Hey. I'm okay. Katherine and I got out of the hospital without any trouble, but I don't think I'm going to be able to go home.

[She's not asking him to tell her where to go, but she's kind of asking him to tell her where to go.]

( Watch him just give the entire car a look with that, but it's not the point. If Katherine is safe in this scenario, Elena is safe. So, there's that. )

They got to you at the hospital. ( But, she's okay. ) Don't go home. Anything that's public knowledge is fair game. ( But, to that he does look at Sammy, figuring what isn't. ) What about the bunker.

Elena nods because bunker. Yeah, that sounds fine. Not depressing at all that once again she's running for her life.]

Far as we can tell, yeah. It doesn't look like they followed us out of the hospital.

Are you heading there now?

Yeah. We have Allison and Lydia. If they're on that list, too, then they can't go back, either.

( So much for all of their new Mystic Falls lives. )

[And when she hangs up she sees a missed call from Bonnie and sends her a text that she's alright. She then pulls up the directions when Sam sends her the coordinates.]

Looks like we're going to Kansas.

Kansas.

( Of all the no-nothing, backward, tumbleweed states, Elena. They could go anywhere.

Holding the wheel with one hand, she reaches into her pocket and pulls out her phone, looking down at it to unlock it before holding it out to Elena. )

Mind dialing Damian on speaker for me?

[Elena nods, before pulling up the number and hitting send. It rings twice before Damian answers:]

Everything go to plan?

What do you know about a supernatural list being circulated?

( And no she will not be talking about the girl, the demon, or the death. Just her and Elena's close shave first and foremost. )

( She doesn't ask details, nor does her fondness in private escape. They aren't alone. And she does not let her guard down around Elena Gilbert. )

In another car, Dean's back on his phone, this time he's calling Mary )

["It was not. I'll tell you about it when I get there." And to spare Elena the pain of them being flirty at each other, they'll say their goodbyes and he'll reroute to Kansas.

In the meantime, Mary picks up her phone as soon as she sees Dean's name on the caller ID.]

( It's always good to hear her voice, to know she's still top side and getting her second chance at life. She still lives her own life and that chafes but he can't keep her too close. It's not like he's in town all the time, either. )

Sammy and me are on our way back from New Orleans. Our Virginia spot's been burned. We have two in tow with us and maybe two more cars coming from Virginia. Gonna be a full house for a while.

Sounds like I should stock up on supplies then.

[She pauses because she has had a hint at why her son had been lingering in Virginia.]

( She spends time in the bunker when she wants to. Always has a place there when she needs it. )
