( Dean takes the rear, casing the layout of the entranceway and foyer, mapping everything out in his mind. (10) He just doesn't know what he's looking for, so he's able to make where they are, the other doors, the stairs up and the long hallway back. )
( You don't have to tell him twice as he takes off, still cloaked. Unfortunately, third floor is a vague description and there are a host of doors in the manner. It's going to take some time. Also, three flights of stairs. (3)
Outside, Elijah looks up, the tell-tale sign of a deed being broken. A neck being snapped.
"The way is no longer barred.. Those of us going inside, it's time. Hold what line you can," Elijah says to Sam and to Allison, and Buffy. Jeremy slides off the front of the car they brought, crossbow in one hand.
["Have fun, darling," Bela says into the ether, before heading off to crash a wedding with Rusty.
Stefan nods and falls in step next to Elijah as they make their way to the door. This isn't the kind of wetwork he enjoys but it is the kind of wetwork he's made for, so just making sure he and Elijah on the same page.
It's Elena. He'll do whatever it takes to get her back.]
So we're just clearing out as many witches as we can to keep them off their backs?

( Jeremy bursts through the front door, crossbow at the ready. Fuck stealth. The more sound they make at the front, the more they might be distracted from the ceremony. Maybe they'll speed it up. He doesn't care. )
[That certainly draws attention to Jeremy. They were probably expecting Jeremy Gilbert, someone who's made enough of his own reputation as a hunter - but not now and not this quickly. They likely assumed that Elena would be dead by the time they got here.
But as four witches swing around the corner, it's not just Jeremy Gilbert they're confronted with. It's Jeremy Gilbert, Stefan Salvatore, and Elijah fucking Mikaelson.
No one expected an Original vampire to come to play today.
"Oh, shit," one of them shouts, before ... immediately turning and running the other way. Likely to send up the alarm but also because maybe they're not looking to die today.
That leaves three witches, and all of them begin throwing spells, looking to pin the three of them to a nearby wall (Witch 1 vs. Elijah - 15, Witch 2 vs. Jeremy - 19). Stefan just barely manages to zip to the side (16 vs. 15), and turns to get into closer range of that witch, catching them around the throat (18 vs. 8) and slamming Witch 3 down into the ground.]
( Jeremy's first shot at the running witch goes wide and the bolt shatters a frame.
Elijah flies back into the open door, pinned as it swings forward. (10) "Thank you, Jeremy, we needn't bother with the element of surprise," he says, gritting his teeth against the spell.
Jeremy's pinned to the doorway (2), crossbow dropping. )
[So Stefan is the ... sigh. Okay. He reaches down to relieve the witch he's wrestling with of their heart (15 vs. 1), before zipping forward to take on the one pinning Elijah (16 vs. 16), drawing enough of his attention that the spell flickers (10), and Elijah can feel himself loosening.
No offense Jeremy.
Witch 2 starts to charge towards Jeremy, holding him in place, but Jeremy has a crossbow, so his focus is a bit torn, just in case something comes at him.]
( The crossbow dropped as he made the impact with the doorway, so Witch 2 is momentarily safe from that one.
But not Allison's. Offscreen, Allison is perched on the outside stairs and lets off a bolt from through the doorway at him: (19)
Elijah pushes through the spell's hold like tissue paper (19). Elijah would do something but Witch 2 dies on impact. It's a good shot. Jeremy drops down, swiping at his crossbow again and bringing it up, aiming for the witch tussling with Stefan: (10). There's a chance that hits Stefan and not the witch. )
[Both Stefan and the witch manage to roll well (14 and 13 respectively), so the bolt grazes the witch's shoulder, but otherwise no damage is done.
Witch 3 decides to contend with the vampires first, lifting their wrist to snap the vampire's necks so they can just contend with the human (13). Stefan, who had been doing so well, is too entangled to try and stop them, and his neck twists with a sickening crack (1).
Whoops.
Stefan's an old man though so he'll probably be back ... soonish?]
[Five witches come around the corner and since Allison and Sam are prepared, they're able to get shots off first. Sam pops two into Witch 1 (13 vs. 9, 19 vs. 18). The second shot misses, but a witch-killing bullet is a witch-killing bullet and as it lodges itself in the targets arm, killing their magic to a certain extent.
Witch 2 will try to stop Jeremy, breathing across their palm and summoning a cone of flames (19) to try and catch the hunter as he runs past.
On the ground in front of them, Stefan begins to twitch.]
( Allison attempts to fling one arrow each into Witch 3 (15) and Witch 4 (21).
