( Because she is one to perform every sidequest (she's a completist when it comes to the games Crash gets her to invest in), she first slips into the manager's office and does a cursory search for anything useful (16) )

[All the door takes is a jiggle and it opens, revealing a standard office. Computer, file cabinets, printer, etc. No people, just record keeping. But if she pokes around the desk, she might find the rather hefty bribe the crew has been using to hold their business here.]

( That could be useful. She folds that bribe and slips it into her jacket pocket.

She skips the bathrooms and heads down the staircase she anticipates will bring them closer to the dark objects they're intercepting. )

[As she reaches the middle of the stairs she picks up the sound of voices coming from further in the room. Stealth check, Alys.]

( She gets a whopping (5) as she makes her way down the stairs. )

[The voices stop (19).

"Did you hear that?" A few feet shuffle and footsteps are starting to come in Alice's direction.]

Invisique.

( she says quickly with a wave of her hand and the quickness of a (19) )

[Despite their fast appearances, they miss her performing the spell (15). Two male figures appear in the door, scanning the hallway for some sign of an intruder. The first one shakes his head.

"Could have sworn ..." But with that, he retreats back inside.]

( Well, she's going to take advantage and move further into the room to spy. The narration can let her know when or if she needs to roll to maintain. )

[The basement is a sea of crates and trunks, but set in the middle is round table around witch three people are playing cards and having drinks. Some boxes that do not match the crates are tucked into the corner behind the table, and she can sense a magical field wrapped around to protect them.]

( With swift deaths handed to anyone on the other side of the dark object they're attempting to acquire, she knows it would be cloaked or guarded, magically. The question is, are these hired grunts or adept users of magic. She wouldn't leave just anyone with such a dangerous killing device, but she isn't the brains behind this.

Doing her best to maintain her invisibility, she does her best to sense if they are magic (...2) )

[Well, there is lots of magic. She's currently wrapped in magic. There's a magical barrier wrapped around a good chunk of the room that obscures a lot of her senses, unfortunately.

And since the people she's trying to get a sense on are behind said barrier, hard to say if any of them are witches in their own right.]

( Trying to manipulate the situation, Alys casts a persuasion spell with her hands. Her goal: getting one of the card players to poorly cheat. Between the magic she's keeping up, the magic in the room and maintaining it all at the same time, she slips up (natural... 1) )

[seirenes]

[First things first, she loses her invisibility.

All of the sudden, she finds herself visible and exposed. Three heads snap to her, zeroing on the intruder where there isn't supposed to be one.

"Well, shit." Two of them get to their feet and one of them cracks their knuckles. "Thanks for the visit. I've been wanting to punch something all day."]

[lengthened]

( If this is where she rolls initiative, she gets a 3. But, that doesn't mean she can't quip beforehand in her slight, careless, even affectation. )

It's astounding how borderline mysoginistic you made that sound.

[They rolled higher (7) so unfortunately they do get to go first.

"Hey, those feminists are all about equality, right? I'm equal opportunity when it comes to people trying to mess with my pay day."

But to his credit, he doesn't immediately swing at her, but team up with his bro to try and hold her in place (13).]

( Having been caught off guard and dropping her cloaking spell, she's grabbed pretty quickly (4). Struggling against them, she tries strong-arming out of their grasp. (nat 20? these dice are something, let me tell you) )

[They get shoved backwards, caught by surprise when the witch is stronger than they thought. One of the grunts cracks his neck, before moving closer to try and restrain her again (19), while his partner grabs a chair and pulls her back to tie her down (15).

"Nice try."]

( His efforts prove fruitful as most of her strength was used when she shook them off of her the first time (15). She doesn't make it easy but she ends up in the chair (13).

Her next attempt is a headbutt to the one trying to tie her down. (14) )

[There's a cry of pain as his head snaps back (12). "Bitch!"

His partner grumbles, but does her best to keep things pinned down (19) while his friend recovers and finishes the job (13).

The third member of their little party swings around the back, wiggling her fingers as she does. "Someone else is coming."]

( One partner holds Alys back (5) as the friend returns and successfully ties her to the chair (3).

Planting her feet, Alys tries to kick herself back. It might hurt, but it also might break the chair if it works. It doesn't (7), she's easily caught. A bruised or broken nose leads to some righteous fury.

Doc and Dolls follow the sound of commotion down the hallway and down the stairs.

Doc has never been the quickest of studies, but the scene before him seems obvious. The woman restrained is working with Xavier, which makes the three others fodder. Unfortunately, Doc is not packing heat - as he is on the job, but he was gifted a baton after his first month working with Sara.

He extents it and goes for the closest (the woman?), swiping it across (7) )

[The one behind her catches her, forcing her back down into place (17).

Dolls is close behind, and he is packing. Taking advantage of the known silencing spell, he lifts the gun and tries to take a shot at the one holding Alys down (5), but the guy ducks out of the way (14) - upside, he's forced to put some distance between him and Alys.

His partner takes a swing for Xavier (19 vs. 18), and the punch connects, but Dolls holds his ground, his eyes starting to burn orange as a result, which makes the man blink. "The fuck?"

The woman sees Doc's baton and just glances out of the way (7), grabbing a stick of her own. She swings it in her hand and grins before coming in for a swing (6).]

( This is going to burn, but she'd rather her hands not be tied so Alys sets her spell on the ties binding her. However with the commotion and the excess magic, it may not work how she wants it. Might the guy behind her need to dodge? (7): )

Ignis.

( Doc attempts to swing his baton around to match her stick in order to bring her arm down so free her midsection for a blow. (18) )

[He does get singed a bit, forcing him further away as she breaks the bonds with her spell (5).

Dolls rounds up to swing on Muscle 1 (12 vs. 15), and the guy recovers from dragon surprise to duck and swing back (6 vs. 11).

Leader takes the swing to the gut (11) but twists to try and get a hold of Doc's arm and get him to drop the baton (9).]

( Doc flings his baton back in time (15).

Alys springs up, trying to kick her chair back into Muscle 2 (4).

Doc targets the Leader's knee (16), bringing his baton down. )
