I think we need to keep in mind that these bodies were buried at least three centuries ago if not more. The traps they placed there could have been lost to anyone but the Inner Circle. And they might not have used the same thing twice.
We'll be more careful moving forward, now that we know what's out there. But that doesn't change the choice that Lydia has to make. And I don't have any of those answers for you.
