[But she will grab the handles and start wheeling them.]

( She's joking. )

We don't have much time on them, keep your eyes open.

[Elena nods, keeping her eyes straight ahead and trying to find one of the back exits to the garage. As they keep walking, Elena's phone begins to buzz and an announcement comes over the loudspeaker:

"Doctor Gilbert, please call extension 227. Doctor Gilbert, extension 227."

She grits her teeth and keeps moving, pushing Katherine ahead of her. She does, however, slide her phone out of her pocket and when she sees it's Dean, tosses it into Katherine's lap.]

Answer it? Please?

( One hand on her gun, Katherine brings it to her ear glibly. There is a tense exchanging of words where Katherine does indeed confirm she is there, too, and they are on their way to her car. No, Damian isn't in town, she was on another job. Dean, she has this, let her have this. Maybe focus on the brother you're so obsessed with or your full frontal scenes in your book series.

She's read them.

And she hangs up. )

He's worried. Third floor.

( They find the right elevator and after the doors close, Katherine steps out of the stirrups, revealing her gun again and putting her coat back on. )

I always expected the Salvatore's to be in your speed dial when danger struck. Guess we both grew up.

( Everyone make spot checks as the doors open. Katherine has a (17). )

Well, Stefan's in Scotland, so ... not exactly the most useful right now.

[She pauses as the doors open and starts to glance around in the dark (19).]

I'll call Damon once we're in the car though.

( Katherine's (11) leaves her disgusted that the Salvatores are even a factor, but she supposes if Elena and her are on some list, than so must they be.

Elena can surmise the three people in tactical gear with guns approaching what must be Katherine's car are there for them. Two of the guards turn back with the ding of the elevator (19, 19), but one's too busy looking inside the car (11).

Elena can hit the door close button at any time. Or they can fight! )

[Oh yep she is definitely hitting that door close button. And once it closes, she starts smashing her fingers all over the parking lot buttons. The elevator starts to descend again, and she glances back to Katherine.]

How's your car jacking skills?

[shreds]

( Elena pulls a move a child would make, but, she's impressed. )

They might surprise you.

( Carjacking it is. But, she'll miss her arsenal and her car, Elena. )

[Would you rather risk their death trying to fight the hunters for her car, or steal a car and come back for the arsenal later?

She waits until they go down two floors on the parking garage, before heading off into the damp area that his hopefully hunter free (20 for perception).]

( Steal than risk.

The area is hunter free! But, she can make a listen check. Katherine hurries to a car closest to the elevators, looking for a model she can actually get into. )

Go around to the other side.

( Approaching something vintage, she pulls out a small kit. One of her tools expands as she slips it inside the window and shimmies it, concentrating (17). The lock pops. )

[Whether it's the echoing of the garage or just the tense-ness of the situation, Elena's hearing isn't picking up much (9). She does as she's told, slipping around the other side of the car, and when the lock pops she waits for Katherine to open the door before sliding inside.]

( Breaking in is one thing, hot wiring is another. The intensity ratchets up and Elena misses what could sound like hoofbeats, but are really voices and footsteps heading down the parking garage stairs.

It doesn't matter because a (14) brings the car to life in Katherine's hands, always a being of ingenuity, but one that's more practical these days. She's a survivor. )

Buckle up.

( Flipping the car around, she speeds downward.

As they pass the corner stairwell, the door bursts open and their assailants take a shot at them. But, their natural (1) has the door slamming heavily back at them like they're in a cartoon. Katherine's (15) would've easily dodged any hilarious but haphazard attempt as she and Elena approach the first level and the little pay station. )

Do I need a card?

[Elena pats down her pockets for her parking pass and passes it her way.]

Wave it over the console, it should open.

[They don't charge the doctors for parking, at least.]

( It's the little things as she slows down enough to roll down the window and sway the pass across, the gate coming to life. She idles, speeding through as soon as she can, tires screeching.

And she heads to the left, trying to get as much distance between them and the hunters as she can. )

[Elena will stay quiet, watching as they navigate through the streets and keeping an eye out for something, but she's a little flustered and rolling terribly (6).]

Where do we go? I probably can't go home. If they know where I work, they probably know where I live.

( Even Katherine's vigilant (17) doesn't yield any results. The hunters scrambling on foot kept them at bay for now. )

I don't know, Elena. If they know where you live then they might know where I'm staying. If they break into my car, they'll probably find one of my room keys. So, that's out.

So ... out of town?

[She pulls out her phone, and seeing the missed calls, she pulls up Dean's number and puts her phone to her ear.]

Maybe Dean has some ideas.

Sure, ask a Winchester.

( She says that under her breath.

Dean, in the car with Sam, Allison and Lydia answers on speakerphone at less than one ring.

"Elena," )

Hey. I'm okay. Katherine and I got out of the hospital without any trouble, but I don't think I'm going to be able to go home.

[She's not asking him to tell her where to go, but she's kind of asking him to tell her where to go.]

[cholesterol]

Katherine?

( Watch him just give the entire car a look with that, but it's not the point. If Katherine is safe in this scenario, Elena is safe. So, there's that. )

They got to you at the hospital. ( But, she's okay. ) Don't go home. Anything that's public knowledge is fair game. ( But, to that he does look at Sammy, figuring what isn't. ) What about the bunker.

["That could work. No one would be looking for her there."

Elena nods because bunker. Yeah, that sounds fine. Not depressing at all that once again she's running for her life.]

Where is it?

[cholesterol]

Kansas. Sammy'll send you the coordinates. You leave 'em behind?

( Are you safe? )

Far as we can tell, yeah. It doesn't look like they followed us out of the hospital.

[At least as far as she can tell.]

Are you heading there now?

[cholesterol]

Yeah. We have Allison and Lydia. If they're on that list, too, then they can't go back, either.

( So much for all of their new Mystic Falls lives. )

( Be careful. The usual. But, he's not getting sappy on the phone in front of his brother and the girls. Also, he doesn't do sappy. So, he hangs up. Bonnie's number flashes next! Elena, you're so popular. )

[And when she hangs up she sees a missed call from Bonnie and sends her a text that she's alright. She then pulls up the directions when Sam sends her the coordinates.]

Looks like we're going to Kansas.
