[Serena will happily follow this line of conversation.]
The cartoon, eh. I do love some me some Javier Bardem though.
[Dolls can already see this slipping away and they need to stay on track. "Can we focus please? We need to figure out where that magic came from and how many might be affected."
Once a guy giving orders, always a guy giving orders.]
(Less than five seconds. Doc agrees, though. He can keep things on the track so-to-speak.
"Aalis, might you be able to pinpoint where the wilde magic with an e came from?"
Aalis, while not lost in the pop culture, is quite bored of the pop culture. She is a purist as things come out, so she likes original black and white films, old animation. Why fix what isn't broken. But, being a woman of New York the past few decades, she greatly appreciates theatre, and always has. She remembers when Shakespeare was performed by all men. But The Little Mermaid still slaps.
Not the point, though!
"I can try, with Xavier, since it drew itself to him, innately," she says, stepping around the chairs, and then over one, stepping up and back down, back to the entrance, offering her hand. Once they make skin to skin contact, she attempts a retracing.
But, between his dragon attributes and the botched original spell, she gets a (1), which only gives her flashes of who's involved and then knocks the lights out completely.
In the pitched dark, she opens her eyes again. She only recognizes one person in her flashes.
"Young adults are involved, none I recognize, but there is also... a Bennett witch.")
Aalis gets three blank stares at that information as Dolls (9), Waverly (2), and Serena (6) can't exactly put a face to that bloodline. Though Dolls gets the closest, holding up a hand as he tries to process that.]
Because it should, if you run in those circles, which, clearly, none of you do. She derives her power from her family line. And she assisted in this spell.
( The one that went entirely wrong. Bonnie Bennett hasn't come up in conversation with Doc (16), as he is more adjacent to anything, but Wynonna (16) is well-versed in the name, Bennett.
"My father knew a Bennett, Erma, or Elma. Elma Bennett." Wynonna says. )
Could be the same.
("Bullshit. They're the same. They have to be the same. Coincidences don't exist in Purgatory, and I'm willing to bet they don't ever exist, not in our worlds." Wynonna gestures, throwing an arm out to make her point. )
[Dolls looks over at Wynonna and Waverly, and his expression goes blank, almost as though he doesn't know what to make of it. This isn't how he wanted to come back into their lives, but it's how it happened.]
I'm not sure if there's anything I can say that will keep her from doing that anyway.
Just take credit. Own that you tucked your tail between your legs, blamed Black Badge and Bulshar and a third bitch-ass B on the decision you made. You and Jeremy.
( She's almost past it, deflating with every word, but mostly because the bubbles took it out of her. )
[Him making a choice. Jeremy kept him apprised, but he never came back. He knew it was going to hurt them which is why he wanted to avoid this conversation in the first place.]
But my choice was lab rat or not and I chose not. And I'm not sorry for that. I am sorry that you found out this way, because this wasn't how I would have wanted it done.
[Waverly looks back over at him, and she has to agree with her sister on this one. "Eighteen years is a long time, Dolls. Alice is a whole person now."
Dolls looks back at her and trying to tell Waverly no is one of the hardest things to do, because more often than not she's not wrong. And it's like kicking a puppy.]
You were in the Garden. By the time you got back, I was settled in with the Underground, and ... I didn't think you needed me.
[Waverly gives him a soft look. "Need and want aren't the same thing. Maybe we didn't need you, but we would have always wanted you."]

Bennett witch - why does that sound familiar?
[Sorry Aalis.]

[She's not going to put all their money on there being only one Bennett in the entire world. Dolls agrees.
"Whoever it is, hopefully they have a way to fix this. But for now, how long do you think until this all blows over?"]
no subject
( She can feel it. )
This was far-reaching but not far-acting.

[He glances around at the patrons who are starting to trickle out at the sign that everything is safe, and he nods.]
Then we should probably get out of here too.

( Just a suggestion, Dolls.
"Respect on Carrie Underwood," Wynonna says. "But, I'm more embarrassed for a woman that can't shoot whiskey." )

( It's harsh and abrupt, but he needs to hear it. )

[He's owned it. He's apologized for how it happened. But he can't change it, so where does this roundabout end.]

( Is that enough at this point? It's all she has right now. )

[He moves over to the bar and reaches for a napkin. He scribbles down his number and passes it to whichever Earp will take it.]
You call that, you'll reach me. Anytime, day or night. But I move around a lot for work so I can't guarantee where I'll be.
no subject
Answer the flipping phone. That's your guarantee. Barring that, sending something within the day, week if it's dire, but you have a short leash.
no subject
[But don't worry, Wynonna. Unless he's unconscious, he always answers his phone.]
Guess I'll see you guys around.

( She moves forward, stops in front of him and then yanks Dolls into a hug before beckoning Waverly and Doc if he wants in, too. They are a family. )
