( Apparently, there are coincidences like that all over this wedding according to the scuttlebutt. )
Callahan. This is my brother, Bradan. An' that's Beck. Pops up in the unlikeliest of friend groups. In high school, he played rugby but also was in some geek group, and that wasn't when he was in one of the school plays.
( He's eclectic.
"Vincent's a witch in the quarter," Scott shares. "Also, I'm Scott. Davina's boyfriend. Not a witch, though.")
[Serena points to Scott, though they may not have worked together yet.]
I've been working with Jackson on some projects. And I was just in Beacon Hills helping Stiles and Cora out with some of the recently resurrected. The Sheriff was really nice.
[She's been bouncing around a lot lately, but the one member of Scott's pack who wasn't in Mystic Falls for Christmas was Scott himself.]
Nice to finally put a name to a face though. I'm Serena.
[But back to the Ford brothers:]
He seems like a great guy. He and his wife seem very happy, despite the interrupted ceremony.
["In my experience, that kind of vampires is never that well coordinated," Vincent sighs. "They tend to just be chaos and violence types. Probably why they're all dust now."
Serena shakes her head.]
Good riddance, then. It certainly kept things exciting.
[Then, to the twins.]
Do you guys live in the states, or are you all visiting from Ireland?
["Makes for easy clean up, though," Aiden says with a smirk as he settles with a drink. "I certainly can't complain."
Serena, on the other hand, nods with a smile.]
I've only been to Ireland once, but it was beautiful there. I'd love for the chance to go back again one day. I've been to London a couple times too, but that was mostly for work.
("I would, if his husband were able to disappear in a puff of dust," Josh says. "But, I'm made of stronger stuff."
"Me too," Eliot says.
Oh, that's nice. Bradan and Callahan have been international, but Bradan more than Cal. Cal travels for family. He's the quieter twin. The one that likes his dive bars and darkness. It's the least he can do with his power. )
["Me three?" Sophie says as she finally returns to the table, oh-so-delicately sliding herself into the conversation as she settles into her seat next to Eliot. To Eliot specifically: "By the way, we're having dinner with Donna before she goes back to New York."
Serena blinks before - oh right. He thinks the singing part is her job.]
No. Well - I did do some shows while I was there, but I have a day job. A flexible one that allows me to pick up gigs when I want to, but a day job none the less. Turns out health insurance is important.
[Serena glances at Vincent briefly and he gives her the nod to go ahead. She knows it's not likely news to the two vampires at the other end of the table, but she doesn't know what Beck's brothers know.]
It's kind of like supernatural witness protection? We help with relocation, evading hunters, fresh identities for immortal creatures, social support, that kind of thing. It's called the Underground.
( Because, that is where his mind goes. But, he kind of thinks highly of her now. Because that's a lot of good one can do. Though, Callahan feels the farthest from any of that. Like his twin brother. Every other brother has had if not direct contact, moved closer to it, or embedded themselves, Beck.)
Our mum's on the watcher's council. Do you work with them?
Not directly - not me at least. Faith's recently started working with us, and Cordy and Angel have been working with us for a while.
[So yes, there are connections, but not all the way up to the Watcher end of things.]
From the way my boss explains it, they were a bit too British for him when he was first getting started way back when. But he's Australian, so I'm sure there's some kind of bias there.
Many people have beef with the British, safe to say they've probably earned it.
[The Brits have their own sordid history that the world will likely continue to contend with for a long while.]
But yeah, Cordy and Angel joined up shortly after the last apocalypse a few years back? They've been really handy to have around. You'd be surprised how few people that go into my line of work have social skills.
I was unaware they weren't affiliated. Way I heard it, they were big into things in the 2000's. Wonder why they took their big hiatus. And shouldn't social skills be a prerequisite?

"It's nice to meet you, too," he says.
Callahan waves the commotion before away. )
They can withstand a little vampire attack.
( "It wasn't even coordinated," Eliot comments. )

London. We get back to Ireland frequently, sometimes more than once a month to see our parents.

Yes, yes he does. He's also a tad suspicious of your singing prowess. )
Pretty damn, in the states. ( He really cannot get a read on her. ) What's your day job, if you don't mind?

Cordelia and Angel, really.
( What a tiny planet they live on. )
Mighty bias. Brits and the Irish have the same.

[Which, fair. Work with what you've got.
But that's a lot of talking about her, so:]
So what about you? What do you do other than being handsome and Irish?
[Can she test the waters with a little flirting? Maybe. He's been very locked in, so maybe he might be into it.]
