( Ezra after "accidentally" knocking over a bottle of champagne on the table, lets loose with the word )
Incendia.

As a bonus action, )
Commodum.
( His closest allies now have advantage on their attack rolls for the next minute.
Also, vamp batch one is caught off guard near Ezra and the fire he's started. One falls backward. And the blood curdling screams of the girl and guy whose arms are melting from magic heat is throwing the nearest vampires off. )
[Vampires throughout the boat begin to spring to life, and try to spring on the guests in question. One goes for Ezra (6), trying to pin his arms to see if he can hinder the witch's casting before he bites down.
A pair of them turn on Mia (5 vs. 12, 20 vs. 20). The first swings wide, while the second manages to lock her in a grapple, shoving her back into a nearby wall. Mia grits her teeth, before twisting around to try and break free (10 vs. 14), but the vampire keeps her pinned in place.
Another goes for Rusty (5 vs. 13), and Rusty dodges out of the way, before twisting his wrist to snap the neck of said vampire (8 vs. 5), and the vamp goes down in a slump before he murmurs an Incendia of his own and the body bursts into flames.
The vampire who spotted him and Buffy springs towards Buffy (11), but Stefan intervenes (16 vs. 7), shoving a hand into the vampire's chest and withdrawing with the vampire's heart.
A pair of vampires spin towards Damon and Melanie, nails out and aiming for the face (10 for Damon, 6 vs. 13 for Melanie), and Melanie side steps the attack and letting them crash into the table.]
( Ezra dodges the vampire coming at him (13), trying to get the vampire to keep lunging forward at the fire.
Damon (14) dodges the nails to the face, and tries to grab them from behind, locking an arm around their neck (6, 7) but the vampire slips out of his grip.
Buffy, turns toward the bartender with a shrug. She knows. Sorry about it. Not. She takes a glass in hand and tries breaking it over the vampire bartender's head. But the vampire catches her arm (12, 17).
Faith leaps behind the vampire grappling Mia and tries to stake it, (5, 17), but the vampire turns - one hand still on Mia, the other one grips her wrist, and squeezes. But, she's a slayer and that's not really the pain he thinks it is. She keeps her grip on the stake.
Rhett takes nearby dice, launching one at the vampire holding Faith and Mia, but the vampire is faster and uses Faith as a shield as she's knocked hard by the die. )
[Scarlett turns, baring her fangs in the opposite direction of her husband, putting them almost back to back. A vampire charges her, catching her by the throat (17 vs. 14), but she uses it to reel him forward, so that she can snap the arm (5 vs. 4). The vampire screams in pain and she uses the opportunity to seize the heart (5 vs. 1)
Melanie grabs the one who smashed into the table by the hair, using the leverage to try and alleviate them of their heart (2 vs. 9), but the vampire slips from her grip with a snarl, turning back to try and grapple her instead (4 vs. 11), but Melanie dodges again.]
[Mia pulls one of her stakes and shoves it into the back of the one wrangling Faith (17 vs. 7), and the vampire drops to the ground. She then turns as the second comes at her (5 vs. 4), and she takes a solid hit to the face, and she pulls back, wiping a bit of blood from the corner of her mouth.
Rusty glances up to see what Ezra means, and grits his teeth. He murmurs a spell under his breath as he moves, and the wall behind Wallace and Corsair twists and molds before reaching forward to grab them (nat 20 vs. 11, 18 vs. 12) and pin them back into the wall as he reaches the stairs to head up.]
Weren't going to leave without saying goodbye, were you?
[Stefan breaks off a piece of the wooden bar and shoves the stake towards the vampire holding Buffy (1 vs. 14), but the vampire ducks and the stakes shatter the bottles on the wall instead.]
( The chair that fell back by Ezra's table on fire sports a nice stake-like leg at an angle, so Damon goes to give a swift kick with his heel to push his vampire into it. (nat 20) and this vampire turns to dust. Huh. He'd only heard about that.
As the vampire gets back up, Buffy tumbles over the bar, lands and sinks a punch at him (16, 3), dropping him against more of the back bar, more bottles shattering.
Faith takes off after a vampire attempts to escape onto deck. She crashes through the sliding door, knocking the both of them into the railing.
Rhett turns to a stunned Barnabus and gives him a 'no hard feelings' look, he uses the roulette wheel and spins, attempting to get a foot to his head, but the wheel spins too fast and it sends him - and spins him on his ass (nat 1...) )
["I really never could figure out what you saw in him, Scarlett." Barnabus states dryly as Rhett fumbles. The problem is that Rhett provides a more than adequate distraction and Scarlett is able to shove her hand into Barnabus' back, curling her fingers around his heart (nat 20 vs. 19).
