( The spell starts to crackle. No, it starts to completely crack.

Lizzie is in tune with the spell, it's as if she herself is carrying it. It feels like she is, like she is weaving it, trying to keep it together, but it's relentless. She swears something swipes at her as she pulls Isaac closer. Is she speaking? She wants to yell, but the incantation is locked in and the spell itself is taking over. A bright, blindingly white, light appears, but before she or any of them can do anything it explodes, careening in all directions.

Lizzie shields her face with her arm, her other hand clutching Isaac's.

When she brings her arm down, she sees they're still on the roof of their school building, but her friends and Bonnie and Danny are all gone. The colors are all wrong, cement grey and night greens and blues are inverted into an etheral pink glow. And the painted red line is now yellow. She squints, next looking to Isaac, afraid to let go.

Isaac, make a will save. )

[Isaac is not himself at the moment. He may still be curly haired, but he's much shorter and he can't exactly confirm or deny his status at the moment (13).

And that is because Isaac is a sheep. So what Lizzie actually is holding onto is a handful of wool and he looks back at her with a mournful bleat.

( Hope feels the shift of pervading doubt overwhelm their efforts. She knows how magic like this works, magic has to have intention, be it good or bad, but if there is doubt, if confidence plummets? Who knows what will happen. By the time she opens her eyes, Danny's practically in her lap, fighting something off. )

( She tries holding him close with one arm, but reaches forward with her other, trying to grab at anything, finally wrapping fingers around one of the rune stones, lifting it, she smashes it to try and end the spell and a bright white light engulfs everything.

As the white light dissipates, the first thing Hope hears is the faint crooning of Nora Jones - or is that Enya - but as if they were echoing in a tunnel. Everything comes into focus as she still holds Danny, both sitting cross-legged, but as her eyes come up, she sees a mirror in front of them. She notices first that Danny has grown up - not by much, only noticeable in his build of muscle, the chisel of his chin, even the broadness of his shoulders. She'd guess three, maybe four years. Even his hair is slightly different. Not as unkempt, like his biggest priority isn't taking on his family's birthright alone.

Immediately, she sees someone she doesn't recognize sitting behind him. But as she frowns and turns her head, eyes going wide, she realizes she is the someone she doesn't recognize.

We as the audience recognize her as Bridget, Danny's late sister. To Danny, Hope is still Hope if he looks at her directly, but in any mirror, she reflects the image of his sibling he lost too soon.

That faint music they now both here gives it quite the eerie touch. )

( "Hope" lets go of him and scrambles away, giving Danny space.

Patrick Brighton knocks on the door, the already ajar door swinging open further. It's as if Danny can see what happened, even though he wasn't there to witness it, three gunshots ring out like they're right in front of him and his father's body crumples onto the stage. But it doesn't. It didn't. It can't have, because he's right here in front of him.

"Sorry to interrupt the sentimentality," Patrick says, dressed for an occasion of some sort. )

No, please. Interrupt... We're done with sentimentality.

( "I couldn't help but overhear," he continues.

Hope just leans her head forward, in the mirror, Danny's sister Bridget, doing the same. She's never been great with context clues when it comes to these kinds of scenarios. And they usually involve, well, her. But, she can play along. She has no choice.

"Your sister's right." Okay, so, she's Danny's sister? "You're turning twenty-one and you're ready. She wouldn't have recommended you if she didn't think so." )

No. I wouldn't - have.

( Recommended him. For whatever.

"Now, go on, get ready and get dressed. You'll be late for your own birthday party and you know what your mother will say." Patrick smiles at them, leaving them alone.

Okay. It's Danny's 21st birthday. That's his dad? Hope is his sister... in this. And they were having an entirely too cute sibling bonding moment Hope has never had because she has no siblings. Got it. Check. Guess it was about time she went on someone else's vision quest. )

[Danny blinks, trying orient himself on where he is and what is happening. He glances over to Hope and tries to reconcile who she's supposed to be with who she is. The auburn hair is close enough that they could be the same person.

Bridget's a bit taller and slimmer, Hope despite her curves has sharper edges. But the hair is the same and when his father appears, Danny is willing to go along with it. He doesn't notice the change in age or the change in appearance, he just sees his father and he takes two steps forward and throws his arms around him tightly, needing to cling to whatever this is because he may never have it again.]