Buffy approaches Witch 5 but Stefan stirs and she telegraphs her first punch (2).
Jeremy tries to go under but slides now on fire as he immediately uses his turn to try and roll himself out of it (8), but it's hot and magic and it's burning. )
[She gets both of hers (3, 5) and both witches drop - maybe not quite dead yet but definitely in a place where they're bleeding a great deal. Sam surges forward to try and help out Jeremy, shooting at Witch 2 twice (16 vs. 3, 4 vs. 3), and 5 is forced to drop back, away from Sam.
Sam will pull off his jacket and push Jeremy to the ground, trying to get rid of the flames.
Witch 5 dodges that punch (6), and waves a hand to try and fling Buffy back (8), but he's a little off his game also.
Witch 1 is going to try and fling a spell at Sam (4 vs. 2), which does fling Sam back some, but not enough to do real damage.
And Stefan ... twitches some more. He's getting there. Eventually.]
[Not much can stand up to an Original that wants your heart, so 5 goes down with a hole in his chest.
Witch 1 dodges out of the way of Allison's arrows (10, 17), but unfortunately zooms into a hungry and awake Stefan Salvatore (19 vs. 12), as he rears back and sinks his teeth into the witch's neck.
Sam gives Jeremy a nod, before getting up and eyeing around the corner, listening for the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Are you all good to keep going?"
Stefan drops his witch and brushes at the corner of his mouth.]
( "I thought he was talking to me," Jeremy says, struggling to pull himself up, but succeeding, Other than his jacket, his clothing's in hole'd tatters. He looks homeless and feels a bit woozy from the burn.
Allison targets Witch 2 who peeks out (19).
Buffy, brandishing a knife, and sad it's come to this - but - war - takes out the two bleeding witches on the ground with two clean stabs.
Elijah catches Jeremy who almost faints as footsteps get louder. There's some shouting and a chant of some sort. One witch runs to the top of the stairs and drops a staff down.
Allison attempts a thwip (1) -- but it bounces off the SPELL keeping her and her bolts out. )
[Sam glances back over his shoulder as he hears the bow glance off the spell, and won't lie about secretly being a bit relieved that Allison isn't stuck in the kill zone - though she's also alone outside so that isn't much better.
Still, he lifts his gun to shoot at the witch holding the staff, though it's deflected by another witch to protect the spell (1 vs. 15), though he's sure there's enough chanting for them to be more of them. He turns to the rest of the group:]
( Elijah takes Jeremy into an adjacent piano room, crouching behind. He bites into his wrist and brings it to Jeremy's mouth. Jeremy makes a face but Elijah insists.
"We need you in fighting shape," he says. Jeremy relents.
Buffy runs and jumps on the bannister, taking off upwards - what better way to get out of a kill box then to get closer to the boxers. Buffy leaps off to grab at the chanter, (2), but the spell doesn't help her spacial reasoning and she goes rolling past. )
[Sam moves to find a corner to duck behind, tall moose that he is, and a spell catches his shoulder (14 vs. 9), and he flinches back with a wince. He fires two shots in return (14 vs. 16, 5 vs. 16) and spells continue to knock his shots out of the way.
Stefan hones in on one of the witches looking as though they're about to turn on Buffy (15 vs. 15), and the two of them wrestle some as Stefan slams the witch into a wall - but at least it can't let off anymore spells.]
[The staff shatters, but Allison's arrows don't come flying back in just yet. Sam is worried, some, but he pushes it to the side because he is also actively being targeted. He shifts to follow Buffy's lead, shooting the witch she stole the staff from twice (17 vs. 15, 8 vs. 2), putting two witch killing bullets center mass.
But something is shifting. The wards on the building are flickering as each of the Inner Circle members go down, and with it, the other attacking witches start to look nervous. Particularly because there's an Original vampire somewhere in the mix and Stefan Salvatore ... well, he's more than capable of making a mess and he looks pissed.
Never mind the Winchester. Where one goes, another isn't usually far behind.
One of them throws up their hands. "Hey, hey, look - can we talk about this?"
Stefan raises an eyebrow as he turns to the speaker.]
( They are. They all are. Months of bloodshed, damnation, and decades of corruption and old rites.
Elijah, for one, is over it.
In an instant, there's a hand in his hair at his waist and his head is bent back. The Original he's scared of? Yeah. "You took someone I respect greatly, for some half-hearted idea that it might make your keepers more powerful. Oddly, you didn't think about your own lives. What do you think, Stefan. Are these witches acting like their lives actually mean anything in the shadow of their grand coven?")