She leans forward to murmur in his ear:]
Well, there's no accounting for taste, is there?
[And moves to relieve him of his heart.
Melanie moves into a grapple with her current vamp (15 vs. 15), stumbling backwards as she's shoved into a nearby wall.]
(Wallace and Corsair struggle, as Ezra leaves his frozen vampire and quickly follows Rusty up the stairs. He uses another spell )
Tardus.
( Three approaching vampires suddenly move in slow motion, and can't catch up to him as he slides under the railing and then pushes his way up the stairs behind Rusty.
"Were you expecting better hospitality for a party crasher," Corsair sneers. )
[Mia takes another swing at her vampire and misses (10 vs. 19), and the other vampire swings back (4 vs. 2) and clocks her again, and Mia tries to shake it off and regain her focus.
Rusty makes his way up the stairs and raises an eyebrow at the two of them. "See, it's funny you say that, because I wasn't sure how I was going to get to you at first. Me taking on the Riverboat all on my own? Not smart." He curls his fingers into a fist, causing the hands on the two witches to tighten. "But then you, in your infinite wisdom, decided to send your vampire lackey after the Slayers. And all of the sudden, I have all the backup I needed."
Stefan reshifts, shoving his piece of bar down again and manages to successfully stake him this time (14 vs. 9).]
(Damon takes advantage of Melanie's attacker's attention (lack thereof), zipping up behind and shoving his hand into his chest, promptly removing it completely (18, 2), before sending it at a running woman in an apron, knocking her in the back of her white shirt. She drops forward.
Buffy removes her stake and ends the vampire under her, before looking up at the witch brigade. She nods to Stefan to cover her as she jumps up on the bar, goes running and leaps for the edge of the landing on the stairwell. She catches her hands on the edge, swinging herself back, forth, and then uses her momentum to flip her back onto the railing's edge, climbing through.
The vampire on the deck is no match for Faith who pinpoints what must be his daylight necklace.
"No," he cries out, as he yanks up and back hard, breaking the chain. He covers his head with his hands but as Faith moves to stand, he burns to death, another fire now starting.
She runs back into the fray.
Rhett shakes off his clumsiness, standing over Barnabus' corpse. "We'll get you your manicure after all this is finished," he says. Scooping up roulette chips, he sends them at the feet of three advancing vampires to trip them up: one slips forward, but the other two leap out of the way, one trying to take a serving tray to Scarlett's face. )
[Scarlett flashes him a wink as another pair of vampires come at them on the dance floor. She breaks off a nearby chair leg and prepares to tangle, but the vampire comes at her too quickly, knocking her to the floor (13 vs. 1). She scrambles up and swings at them with the chair leg (13 vs. 11), knocking the vampire back.
Melanie pulls one of the daggers she brought with her and flings it at someone coming up behind them. The dagger sinks home (16 vs. 13), but the vampire keeps coming to take a swing at Damon (3). It does so terribly.
Wallace's eyes widen as she makes the calculations. "So it was you the whole time?"
Corsair, on the other hand, is eyeing Buffy's approach, and swallows. "Can't we discuss this? It was clearly just a misunderstanding."]
(Damon easily dodges (16), letting that (3) send the vampire to the floor. So terribly.
Ezra stands just behind Rusty, moving his hands around each other, sending a spell in the direction of the shattered window: )Obscura ex visu.( From down below, the window obscures over, becoming crystalline and gelatinous. Only Buffy, Ezra and Rusty will be able to see inside the office now. )
And me. And your precious prodigal son.
( The son they had a hand in possessing. The son they condemned. They created these actions with their own.
Buffy appears in the doorway as another vampire attempts her own leap, reaching the railing up. )
[Mia finally manages to break through on the vampire she's been struggling with (16 vs. 1), and she manages to shove a stake home. She shakes it off and prepares to take the next attacker, bodies starting to gather around her feet.
Rusty shakes his head. "I don't think we can really call it a misunderstanding. Then again, it wasn't my people you killed. What do you think, Buffy?" He doesn't care for sharing his revenge that much, but he can agree that Buffy deserves it.
Stefan watches Buffy leave, before making his way closer to his brother and Melanie. He stakes another vampire on the way (13 vs. 1), before tossing the stake lightly to his brother if he wants to handle that vampire on the ground.]