( Alice hears Bonnie's voice, but doesn't see her. Josie can see Bonnie. And both Alice and Josie have lost track of the others as well. They are the only three on the roof. Or, if you're Alice, two, because - where did Bonnie go? For whatever reason, Alice can only shout when she speaks. Bonnie is just shouting because the spell exploded. )

[Is she shouting because she's freaking out or is she shouting because of the magic, maybe a little of both.

Josie just looks confused, and she blinks back at Alice. "What are you shouting about? She's right there." Josie gestures in the direction of Bonnie. So Josie can clearly see her and presumably Bonnie can see herself.]

After the light surges, it leaves behind a faint glow - no that's not a glow, it's flame. Dolls is on fire. All of Doll's is aflame. Wynonna's exclamation is nullified by a trickle of bubbles that float from her throat when she tries to yell. Confusion sets in as she attempts to yell something else and bubbles fiercely exit her mouth. She resorts to pointing, over and over again.

HIM. HE'S ON FIRE. )

[Fortunately, the eighteen years they've been apart has been good in Dolls getting a handle on his dragon-ness. It took time, but he's managed to make the parts that have been forced into his DNA work for him.

It also means being on fire doesn't bother him as much. He waves his hands at Wynonna, indicating that he's fine - her bubble situation is much more concerning. But before he can do more than that, his eyes glow orange, and he starts absorbing in some of the flames, orange flaring light glowing up over cracks in his skin.]

( Dolls offers to buy the chanteuse a drink, leaving Waverly and Aalis at the table. He knows this will take some time and this is Wynonna's reckoning, not his. What looks like bright headlights drives up to the back entrance, but doesn't stop. He pulls Serena into him, thinking a car is about to crash, but no car comes, only an enveloping white light. )

( As he lets go, Doc finds himself losing his stance. )

What in the -

( No, not his stance, all his balance as his arms flail and he grabs on to the edge of the bar. Unfortunately, his legs slide on the ground like it's been slicked with oil and he drops below the bar.

Serena, be careful, absolutely anything you touch will not help the situation. )

Oh my god!

[She turns to grab hold of the bar, feeling her heels also slip on the outskirts of Doc's oil slick. Unfortunately for her, however, the bar is made of wood. The second her hands make contact, small flames burst around her fingers, and she screams before stumbling backwards.]

( Aalis bought she and Waverly a round, insisting they do a shot. It's only fair. Waverly brings Dolls his drama, she gets to break bread with Aalis. So-to-speak, she's not clear on if there is food here or not. If there is, they should order, though, shouldn't they? Two pretty women sitting together shouldn't waste the opportunity, doesn't Waverly think?

A bright, blinding light frames Waverly's features, and then her body. Aalis has never been this taken by a person before. It's too late, before she knows it, this isn't Waverly's appeal, it is something Otherworldly and it engulfs them both.

The light goes out and Aalis realizes she's been gripping her chair, knuckles white. It's too similar to something she's encountered before, but don't ask her what it was. She puzzles over that thought as her eyes go wide. The woman at her table has floated a few inches out of her chair. Aalis shifts, her eyes searching her surroundings. She slides her chair back frantically, stopping herself from falling backward. )

Wh-what's going on? What are you doing? What's happened?

[Waverly is likely not helping matters, because the minute she starts taking flight, her body starts reacting instinctively. As her feet lift off the ground, her wings slip out from behind her shoulder blades - large black feathered wings that give her the impression of something terrifying.]

I'm ... flying. But I'm not doing it on purpose. I think there was some kind of magic flair?

( Everything happens all at once. One minute, Lydia is trying to pry into what's going on with Stiles, his settling down, his sudden disappearance, and then reappearance and he was all too happy to meet back in Mystic Falls. Has he spoken to Cora? And the next, Stiles stops what he's saying, rushes Lydia off of the sidewalk and asks Harvey to hold the door!

Harvey, recognizing distress and the two of them instantly has no choice but to hold it open, Donna also caught there, too. The light shoots into the lobby separating the two parties, sending Stiles and Donna somewhere and knocking Harvey and Lydia across the marble floor.

The light leaves as the door shuts and the glass shatters. Harvey catches his breath. )

Donna?!

