[Bela isn't opposed to quid pro quo, and she tries not to offer a blank check, and would discourage Bonnie from doing the same. It will be something they'll have to address as they go, one way or another.

[Bela makes her way over and slips her arm in Elijah's. They say their goodbyes, and once all of that his settled, Isaac does follow her back inside.]

Hey, we all need to be friends right now.

( If hunters are targeting all supernatural people, it behooves them to all stick together and seek help from one another.

She leaves Isaac downstairs with Eliza before heading upstairs and knocking on the second guest bedroom door. )

[Danny's been lying on the bed, staring up at the ceiling after coming back with Eliza from the morgue. Seeing the bodies of both his father and sister stretched out like that, with no sign of his mother is harder than he'd care to admit.

(They say the meeting hall burned so hot that there wasn't anything left of her to find, is what they claim. Danny isn't sure if that's true or not but right now he wishes he could push the images out of his head.

When the knock comes on the door, he doesn't turn to give it his attention, but he does speak:]</small. Come in.

( She leans her head in first, not trying to invade the quiet. )

Hey, can we talk for a minute?

[He glances over to look at her, before nodding as he shifts to sit up.]

Yeah, sure. Everything okay?

Relatively. We're going to need to get you away. Soon. If not tomorrow. And a friend, an actual friend offered somewhere in Scotland. Have you ever been?

( She needs to dole out the information carefully and not bombard him. )

[He shrugs because he has been there before. It's not hard to visit other countries in Europe.]

Once or twice.

[But that's not the important thing.]

What about the hunters?

The hunters are just beginning, and with everything you inherited, we'll be cloaking your whereabouts. I think if we go back with him we would have more resources. You'd be safer. And you could learn from a coven with roots in your ancestry.

[He swallows hard as he considers it, trying to see where his feelings line up with what Bonnie wants. They don't match. But that's mostly because the thing he wants to do the most is go and burn them all to the ground.]

They need to pay for what they did.

What we need to do is learn more about them before, yes, stopping them. And hopefully dismantling how widespread this has become. Their lives were lost here, too. And more will be if you try anything.

( He himself could die. )

[He sets his jaw because this doesn't feel right, going into hiding. It doesn't feel like it's honoring them.

But he's a kid and he can at least recognize that he's not in any capacity to be making decisions right now, so he nods.]

I want your input. I do. I'm not going to hide you away and throw away the key. But, you will be safe.

And no matter where we go, we will have to go. The power vacuum in the coven could backfire. There's already dissension.

[Yeah, this is not good. There's a restless energy as he pushes up off the bed, moving to the window to look down on the street.]

I could name Eliza as the acting head of the coven. She was on Isaac's side but she'll pull everyone back in.

[He's not strong enough to hold them together, but Eliza will until he's ready.]

For now, yes. You're still the head. She's still going to consult with you, and ask what you think should be done. You inherited everything.

[He nods slowly, before running a hand over his face.]

How long do we have before we leave? I should be here for the funeral rites.

However long you need, but, also not more than two or three days. We need to keep moving. Do you - need help with the arrangements?

( She's planned funerals before. It happens when you come from Mystic Falls. )

Yeah. Yeah, that'd be good.

[Danny's never had to plan any. And now he has to have three. He glances back over his shoulder to look at her.]

( She nods, her lips forming a smile that doesn't reach her eyes. )

I'm not going anywhere, Danny.