(Damon catches his brother's stake and kills the vampire that hit the ground.
Buffy spins around to kick the oncoming vampire back, (13 to a nat 1). She flies against and then over the railing dropping down on the craps table right by Stefan. It buckles under the weight and collapses.
Spinning back, she rips the door to the office off it's hinges as it tries to close behind her. Letting go, it falls against the railign to her right. She climbs over like it's nothing. )
A misunderstanding is grabbing the wrong coat at a party. It's not massacring innocent teenage girls because you're paranoid about some sick power grab. And, until you brought the fight to my doorstep, I wasn't involved. Or, don't tell me. Was the misunderstanding Thanksgiving? Was it the Butler's being there? Because, you may not have made any, but Brannigan sure did. Misunderstandings are everywhere if you ask me. You misunderstood I was a pushover. Or, that I'd go down easy. That I wouldn't retaliate because you didn't know my sister was also in that castle. Also? ( A beat. ) You owe me a castle.
(Faith leaps another vampire, using her legs to flip him over and down hard, before locking him and staking him there and then.
One of the vampires tries to slug Rhett , but he ducks it. The second vampire manages a hit and he stumbles back. Removing his jacket, he tries to ensconce one around the neck to knock him into his friend, but said first vampire grabs his jacket in his hands. )
[Scarlett takes another swing at the vampire she's tangling with (14 vs. 11), slamming the chair leg into his gut and feeling him sink to his knees.
Melanie retrieves her dagger before going to back up Rhett, slamming her dagger down into the meet of the vampire's neck (3 vs. 1).
Wallace grits her teeth and seems like she's about to summon some magic to free herself from Rusty's clutches when she feels the tether holding them to their bodies snap. Corsair also stumbles, and turns back on Rusty with a glare.
"They'll figure out what you're doing." He then glances over at Ezra and raises an eyebrow. "Maybe they already have."]
[They both fail (14, 6), and Wallace is already snarling as she tries to break free.
Mia takes out another vampire (19 vs. 6), and glances around at the flames growing and frowns.]
William, how bad is this fire getting?
[They don't have the full view from where they are, and she's not sure if they need to be bailing already.
Rusty steps forward, flicking the dagger in his hand before leaning in close to Wallace's snarl. "See you in Hell." He then stabs the dagger down (nat 20 vs. nat 20) and takes away a chunk of her shoulder as she manages to twist out of the way and just barely manages to miss him catching her throat.
Stefan catches Mia's request to her brother, before hopping over the bar and pulling out a couple of bottles of alcohol. "Maybe we should get it to burn a little faster."]
( William gets a (1), so a couple of the cameras are obscured, one is fogged over with smoke - and two have broken from magic residue.
"Bad enough it's obscuring my one camera. But, all the others are compromised. I lost eyes," he says, switching through his views. "But it's all evidence, so, if it's done, burn it?" he asks, asking Stefan through comms. "Is that what we're doing?"
Damon knees Melanie's vampire, and half-heartedly attempts to land a fist on an advancing vampire but he dodges. Or, maybe that's what Damon wants. "Should we just start a vampire bonfire?" He tosses a lit lighter at the vampire, "Catch," he calls out, to see if he's dumb enough to catch it.
Buffy steps past Ezra. It's not often things get this up close, nor that she has a shot like this. Usually, her blows are equal. As guilty as she might feel that they're subdued, they killed innocent girls who will never grow up. And that's good enough for her.
"He's right. I was nowhere near this. You should've done your homework." Instead of attacking her slayers. And her friends. And her sister. Her boyfriend. She sighs, pulling out her knife. "But, I am happy you're not going to be stealing your son's or daughter's bodies. Gotta say it. You're taking the oedipal complex just a little too far if you ask me. I'm sorry," she says, finally, swiping her knife - aiming for Corsair's neck. (nat 20)
Faith takes Stefan's lead and flips another table of abandoned drinks and bottles, striking her own lighter and setting her pile ablaze. A vampire tries to tackle her but she hops up and onto his back, pushing him into the flames as he cries out. "It's BYOB, except our B is fire, sorry about it," she says to no one in particular.
Rhett thanks Damon, dangles his jacket over the fire and then tries to ensnare the last vampire near them around the neck (nat 20!) )
Edited (whoops, all the html headaches) 2025-07-25 04:41 (UTC)
[The vampire catches it, almost like a reflex - unfortunately it's also caught flame first (4). There's a scream as the vampire in question goes up in flames.
Scarlett looks at the carnage around them before shrugging.]