( Logically, he knows Lydia didn't cause this, she was running away from the big explosion but something in his entire system is telling him to stay away from the impeccably dressed redhead. So much so, that he runs around the guard station and picks up the phone. )

Stay right there. What did you do with Donna?

[She and Stiles were on their way to dinner. They were going to have a normal night while Bonnie and Isaac worked on their magic thing, and once they were done, they would figure out where they were going next.

Hopefully to Boston, so Lydia could take stock of her life again, but she knows that something might come up again. Naturally, magic would come along, trying to ruin her evening. She and Stiles had run for the nearest building, trying to get off the street, and there had been someone coming out the door, but the magic hit, Stiles was gone, and now she's left alone with a man who's naggingly familiar, albeit wearing a very nice suit.]

I didn't do anything with Donna. But I'm willing to bet whatever happened to her happened to my -

[Her voice cuts off when her hands start to glow, warmth tingling in her fingers. Panicking, she turns them away from the man in the suit and watches as five globules of magic fly towards the plane glass exterior of the building shattering one of the panels and setting off a car alarm nearby.]

- And I didn't mean to do that. I didn't even know I could do that.

( The blast surges forward, knocking Stiles and Donna into an open elevator. The doors close with a ding, the elevator traveling upward.

Recovering, Stiles cracks the joints in his neck, and resets his own shoulder. He notices shortly after that there's something hovering around him, following where he's facing and looking, an electrified, ethereal cloud of white. )

Uh, OK. Do you - are you seeing - not spots but --

( He blinks, grabbing the railing to pull himself up. As he moves forward to help Donna, an electrical surge shoots out of her and, thankfully against whatever is covering Stiles. Unthankfully, it enters the elevator and then the elevator controls, shutting it down completely. The elevator goes dark and then the emergency red light goes on.

Stiles stops his cowering once he realizes he was safe. )

So, I was trying to save you, not -- trap you.

[Donna's looking at her hands as she studies him, because electrocution is not part of the vampire starter pack. And she's been a vampire for a long time. She holds up a finger and puts herself on the opposite side of the elevator, just to be on the safe side.]

And it wasn't personal. Probably a result of whatever it was that was happening out there.

( scott has honed many skills since high school. relevant to freya's interest, he took up cooking for himself and any wayward pack members he helped rescue or ferry. he doesn't have to be a witch to help with solstice preparation. he has always had precision, steady hands, it comes with being a vet - but it comes in handy in the kitchen, too.

kieran leans on the island, eating some of the leftover ingredients. she's having one of her bad days. they come and go and she tends to keep them to herself. but she is definitely paler, she made less effort on her appearance. still, she is here to eat and make useless colorful commentary. also to remind scott the tea is ready as the kettle screams.

the wave of white light presses forward, but instead of enveloping them, it just travels and keeps on, leaving scott, kieran, and freya blinking.

freya reads from an old parchment as scott returns to speed slicing herbs close to freya's knee. he holds the knife up with a 'what' gesture? a faint itching starts at the base of freya's chin, but then it goes away.

[Kieran had been on her way to turn off said kettle, but finds herself pausing mid-way, when she turns to look at Freya. Her eyes widen and she lets out a bark of a laugh before holding up a hand.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry but ... you need to see your face right now."

Freya frowns at her, before getting up and making her way over to the reflective fridge, eyes widening when she sees the plume of feathers coming off her chin.]

Well that is - ah -

[The sneeze comes violently and feathers fly everywhere across the kitchen, obscuring everyone's view.]

( In an effort to get fresh air and to give the Mikaelson's a moment, Davina takes time on the terrace. She has not been in such close quarters before like this with the Mikaelsons. Uneasy alliances and fatherly gestures aside, she doesn't like it and she won't be running for head of the HOA any time soon.

As she usually does, she stumbles onto Klaus, phone in hand, thumb grazing his lower lip, like he'd just received a phone call.

Before either of them can say something, the blinding white light phases through the both of them.

Bringing his phone down, his finger runs along his side gently, leaving a trail of steam Klaus doesn't see, but Davina can. Klaus turns to see if the white light is gone, it is. His fingers tap against his hip, each tap creating another line of steam. He turns back, frowning.

And that's when it happens, Davina sees the wisp of a flame and then an entire line. It trails along where he's grazed himself, innocent, and unbothering.

