[The tires squeal against the dirt as Malia pulls the car to a stop, and the bayou is tense and on alert. The older wolfs have set up shop at the head of things, some of them in wolf form, some not, and it's clear they're ready for an attack - they just don't know where it's going to come from.
Malia goes over to talk to the wolf who seems to be in charge in the absence of Hayley and Aiden.]
Allison, this is Lisina. Lisina, Allison. We don't know where Monroe's coming from next but we wanted to check in and see how things are going.
["Not the first time, not the last. And I think you know as well as I do that it never really stops." Lisina's lived in New Orleans a long time. She knows the kind of trouble drawn when Klaus Mikaelson calls the city his home.
"We'll hunker down and wait it out, just like we always do."
Malia nods.]
You should start moving the kids at least further into the bayou. The deeper they're in, the safer they'll be.
( Whether it has to do with Monroe, or someone else, an existence of hunkering down is not an existence and living with that danger is not acceptable. If Allison had her way, she'd make it so that the werewolves in the bayou never have to worry again. )
["How old's Hope now? Eighteen? So maybe three or four years ago. These old Nazi vamps Klaus pissed off during the war came through, determined to do a werewolf purge, hybrids and tribrids included. Add to that the Hollow situation ... it was just a mess."
She pauses, then tips her head to the side.
"Though, I will say that this is a first in the sense that the main perpetrator is not exacting some kind of vendetta against the Mikaelsons and we're all collateral damage. She just wants all of us dead."]
The Mikaelson's are at the top of a long list, with Scott McCall in tow. Her cause was born from a monster built from the fears it brewed, and those fears were stoked by my grandfather. I am sorry, on behalf of my name for what Monroe is trying to do.
( She still takes Monroe's vendetta personally. )
If you stay in hiding and go deeper in the bayou -- we will end this. I promise, Lisina. Is there anything you need, anything at all?
[She sees a lot. The bayou is set up to be a small collection of houses and cabins, a lot of them clearly home made with a lot of care. There's a pair of docks that stretch out to the water, and for now, it seems that things are quiet.
But Malia isn't looking towards the water. Instead, she's focused to the something out in the trees. If she had animal ears right now, they'd be twitching (17).]
( She tries to think it through. They wouldn't come by river, only land. Or, would they come by both. And then she notices Malia's attention span problem. )
[It's not anything that she's heard, it's more what she senses, a brush of anger and anxiety that doesn't belong to any of the wolves. She glances to the families still packing up and she shakes her head.]
You heard her. Take to ground, or push further into the bayou now. Malia and I will take care of this. Don't come out until we tell you it's okay.
( Granted, she accounts for the fact that Lisina or another bayou wolf might want to join in the fight, if it's a fight, but, Allison lets her off the hook. This is why she's here. )
[There are a few, enforcer-type wolves who stay, intending to stand their ground, but Allison's greatest advantage involves being able to see more of the field.]
[Top of a cabin would probably be her best bet. There are a couple that would provide some cover from the tree line, camoflauging her from wandering eyes.
Malia, in the mean time, pulls off to one of the nearby cabins and stands on the porch, keeping her out of view of anyone that may be approaching. The entire space goes quiet, until the sound of boots on the ground start to reach their ears.]
[The hunters move in slowly, but as they approach, Malia inches backwards, ducking behind the cabin door which is now open. The small squad is armed to the teeth. They have one hand on their heavy artillery strapped across their chests. They sweep through the now vacant middle space, eyes roaming the scene but not catching sight of the werecoyote or the huntress on the roof.
Thinking they're alone, or at least the wolves are hiding, the leader comes to a stop and turns to the rest of the group.
( (1) she can't hear them, but she sees them and that's enough for her. They sent what looks like a small squad in. She and Malia, and the wolves that have stayed behind, they can take five hunters.
This is not a time to be delicate or squeamish. She can immobilize before outright killing them, so she fires one arrow and then a second. One (the 2) flies past the soldier leading the squad, between them, not even hitting the ground, but the second (18) she aims for his hand. Sorry, not sorry, bro. )
[The leader screams in pain as the arrow pierces his hand, and the remainder of the hunters sweep up, trying to find the direction the arrows came from. It takes time, but one of them does spot her as she ducks down to the other side of the roof (16 vs. 17).
"It's Argent! She's on the roof!"
They all turn to aim and shoot, but before they can all get a shot off, Malia enters the fray, reaching for the two towards the back. The first's head collides with one of the support beams on the porch and stumbles back dazed (12 vs. 6), but the other manages to slip her grip (12 vs. 20) and shoot at the were coyote, but the shot just grazes her (6 vs. 6).
In the meantime, the two remaining take shots at Allison, though at a disadvantage because of her position on the roof (10, 2).
One of the wolves slips into view and goes for the injured one, teeth bared and aiming for the throat (11 vs. 17). The leader manages to get an arm up to protect his throat but they both are tackled backwards to the ground.]
( Allison ducks back, but one of the hunters' arrows makes contact, slicing past her shoulder as it zings while the other flies past her (2, 8).
Recovering, she goes running, sending two arrows back at the two hunters who found and targeted her (1, 18). Her goal is to leap down like the former gymnast she is, but that's her next turn. )
[The first arrow goes wild, but the second doesn't, striking home on the shoulder of the second (4). He's forced to drop his weapon as a result, and is unable to take a shot this turn. It's not helped by the fact that another wolf comes out of the bayou, and takes a run at him (11 vs. 6).
His friend is there to back him up, however, and tries to take a shot at Allison (11) before she comes down off the roof.
The wolf and leader continue to tangle, as the wolf attempts to get at his throat again (2 vs. 11), while the leader manages to pull a dagger with his good hand and tries to stab the wolf in return (5 vs. 4) and the wolf snarls as a splash of blood appears on his fur.
In the meantime, Malia is still tangling with her two, who are forced to abandon their ranged weapons for close combat. She swipes out at each of them, and the first abandons their attacks when Malia's claws dig into his neck and come back red (20 vs. 6). The second gives a shout in response and tries to come at her, but she's ready and repeats the same motion (20 vs. 2) and more blood sprays across her clothes.]
( Allison's (4) makes it no surprise that as she drops down, she can't defend herself, taking an arrow to the shoulder. With a dex check of (19), Allison manages to roll to the ground, breaking part of the arrow in the process. She will have to worry about that later.
Coming back up, she steadies her bow and grabs two more arrows. It's still Allison vs these two hunters (20, 16) at one of their shoulders and the other's ankle. )
[Both of hers hit their mark (10, 2), and the one also currently being attacked by the wolf stumbles from the arrow in the ankle, and the wolf lunges for his throat (14 vs. 5), stifling whatever scream of pain comes next.
The one taking a hit to the shoulder falters, but switches for a pistol and tries to take another shot at Allison (4), but his aim is off from his off-hand.
The leader is still going one on one with the wolf. He takes another jab with the knife, but misses (15 vs. 18). The wolf then chomps into his shoulder, and he screams (14 vs. 3).
Malia's two guys drop but one of them manages to squeeze the button on one of those hyper sonic signal flares and all the wolves immediately howl in protest, hands coming up to cover their ears.
It's loud enough that it covers the boots of approaching back up.]
( (12) has Allison dropping down, missing the shot at her. She's up then, throwing her long bow down and drawing her crossbow. She points it at everyone hurt, and then in the direction of the approaching footsteps.
She weighs whether a shot to whatever button it is will stop the sound.
Instead, she decides to take up her mantle. She is Allison Argent after all. )
