[Cordy is not taking her shots that quickly, thank you. She is aware of her human limitations. She will acknowledge the toast, but is letting the tequila settle.
Benny, however, does take his second shot with a sigh.]
Whiskey was definitely better.
["Agree to disagree," Cordy muses before finally taking her second. "That is nice though."]
He was one of the normal ones. The soulless ones like Angel smell super dead, and the weird third ones smell sick, almost. Not dead but not well. This guy spelled like blood and ... like they're preserved?
[He doesn't know if that makes any sense.]
That's usually the kind that don't like werewolves too much and you should probably steer clear.
( It does make sense, though, now that they got the skinny on the differences. )
Look, I go where I gotta go, if someone comes between me and my fist, then that's on them. Vamp, werewolf, no offense, they're asking for it, I give em a kiss.
Cordy rolls her eyes because she did not sign up to be a third wheel, and yet she is also not surprised, given her and Faith's conversation at the bar.]
Okay, well, you two have fun. I'm more than happy to skip a trip to the morgue.
( As if Chuck were writing it himself, Cordelia's phone starts to vibrate, or ring, depending on whatever setting it's on, and it indeed the Big Guy himself (Angel, not Chuck.) Chuck is for a narrative difference in description. )
( He left a very strongly toned and worded warning physically. He thought that would have merit. And, apparently it did. But more to the point of why he's calling. )
I tried making contact with some of my old Wolfram and Hart ties, but someone's making a move against the LA covens. Every one of their leaders. Dead, or bound. There's a power vacuum here bigger than we've ever seen.
[That's not good. The LA covens are dicey enough with the power games that come with being so close to an old Hellmouth - the Gauntlet is likely throwing things to even more stark relief.]
[Cordelia shifts to lean against the nearby wall, trying to parse what it is he saying.]
Methodical how? Are we talking like serial killer level precision? Because from what Alys was saying about the Gauntlet, sure it could be chaos, but not all witches are going to automatically go for the bloodbath.
More, like targeted precision. The Gauntlet has their targets, but there are reasons behind them. There are smaller covens I was going to stop by, ones I can't see being targeted.
( He doesn't do E-mail or texting well and Taylor volunteered to help Angel out in that arena if he needs it. He kind of treats her like a glorified secretary, but as a Ryan Atwood substitute, he does wonders. And he saved her once from a Selka demon. )
Fine. We tied up everything at the boat, so now we're doing shots. They have one vampire they want to follow up on, but they're planning to do that in the morning when I will likely be nursing a hangover.
[At least they're nice enough not to expect too much of her.]
Faith has taken an interest in Benny, so we'll see how that goes.

To job's ass kicked.
( And that second one goes down smooth, don't it. She just check on the human side of this triangle. Two shots in two seconds. Not for amateurs. )

Benny, however, does take his second shot with a sigh.]
Whiskey was definitely better.
["Agree to disagree," Cordy muses before finally taking her second. "That is nice though."]

( She stacks all the shot glasses on top of one another, sits back and kicks a foot on the table leg. )
Hey, that vamp you saw. Did you recognize him at all?

( With her fist. )
Might be smart to ID the preserves.

Benny smirks as he glances over at her.]
We can make it tomorrow's hangover's problem?
no subject
( Also, probably not the best thing to mention after eating and drinking, but, Faith's gotta Faith. )
Big Ben and I can handle it tomorrow, see if we can't ID vamp honcho, and yeah, maybe get into the morgue just in case. I clean up real nice.

You gotta take that?
no subject
I probably should so he doesn't start tearing his hair out. Be back in a minute.
[And with that she will slide off to go take Angel's call and leave Benny and Faith alone.]
Hi, I'm fine. Benny and Faith haven't allowed me to become grievously injured.

Have you talked to Abernathy yet?
no subject
( He is not Angel's favorite nut to crack. And Angel doesn't like talking on the phone. Except, to Cordelia. )
Right now, all I have is the Gauntlet, but these are more methodical. I don't think this is the Gauntlet.
no subject
Methodical how? Are we talking like serial killer level precision? Because from what Alys was saying about the Gauntlet, sure it could be chaos, but not all witches are going to automatically go for the bloodbath.
no subject
( Not with this much precision. )

[She drums her fingers against the wall before pushing up.]
Do you have a list of names? I can run them by Alys and see if there's a dot we might be able to connect.

How did things go with Benny and Faith?
no subject
[At least they're nice enough not to expect too much of her.]
Faith has taken an interest in Benny, so we'll see how that goes.
no subject
( They can both devour each other, so they're that. )
Do you do shots?
no subject
[Cordy sighs as she glances back over to the table and finding that Faith has definitely ordered more shots.]
I will probably regret it in the morning but when in Rome. Or Biloxi.
no subject
( At least there's that. )
Listen, I'm about done here. Do you want me there, or do you want to meet back in Baltimore?
no subject
[It'll probably take him that long to get here from LA anyway, if he's driving.]
no subject
I enjoy your company, too. ( Not that you asked. ) You need anything, you call, okay?
no subject
[And with that she will hang up and make her way back to the table. Benny looks up from where he's been flirting with a nod. "All good?"]
Him? Yes. The witches of Los Angeles, not so much. But that's not our problem right now.
no subject
( Was there some massive ... attack? ) Sounds like our deal.
