My clients either do what I say, or say damn it all to hell and do what they want. And sometimes, that screws me over. But, I do my damnedest to make sure a client stays in line.

Other clients... are loyal themselves and only themselves. You learn that the hard way and become their enforcer. Legally. I don't care what cured Elena Gilbert in Mystic Falls. But my clients were sure as hell curious.
Nothing is enough for the Colony. And I've learned that the hard way.
( David's herbs have helped with keeping magical ears at bay to help him separate between work and his real life, but most of the time, it feels like he works for the mob and that's never what he wanted. )

Look, we may be reaching the end of the line for the Colony in this form. Until then, I'm going to have to dot my i's and cross my t's. Like dropping in on Mystic Falls and impersonating the local DA.
