( Jackson's just walking the aisles. Sussing out where he should sit, knowing full well he'll be by Abernathy, his son, and a redheaded party crasher who is not subtle about her interest in Alexander's father. )

We haven't. She's worked with displacement?

( Replacement. Rescue. Name it what you want.

He helped in the lower level of, triple checking names and folder packets and then working security on each team as they headed out. But Alexander is right, Jackson wants a bigger piece of the pie. He likes it hands on, but things all happened at once. He's looking forward to really coordinating.
)
swillpot: (and if you ask us)

[personal profile] swillpot 2025-03-21 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
She has, sometimes. More specifically, she's a charm bomb.

[They usually send her in with their less charismatic members to help handle people.]

She is also the niece of our actual head of logistics, Annie, and if Serena likes you Annie will be fifty percent less likely to give you shit.

[But only fifty percent, as giving shit is Annie's love language.]
illtempered: (keep their gaze)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-05-19 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
( Jackson will decide if someone is a charm bomb. Or not. )

Then let's go for fifty-one.

( He approaches, with his boyfriend in tow, and a glass of champagne in one hand. Serena's conversation seems to hit a lull, so now's as good a time as any. )

Serena.
seirenes: (13)

[personal profile] seirenes 2025-05-24 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah?

[At first the response is just an off-hand response to the sound of her name, but when she locks in on who's talking to her, she glances from Jackson to Alexander and then her eyebrows go up.]

Oh, hey, you're Jackson, right?
illtempered: (happy reunions)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-05-28 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm Jackson. ( and she knows Alexander. ) I hear you and your aunt handle logistics. I want to make a bigger contribution to the department, actually organize - keep an eye on the displaced. I think I could clean it up, streamline it. ( a beat. ) Help.

( it wouldn't be Jackson if he didn't minorly insult the thing he's trying to help. but he comes from a genuine place and for jackson's that's something. )

[personal profile] seirenes 2025-05-29 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
[She considers him for a moment before nodding, pulling out the chair at the table next to her and patting the seat.]

Step into my office.

[She then flashes him a smile.]

Tell me what you have in mind.
illtempered: (hanging enthrall)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-03 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
( Happy with himself, he takes an adjacent chair. )

I think we can be better help than we are. Right now, we step in as the last resort. And then we help. But, these people need a pipeline they can count on. I think giving them a department they can communicate with discreetly will go a long way to keep them safer. Maybe even put them more at ease. It's not enough to take them somewhere else. I think they should be assigned someone. Someone that can help if the shit hits the fan. Or something comes up. I think that can be a department. And I want to run it.
seirenes: (4)

[personal profile] seirenes 2025-06-04 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Let's talk logistics.

[Her aunt may be the specialist, but she's no slouch.]

How large a department are we talking? Do you think every case we handle requires this kind of outreach? Because if we're going to do something like this for everyone, that's way too much for one person.
illtempered: (you should do what i say)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-04 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I need hard numbers. It wouldn't just be me, and we'd need - for lack of a better term - case workers. By region. You could put them in tiers. Def-con 1, they need hands on help at a moment's notice. Def-con 4, there's a hotline they can leave a message - a dummy number - that tells us they need a call back. Or, if they need it, an in-person option. I don't know how realistic it is to go back and implement this with everyone - but, we have to know what groups are Def-Con 1. We could start there, retroactively. But, form a system from here on out.

( A beat. )

I think it deserves a pilot program.
seirenes: (11)

[personal profile] seirenes 2025-06-09 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Serena blinks, glancing over at Alexander and he nods. "We were thinking of using the Kirsanov rescues as a starting point."]

Oh. Okay. That's a pretty wide footprint and if we're testing this we're probably not going to want to take on new manpower so we may have to work in regions for what we can't outsource to people on the ground. We already have touch points in some areas. The Salvatore School in Mystic Falls -

[ "Melissa in Beacon Hills."

Serena nods.]

But some areas we don't so we'll need people who are good at people.

[Alexander nods. "I was thinking you, Taylor and Sweets?"]

Cordy. Maybe Gloria and Benny. But we still might have to do some recruiting for some areas where they don't do too well with new people, like Purgatory.
illtempered: (eye closing)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-09 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
We have the in for Purgatory now, right?

( The woman with zero manners. )

Is Cordy the one who goes everywhere with the broad shouldered quiet guy? ( Hair always gelled. ) If we isolate where we're lacking, I have contacts. And those contacts have contacts. Scott spent years helping shapeshifters on a smaller scale. I have contacts in London - branching into Europe. I can match people. ( A beat, and then with determination. ) I can do this.
seirenes: (9)

[personal profile] seirenes 2025-06-13 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Purgatory is a little TBD.

[Yeah, Serena isn't sure about having Wynonna as their contact given her ... relationship to a lot of the supernatural creatures in the Triangle, but that's something they can address at a later date.]

I agree. I actually think this is a good idea, I just want to account for all of the logistics. And yes, that's Cordy.

[She holds up a finger.]

Let me talk to Annie when she gets back from Mystic Falls and she can pull a full list of the people and areas we're looking at. There was only twenty of them so even though they're spread out, this should be managable.
illtempered: (overlooking)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-13 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
I also have a solution to plausible deniability. In case someone is found.

