[He takes a breath.]

He'll be back tonight after he finishes at the Grille.

And they're babysitting me? That Brit didn't compel me to stay inside.

( Or, to stay in this town. He's itching, jumping out of his own skin, ready to bolt. )

No, he didn't. Because he didn't have to. We spelled you in last night.

[He then waves a finger to the rest of the house.]

Also you haven't been invited in. So you decide to leave this little protective bubble and ... trust me when I say it will not be pleasant.

[pumping]

( Normally, Mickey is disciplined. Normally, he'd listen. But, he's feeling like a caged bird. And he can't sing. His plan is half-baked, take Katherine Pierce hostage so they let him out, but he doesn't get vampire 101. Not like whoever that Stiles kid is.

So, fuck it. He takes off full speed at Katherine, who's facing away, and scrolling on her phone, none the wiser. )

[Damian would not have been fast enough to stop him, but he does slide himself in between anyway, putting himself in front of Katherine, just in case he tries to come at her again.

Stefan, on the other hand, is the one who actually deflects the blow, taking advantage of the fact that he's faster and stronger to slide in between, plant his hand against Mickey's chest and shove him backwards, hard to the floor.]

[pumping]

( And damn, that is a hard hit. He lays there, holding what is most likely a bruised rib. He groans. )

That was stupid.

[Stefan just wants that said.]

Because even if you didn't believe she was human, that means you just attempted to try and kill a vampire at least five hundred years your senior, and one thing you'll learn pretty fast with vampires is this:

[pumping]

( Katherine flinches, but, barely, turning back. "Pathetic try. 0 stars." )

She's human. Without you here. She'd be dead.

( Well, Katherine's not going to take this stepping over to him and shoving a stiletto heel deep into his chest, taking his breath away.

She shoves her foot back and returns to Damian's side, touching his shoulder. )

[Damian turns to her with a small smile, but his face sobers by the time he turns back to the two vampires. "Maybe we should leave in time out to think about what he's done."]

Maybe we should. Particularly about how just because they're human doesn't mean they're not dangerous.

[pumping]

Whatever.

( His breath returns and he puffs out dry air as he feels the wound she caused close itself. She also ruined his shirt. )

I was right. Dicks. All of you.

[Stefan shrugs, because he's right. They are dicks.]

If you think we're bad, Damon's worse.

[But with that, he will follow Damian and Katherine upstairs.]

I almost hate to leave Damon with his hands full.

( She doesn't. )

[Stefan smirks.]

Because I don't.

[shreds]

No, I don't. It's always been Damon I'd leave. ( But the other half of that is ancient history. She walks over to her luggage, pulling her phone out of her designer purse. ) What comes next for Stefan Salvatore? Keeping it international?

That's the plan.

[He smiles softly.]

Buffy's having brunch with the girls but once she gets back, we'll head out to the airport.

[shreds]

Must be nice. Thank you, for calling us in. It's -- been a dry season for hunting. I prefer more action, but --

( Maybe Damian can translate how grateful she is. )

[He knows Elena wasn't thrilled, but it was good to have the back up.]

[Yep. Damian comes down with the bags and gives Stefan a nod before making his way out to the card. Stefan smirks at the description.]

Should I expect a house warming invitation?

[shreds]

No. It's a bit tacky inviting your ex to you and your boyfriend's love nest.

( She is saying 'love nest' as if it is an odious word, as it is a house. But, it's also fun to needle Stefan just a little bit. )

Or, maybe the invitation will be in the mail.

[It's strange, in some ways, to be on actual good terms with Katherine, but they've both come very far. And it's good to see her having found a place, with people who care about her.

He smirks at her needling as he walks her to the door.]

I'll keep an eye out.

Maybe don't. I don't make it a habit to know castle addresses. Or, is that only a rumor? Slayers in castles.
