[Hiro isn’t technically watching the door. He’s just having a drink where the door happens to be visible. Ken is nearby, doing karaoke, Emi and Asa are upstairs with Elton, and he deposited Pasha for emotional support before heading down and getting a drink.
It isn’t that he doesn’t want to help Elton. He understands what his stepbrother is going through. He’s just always been a numbers man, and it’s frustrating that Elton never seems to run his, never seems to think things all the way through. His brother has always had a big heart and has always led with his heart. He just wished it got him into less trouble.
His eyes just so happen to be on the door when Ezra and his friend enter. He doesn’t know if Elton called them here, or if Ezra found them—he likely didn’t have to try hard—but Hiro doesn’t like that he brought a stranger with him, and he can’t help but tense as he looks down at his drink, speaking quickly into his earpiece.]