( Possible rotation for people who have the information. But, he's pressing his luck.

He wants that shared now, because they're finishing their interaction, and this is the nicest grouping of anything he's said in a while. Alexander is probably floored.

Speaking of Alexander, Jackson looks to his boyfriend and then back. He did good. He nods, letting her move on, stand, turn to another seatmate, before he spins back to face Alexander.
)

Not one word for the next few days.

( On his horrible commentary of everyone in their lives. )
swillpot: (and if you ask us)

[personal profile] swillpot 2025-06-16 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Not a word about what?

[He fights the smirk, moving to sit next to him as Serena gets up to be part of another conversation.]

I think that went well.
illtempered: (escape)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-16 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
In what way would it not. ( He knew how it would go, but, it's good to acknowledge it. But the polite, kind, insightful facade falls just a bit, the cockiness emerging. He was just a little too ) I was prepared. I can back up my ideas. They're going to thank me.

( He did something. Him. Out of the goodness of his heart and the need to not be as bored here as he's been. )
swillpot: (and i've never buried treasure)

[personal profile] swillpot 2025-06-23 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get too ahead of yourself yet. Serena will vouch for you but you still have to recruit Annie.

[And he's not saying he can't. But Annie is Annie and she will push back a lot more on the logistics end of things.]

It's one thing to float a good idea, it's another to make it work. But I do think you can make it work.
illtempered: (meaningful conversation)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-06-24 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
( He's not too worried about the unflinchable, unsinkable - sister? Aunt? Tracking connections is harder, still. )

So do I.

( Obviously. )

And you'd have to get wise if you thought other...wise. ( That cockiness diminishes as he rhymes poorly. ) You know what I mean.
swillpot: (who don't do anything)

[personal profile] swillpot 2025-06-30 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I do.

[And he's about to change the topic to something else when he sees his father poke his head out the office door, scan the faces and then land on him. He then gestures for him to come closer.

Alexander sighs.]

And I've been summoned. Hold on.

[Jackson's free to follow if he wants. If he wanted Alexander to come alone, his father would have texted.
illtempered: (Default)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-07-02 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
( Jackson does, having heard a few choice conversations around them he hadn't meant to and one he never really needed to, Taylor. )
thirtysix: (nathy8)

[personal profile] thirtysix 2025-07-03 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Alexander lets them both into the office and raises an eyebrow at his father. "Everything okay?"

Abernathy waits until the door is closed before nodding.]

Remember that meeting we had about the Gauntlet? Not so much a hypothetical anymore.
illtempered: (question)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-07-05 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
( Jackson takes a seat in one of the chairs. This feels like a mission beckoning, so he's going to take the mission. He's batting a thousand today. )

It will happen or it's happening?
thirtysix: (nathy20)

[personal profile] thirtysix 2025-07-06 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Two members of the Inner Circle are dead.

[He gives them both a long look because he knows they were involved in at least one of those.]

And from what we heard, earlier today the Ivory Tower took a retaliatory swing at the Slayers, believing they were involved. From what Cordy brought back, a full class of Slayers are dead, though Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane are still alive. It's happening.

[He then takes a deep breath, because he doesn't want to ask this but:]

Is there anything at all that could connect you both back to Kirsanov's death? Outside of your co-conspirators.
illtempered: (i did do this oops)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-07-06 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
( His poker face has always good, so whether or not Abernathy knows, thinks he knows, or was told, Jackson confirms nor denies. (nat 20).

That remains a moot point, because he's asked point blank.
)

Only our co-conspirators. And rescued Cryptids.
swillpot: (and i've never been to tampa)

[personal profile] swillpot 2025-07-06 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Alexander's face is a bit more transparent (7). He knows why his father is asking the question, not because he's done anything wrong, but more to make sure that their butts are covered.]

I was never on site. I stayed with Specter on the train. Jackson was there, but the place went down in a ball of fire. If he had any surveillance, I'm not sure any of it is usable.

[Abernathy nods as he listens, because that seems clear-cut enough. But just to be safe: "I would go radio silent for a bit, just to be on the safe side. I don't think this Gauntlet is going to last long, but there are still eight members of the Inner Circle still alive and your co-conspirators are pretty close to the flame at the moment. I've heard the only one still out of the compound is Gainor's husband."

Alexander nods, before tipping his head to the side.]

Where do you think? Purgatory?

[Abernathy considers, before shrugging. "Might make sense. They're not going to want to cross the Ghost River Triangle. Plus you can make some inroads for your project."

That is said in the direction of Jackson. Was he eavesdropping? Did Serena talk to him already? You'll never know.

"I know you're both capable of taking care of yourselves, but I'd rather rig the house than play the odds."]
illtempered: (big man on campus)

[personal profile] illtempered 2025-07-06 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's not.

( Everyone literally dove from the castle-turned-firebomb.

As for the relocation he didn't ask for. Jackson mulls it over under the guise of him actually having a choice. Alexander was right, his father really does know everything that goes on under his roof. So-to-speak. "His."
)

If you want us to lay low, then we lay low. Just us?