Why not? Burning it all down seems best for most involved - we just have to make sure we don't get singed in the process.
[And she will let Stefan pass her one of the bottles and toss it into one of the nearby flames, watching it rocket up in size.
Melanie backs away from the vampire torch, before picking up a chair and using it to shove the vamp in question towards three more coming toward them (10 vs. 1) and watching as all three go up in flames.
Corsair can't dodge the blow, even if he wanted to (3), and Buffy's knife opens a neat slice across his neck. He tries to gurgle his last words but eventually all he can do is slump down, motionless.
Wallace offers a scream of rage as her partner dies, before she turns her attention on Rusty. "Sure, you might be able to take us down. But I can drag you down with us." She channels that anger into breaking through her holds (13 vs. 7), and lunges at Rusty, hands wrapping around his throat (19 vs. 8) as she pins him to the floor.]
( Twisting his wrist, he reaches out, attempting a clean neck snap after Corsair lunges forward and lands on top of Rusty, needing this done once and for all (15).
(Apparently, down below there's raging fire, according to the comms, so they don't have all day to snipe at one another.)
Any remaining vampires are taken care of swiftly. One sees she's between Stefan and the Butler's, so, instead, she pulls her necklace off and cries out as flames engulf her from the angle of the sun. Another runs and jumps off the side of the boat, engulfed in flames.
Faith runs after him, but as she readies to jump in after - she sees nothing hit's the water.
"Time to jump ship?" she asks comms.
"Anyone know how to drive a lifeboat?" William suggests. Granted, that's lower, start, and drive. )
[Wallace's neck snaps (11) and she collapses on top of Rusty, who quickly shoves the body off him and slices her throat, just to be sure. He glances down over the burning boat beneath them, and he nods in agreement.]
Let's get the hell out of here.
[There may not be a lot of life boats given that this boat is usually staffed by vampires and they don't have to worry about such things, but there are one or two on the side of the ship that is quickly being consumed by flames.
But vampires and Slayers maybe able to just fling themselves overboard and survive the collision with the water below. The jump doesn't look too high.]
Ezra, Buffy, and Rusty are cut off from the stairs, almost as flames have reached the stairwell and creeped halfway up. However, the office has a sliding door to it and it comes out on an upper deck.
Ezra realizes it's leap or nothing, so he makes a run for it and jumps (15) to land far enough away from the flaming boat.
Buffy tells Rusty to go first, as she looks out on the unobscured carnage below, before following after.
Faith dives in with a (17), Damon, too, with an (18). Rhett is an olympic diver??? with his natural effing 20. But, Buffy's 4 is the least graceful jump she's ever made, as she flails around. Something between flashing back to being dropped in a sewer of horny swim team creatures -- she's never been a swimmer like she's never been a driver. But, she's a slayer, and the force of the impact only knocks the wind out of her for a second. She emerges from the water in pain, but okay as she looks around who's on her side of the boat.
"Stefan?" she calls out. "Mia?" She sees Faith, Ezra, Rusty if he dived off of that side. )
[Rusty is also not a jumper (4), and lands on the water hard, but manages to summon enough magic (14), to buoy him to the surface even if he can feel his ribs are bruised if not broken.
Mia (16) flings herself elegantly off the side of the boat and swims to the shore like the superhero trained Slayer she is. Stefan (13) is more awkward but he's a vampire he'll live. Scarlett (18) almost matches her husband's grace, while Melanie (9) gets her dress caught on a piece of the wreckage and has to tear part of it off in order to break free to swim to shore.
Once they've all recovered, however, and prepare to go their separate ways - Mia and Faith heading back to pick up William, the vampires scattering, Rusty approaches Ezra, ignoring the tightness in his breathing before nodding to the car.]
( After realizing his phone is ruined from taking the plunge, he sighs, knowing he'll be back behind enemy lines, anyway.
Making sure that everyone involved is going their separate ways, finding who they need, drying off, with Ezra's part done here, he nods, ready to follow him to - wherever. Because, this isn't just a ride and he knows it. )

Rhett thanks Damon, dangles his jacket over the fire and then tries to ensnare the last vampire near them around the neck (nat 20!) )

Granted, that's lower, start, and drive. )

"Mia?" She sees Faith, Ezra, Rusty if he dived off of that side. )

Let me give you a ride?
[Code for they should probably talk.]

Making sure that everyone involved is going their separate ways, finding who they need, drying off, with Ezra's part done here, he nods, ready to follow him to - wherever. Because, this isn't just a ride and he knows it. )
