It is a great car, as questionable as Dean's taste is in everything else.

[But Sam is tall, and that would likely be uncomfortable.]

And I didn't mean right this second. But at some point, since it seems like we're going to be sticking around for a while. And he probably has a place to sleep too.

But, later on that night, she returns to the Mystic Grill to order her and Lydia carry out because, there really is just one place to eat in this town, and who happens to be in one of the booths? )

[Turns at the sound of his name. He's out because sitting around the house with Cas as he stresses like a nervous parent getting Jack ready for his post-high school trip is not as fun as it sounds.

He left that to Dean and headed to the Grille to do some work where the people are.

He's not expecting to see Allison. Maybe he should have, but he wasn't.]

Allison, hey.

( Does that sound fun? )

Hey. Can I -

( Join? But, also hop on. You know. Totally casual implied questions. )

[It takes him a second to connect the dots before nodding, and pulling some of his stuff away from the opposite side of the table.]

Yeah. Yeah, of course. Make yourself comfortable.

( She'll shrug out of her leather jacket and slide on in. )

Thanks. Working on anything big?

[He shakes his head.]

A friend asked for help on some research for a hunt. I'm just keeping busy.

[He leans back in his seat after resettling the rest of his stuff.]

How's your friend doing? Stiles?

He's taking it better than all of us. He's at the school for however long he needs to be. I know I couldn't have seen him choosing to die, to not transition, but I expected maybe... he'd need time.

( And instead? He ran in feet first. )

We're all staying back now. I think for him, but also to -- press pause on everything. We've been running for... ( A really long time. ) I don't remember the last time I just -- stayed in the same place more than a week.

It's weird, isn't it?

[Sam's had that experience more than once.]

When you stay on the move for so long, standing still feels a little ... unnatural.

And wrong. It's like a betrayal of what I could be doing.

( Who she could be helping. She still has a network and her dad will run things while she takes a break, but, she'll still be answering E-mails and texts. )

[Breaks are good. Even if he and Dean are really bad at taking them.]

( She sits forward, resting an arm on the table. )

[He raises an eyebrow, trying to see what she's getting at - what is he up to or does he have a mysterious small town girl that's suddenly come back into his life:]

( She could go several places with this. She could ask about a small town girl. Or, any girl. She could ask about his work. Or, she could woman up. Lydia will have a story for later. )

Is there a small town girl you're here to romance?

He eyes her, weighing his options before answering.]

No. Not one from here, anyway.

[Allison technically still counts as a small town girl, right?]

( She could. She's more the transfer student, but, she was transferred to several small towns, including Beacon Hills. )

A nice girl from somewhere else? She sounds like a handful.

[He smirks as he leans back in the booth, drumming his fingers lightly against the table.]

But that tends to be what I'm into.

( She could text Lydia that dinner might be a little delayed should things move in the more horizontal direction. )
