And why you called, and dad didn't. I went looking for her first. Her trail went cold in Paris, and then, I was -- I'm fine, but I was attacked and someone saved me.

[What? She's married but she's not dead. Also, a lighter question will hopefully make it feel less like a parent grilling their child and more of a conversation of what they're up to.]

Yeah, but, straight. And, I wasn't what he was after. My skills, on the other hand... I made him a deal, to help him and who he was working for if he'd help me find Mia. And, without trying to, he did.

( She ended up being there after all. )

Well, for one, the supernatural world is a lot bigger than we thought. Slayers, vampires, demons... witches. Name it, it probably exists. Isaac's a werewolf and he works for a network of other supernaturals.

( Not as large a one as he thought. )

[Well it makes sense that they would be working together.]

So are you now a werewolf IT specialist?

[slavophile]

I think we both know I'm a little more than that.

( But, kind of also, yes, he is. Sort of his handler when he's in the field. But, he also takes his orders from her. )

But, he did recruit me after ... saving my life. There was going to be quid pro quo, help them, they'd help me find Mia.

[razes]

Let me guess.

[Because she can hazard a guess at where this might be going.]

Now that you've found Mia, you're not sure you want to walk away?

Something big is happening. Supernaturals, they're being hunted. And with Mia now magic...

( He does worry. )

[She takes a deep breath.]

Look, your father is going to disagree with me, mostly because he wants you both home so he can see with his own two eyes that you're safe.

But you guys are all grown up and doing your own hero thing now. If that's where you think you need to be, then that's where you should stay. Just don't be afraid to reach out if you think you might need help.

[slavophile]

Isaac's got a big network and Mia can more than hold her own now. Nyssa Al-Gul meets super strength and coordination.

Yeah, but still. If you need help, call. We'll grab one of Cisco's breach devices and pop on over.

[She shifts to lean back more on the couch.]

This isn't us trying to be overbearing. This is you having a safety net if you need it.

It doesn't feel overbearing. Should I break the news to dad that we're not coming home any time soon?

( Because, he's not afraid of his dad. Not really. But, he also... doesn't want to disappoint him. This won't be falling off the face of the Earth. )

No, I've got it. You go do what you need to do.

[Oliver will be unhappy, but he'll understand.]

( And with that, he'll end the call and sit with it. )

[Isaac returns from the visit with Bonnie and knocks on William's door on the way back to his room. He doesn't intend to stay long but there's one last order of business before they move on.]

William? You have a minute?

Yeah, one second.

( He's dressed, luckily, his shirt the only thing unbuttoned as he opens the door. )

Isaac, come on in.

So. I heard you had a busy night.

[He's referring to his sister, but William's free to interpret that however he needs to.]

Uh - ( He holds the open door open, trying to connect how Isaac would know anything about his night or morning, but, night could also be the early morning. ) What did Mia say?

[His brow furrows in confusion.]

Nothing. We haven't met yet. I was referring to the fact that you found her.

[slavophile]

Right. Yeah. Well, she found me and dug me out of the rubble. She's here in this same hotel. Hell of a coincidence.

( Better he was referring to Mia. He visibly relaxes and closes the door, finally. )
