[Caroline and Ryan fly back into Mystic Falls on a red eye out of LAX and arrive in the early hours of the morning the day before New Year’s Eve. She makes her way home first, and spends some time catching up with her mom, but by the time the afternoon rolls around, she decides she’s waited long enough, and makes her way over to the Lockwood Manor, alone, to see Matt.
She lets herself in, catching Matt as he’s moving from the stairs to the kitchen, and pulls him into a hug before he can go too far, pulling him in close.
