Bela? Dead and buried. Until she isn't. I got over it. Bigger, biblical fish to fry.

( But, maybe, he really hadn't gotten over it. Maybe, he continued to repress and compartmentalize every shitty thing that happened, starting with his time in Hell. )

( His wired energy lowers itself again, finally bringing himself to turn to face Elena. )

I went to Hell. I - we tried everything to, to save my life and invisible mutts ripped me open. I was in Hell for months, but it felt like longer. Until Cas pulled me out. I didn't want to become a vampire. Didn't even think it would work. And she... I'm not telling your best friend what to do, but she needs to watch her back.

( He's not in the mood anymore, he's not - anything anymore. He heads back down the hallway to Elena's bedroom. He's exhausted. He needs a minute. He needs -- he's needed ten years worth of minutes. )

Bela. ( He speaks to himself like he still can't believe it, sitting on the edge of the bed just - floundering. )
