh, is that for me?" she asks. It is now.
"Yang. Merry Christmas."
"Uhuh. Morgue guy," Cristina says, greeting Rob. Meredith makes a face at her. "He's the morgue guy. Fine. Rob. Attendant Besnick.")
( She's not heartless. He does clean up well, too. What doesn't she know, though. What's happening here? )
You've made an impression on the hospital.
( Which is more than she can say about any other people who work the morgue, say, at Seattle Grace. It's actually a compliment. He's also made an impression on Meredith? )
( Meredith gives her another look. What is she doing? Cristina ignores her, their back and forths stopping there before she takes her place at the bar. )

[He flashes her a smile as he resettles against the bar.]
Honestly, I'm surprised you know my first name.

[He'll take the impression on Meredith at least.]
So I take it you've worked with my sister?

( On some gnarly cardio cases. )
She knows her stuff.
( Meredith gives her another look. What is she doing? Cristina ignores her, their back and forths stopping there before she takes her place at the bar. )
We could afford to have her around more.

[He'll toss a smile at his sister.]
Though maybe she could be persuaded.

That's why I like being a surgeon. There is no wanderlust. Only focus. Cutting. Progress. Right, Mer?
( "Mhm," she answers. Cristina studies the situation for a second before turning to Ren. )
Actually, I've been meaning to talk to you. You helped me on a case I worked on and I wanted to get your input. From a nurse's perspective.
( This is entirely out of character for Cristina and Meredith gives her an equally exasperated look as Ren picks up what she's putting down.
"Please. I love talking shop at a party," she says, excusing her and Cristina from the conversation as they move to a table.
"Cristina. Cristina!" Meredith stage whispers. But Cristina ignores her. )

Is it me, or is she being more enigmatic than usual?
