| 75 You glow with bright light in a 30 foot radius for the next minute, anything within 5 feet of you is blinded
( Elijah and Cami have retired to the rooftop bar of their luxury building. The drinks were abysmal, so Cami compelled the bartender to go on an extended break. Elijah makes a better drink. No one is surprised.
The light is faint at first, the group laughing about something or another before one by one they all watch it grow brighter and brighter, expanding. )
What do you make of that?... Should we?
( Elijah makes the executive decision, pulling Cami over the bar and taking cover. The light travels over the bar, into them and keeps traveling, pulsating into the night leaving them all crouched.
Elijah opens his eyes first, the bright white still gathered around his eyelids. )
Are you alright? There seems to be a lingering effect on my vision.
( That, or Elijah now grows as bright as that light, if not brighter. Cami, don't turn... )
[She doesn't turn. She does, however, catch Elijah's reflection in the glass door not far form her, because it's hard to miss the bright glowing person behind her. Turning around to verify seems like a bad idea, so she just keeps her eyes forward and points to the reflection.]
I don't know. You guys always seem to know everything.
[You're ancient. And she means that with love. Her partner is also ancient, so maybe she's into that.]
That was always a general mythology thing. But like ... God became the burning bush because viewing his real face would kill you. Same thing with Zeus and why he was always seducing women as animals.
[But who knows, maybe he was just into that, which. Gross.]
[That's a plan of attack she can get behind. She reaches into her pocket to pull out her phone and see if a text will send: Something turned your brother into a giant magical glowball. Help?]
( Kol is focusing on Bela not breaking an ankle at the moment, but he feels the vibration in his back pocket. He will get to you shortly.

Bela insisted I become familiar with the city's make-up, insisting that knowing my surroundings and how to navigate was integral to surviving, even as a vampire. ( (18) ) I would bet a large sum of money on the origin point of this phenomena being New York University or a subsequent burrow.
[She's not just going to give out to that info to some rando who's name she totally should have checked on the caller ID. The info probably wouldn't have been helpful anyway.]
[It's kind of weird to hear a thousand year-old vampire using the phrase "linked up" but that's neither here nor there, and she doesn't intend to derail him so much he catches on.]
Well, sort of. I'm Lizzie's roommate at NYU. So when she introduced me to her sister, I met Hope too. She's great. We've been getting along like a house on fire. Without actually setting a house on fire.
[She's just going to keep dragging this stall out for as long as possible until either Josie wakes up or Hope reappears ... or Bonnie takes the phone from her.]
I don't think trapping me into incriminating myself is a great way to start off our step-niece and step-uncle relationship here.

I can't say I've ever personally encountered radiation, but I don't believe this is how it presents itself.
