( scott has honed many skills since high school. relevant to freya's interest, he took up cooking for himself and any wayward pack members he helped rescue or ferry. he doesn't have to be a witch to help with solstice preparation. he has always had precision, steady hands, it comes with being a vet - but it comes in handy in the kitchen, too.
kieran leans on the island, eating some of the leftover ingredients. she's having one of her bad days. they come and go and she tends to keep them to herself. but she is definitely paler, she made less effort on her appearance. still, she is here to eat and make useless colorful commentary. also to remind scott the tea is ready as the kettle screams.
the wave of white light presses forward, but instead of enveloping them, it just travels and keeps on, leaving scott, kieran, and freya blinking.
freya reads from an old parchment as scott returns to speed slicing herbs close to freya's knee. he holds the knife up with a 'what' gesture? a faint itching starts at the base of freya's chin, but then it goes away.
[Kieran had been on her way to turn off said kettle, but finds herself pausing mid-way, when she turns to look at Freya. Her eyes widen and she lets out a bark of a laugh before holding up a hand.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry but ... you need to see your face right now."
Freya frowns at her, before getting up and making her way over to the reflective fridge, eyes widening when she sees the plume of feathers coming off her chin.]
Well that is - ah -
[The sneeze comes violently and feathers fly everywhere across the kitchen, obscuring everyone's view.]
[She dodges to the side (11), trying to get clear of the knife, but she is a thin human witch and there's a chance she might not be able to get clear in time.]
[And that's where Freya cuts off when she feels herself being stabbed (2). The knife comes out of nowhere, and one hand comes out, trying to find the arm attached to it so they don't pull it back out again.]
- Don't take the knife.
[It's not in a good place and she doesn't want to bleed out.]
( He feels it first, knowing what it feels like to stab someone, on purpose or not. He freezes, his own eyes closing, feathers still blanketing the room. )
( She nods to himself, hand letting go of the knife, finding the kitchen counter. )
I don't know the layout - I -- ( Wait. His normal eye color shifts, red shining through, piercing the feathers enough for anyone to see him and helping him navigate his way like nightvision. ) I think I can get there. Just tell me where to go.
[Kieran, however, does make note of layouts, especially when they're going to be somewhere for a while, and she doesn't want to stumble onto one of Kol's brothers, or she needs to borrow Freya's witch supplies.]
There's a tool box with various vials. You can follow your nose to the blood.
( They'll get to the bottom of what this is after.
His first attempt as he pushes his way through the flowers, hoping to find the hallway, is to bump into Kieran (5). )
Sorry. The flowers, they're dense.
( He sighs, moving his hands from her shoulders and turning again, concentrating.
It takes him some maneuvering, but he manages to not stab anyone else as he emerges from the cascade of flowers (10) and rushes to the second room on the right.
Being a werewolf has him zeroing in on the tool box and the vials (18) and he finds the right one labeled before returning to the flowered kitchen. )
Freya?
( He calls out as he steps back into the floral maelstrom. )
( Everything happens at once, Scott brings the vampire blood in for the handoff, Davina, Freya, Kieran, and Klaus all lock eyes with one another, the flowers pulsate, having been parted like the red sea.
Klaus' eyes go wide, as he takes in the sight.
He is at the entrance to the kitchen at once, pushing away his impulse to threaten Kieran and Scott because they would be foolish to go after Freya so close to her siblings.
Eyes above them and around as he moves forward, Klaus questions:
[Freya very calmly takes the vial from Scott and pops it open before doing a quick one-two - one, pulls out the knife, two downs the vampire blood. She grimaces a bit with the first, but she doesn't bleed much as the wound stitches back together.
The calmness is more for Scott and Klaus' benefit than her own, but it'll take more than a little knife wound to bother her.]
("They grew from Freya's - beard," Scott half-stammers. With the stabbing not having taken a victim, the flowers drop to the ground, riddling the kitchen floor. )

[No she's not. She feels Kieran hand come up to rest against her side, and she reaches forward to squeeze Scott's arm.]
Scott, I need you to go to my bedroom. In my spell ingredients there's a vial of vampire blood.
[You never know when you might need it, after all.]

Ventus.
[The gust of wind scatters the flowers, giving a clear path to Scott to get where he needs to be.
But it also unfortunately gives a clear path for Klaus and Davina to see Freya sitting there with a knife in her stomach, and Kieran's eyes go wide.]
Shit.

( Klaus, too, needs to change as well, if you haven't noticed. So, he takes his own leave and changes. )