[She wants to ask about the phone call. She wants to understand the look on his face so they can see the next problem coming. But she can't really go further than that before pointing to the problem and calling his attention to it.]

[And she doesn't mean that in the metaphorical encouraging way. She also doesn't say that with the urgency that she probably should, but when it comes to Klaus, the worse that will happen to him is that his clothes will get damaged.]

[Not that you can outrun wild magic. It will find you when it finds you, but maybe there's a chance, if you get out of the way that you won't get hit as hard. Her mind is whirling, trying to think of where that might have come from and what might have triggered it, but she grabs Kol's arm and tries to pull him towards the nearest building, vamp style.

If they do get hit, she prays that the side effects are minimal.]

( Elijah and Cami have retired to the rooftop bar of their luxury building. The drinks were abysmal, so Cami compelled the bartender to go on an extended break. Elijah makes a better drink. No one is surprised.

The light is faint at first, the group laughing about something or another before one by one they all watch it grow brighter and brighter, expanding. )

What do you make of that?... Should we?

( Elijah makes the executive decision, pulling Cami over the bar and taking cover. The light travels over the bar, into them and keeps traveling, pulsating into the night leaving them all crouched.

Elijah opens his eyes first, the bright white still gathered around his eyelids. )

Are you alright? There seems to be a lingering effect on my vision.

( That, or Elijah now grows as bright as that light, if not brighter. Cami, don't turn... )

[She doesn't turn. She does, however, catch Elijah's reflection in the glass door not far form her, because it's hard to miss the bright glowing person behind her. Turning around to verify seems like a bad idea, so she just keeps her eyes forward and points to the reflection.]

( When asked who wanted to converse with who, both Rebekah and Julian would say the other wanted a word, but in reality, they seeked each other out mutually to spend time. Rebekah's brother is smitten with his sister and that entangles him semi-permanently in quite the eccentric, drawn-out family drama that seems to be the Mikaelson's.

So, they meet in the courtyard in the middle of their building's lobby, sitting next to a fountain. )

Thank you for putting Kieran and me up.

( He doesn't... know what she knows about his own bad decisions. He's not going to bring them up right now. Maybe never. )

Look, I don't know your brother, but I can see my sister's --

( He pauses, distracted, looking past Rebekah out the window. )

That's a wave of - Rebekah!

( Well, that gives them no time to react as they're both engulfed in the blindingly white light that comes and goes as equally as quick. He lets out a shaky breath. )

Don't. Move. Anything - fucking - anything can happen.

[This is likely not the first time she encountered wild magic. She's old enough there's not much of anything she's managed to avoid, and there are a lot of ambitious witches that attempt ambitious spells.

This is her first time experiencing it as a human witch, however, so she can't help but be a smidge concerned. She holds out her hands out at her side and waits to see what happens, and when it stretches into nothing ...]

Well, at least no one's turned into a potted plant this time.

the right doppelganger | rhett, lindsay, damon, and stefan

( Rhett kicks at the dirt under him, trying to will the captured brothers awake with his insistence. The vervain injected keeps him weak, but he is not toothless.

Lindsay sits, wrists bound with spelled shackles for a slayer of any strength.

Damon, passed out, has been tied to a post almost within kicking distance of Lindsay. Stefan sits, slumped over, wrists tied with vervain-soaked rope, in a salt circle of some sort. An IV has been slipped into his arm as his blood drops into a nearby vessel.

It's clear to both Rhett and Lindsay from the light piercing through the slats above, they are underground. From the smell, they are under a barn of some sort. They had hours to deduce what is going on until they overheard the Gen-A assistant and the witch who'd taken them all chewed out because he let the wrong vampires go. They weren't the targets, which meant the Salvatores were still targets.

This is even more evident now that they're all together again.

Rhett wonders if Damon and Stefan remember the morning's events. As they were all involved until the witch did something. Knocking them out most likely. )

Can you reach him? Stefan. Damon.

[Lindsay sighs, because as much as disrupting that spell seems like a good idea, it's probably not. Especially when she doesn't know what the spell does, so sorry Stefan, she's going to leave you there for right now.

What she will do however, is swing her leg around and kick Damon in the leg as hard as she can. And given that she is a Slayer, that is very hard (18).]
