("Must be useful, having that research at your hands." He remembers trying to help Lydia learn what she is. How he only learned what he was after the fact. There wasn't a lot of lore out there about Hellhounds. He has opinions on that lore being accessed by hunters, but Sam's reputation proceeds him. At least.
Scott meets her smile with one of his own, holding the door open wider to let them all in.
"Happy Thanksgiving," he says. When Davina steps inside, he gives her a kiss, before giving Josh and Aiden hugs, each. He's feeling the love this Thanksgiving. )
Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for the invitation. My parents don't know I'm alive and the wolves prefer I don't horn in on holidays.
( And usually, he's fine with that. They accept him in the bayou regularly. It's just the traditions that they're wary about. And they're still recovering from Allison's "death," and the hunter assault.
They never seem to get that it means I'm usually skipping holidays, but what can you do?
[Aiden's not bitter. Having a quiet Thanksgiving with just Josh and Davina, maybe Vincent, is probably a much better use of his time than wrassling with the wolves in the Bayou.]
Still, thank you for inviting us. I've heard interesting things about Beacon Hills.
[Sam hesitates, because he knows he's stepped in it a little, but he can offer: "Lydia mentioned something about not having a lot of information to work with. If you want me to see what I can find, I'd be happy to."
It might make a good way of smoothing things over. Malia will throw him a bone when she adds: "David called him a Cŵn Annwn and did not elaborate." She will say that David still owes Parrish a favor that they could use for more information but why spend that when Sam could get it for them for free.]
We do a lot of holidays with each other, or, when he's okay with it, with the vampires. Or, when they are, the witches. Or, sometimes just with each other. Oh, and Vincent. We went on one cruise once. Neither of us liked being stuck with no way off anywhere.
( You give and you take New Orleans sociopolitical climate with the factions.
"There are a lot of animal attacks here, it's true. And some unexplained phenomena," Scott says. It estranged him from his dad. Almost estranged Stiles from his. Lydia's mom probably couldn't care less.
Parrish watches Sam's hesitation, but wait for the answer.
"For nothing?" he asks Sam, knowing David owes them, too. He has the same line of thinking as his... as Malia. )
Melissa would like to interrogate politely chat with both of the recruited significant others, but they can do that better over mashed potatoes and turkey, especially since it would be a lot of me talking to myself. But as Sam turns to go help, his phone buzzes and he looks down at the name with a swallow.
This is probably not a social call.]
Sorry, I have to take this. I'll be right back.
[And he steps back out onto the front porch to take the call. And because he's hoping this is a simple solve:]
Hey, Ezra. What's up?
[Please say you're calling because his brother's being obnoxious and Caroline has compelled him into doing something stupid.]
( Allison gives him a look as everyone starts to ladle onto their plates, but, she knows Sam will tell her when the time comes. )
Normally, I'd start with, I have another job for you, but I know your brother's helping with the consequences of your last. ( And he's been there, personally. It's been a rough transition. ) But, before you say it, just know, you're the closest to the next bodies, the Slayer castle was attacked and lost real numbers, and we have about a forty-eight hour window. Also, the Gauntlet's been thrown. Like, really. So, we're kind of all behind the 8-ball. Okay. Now, you talk.
[Dean texted him about Scotland. He had been driving at the time, but he knows enough about that end of things, and he probably shouldn't be surprised that that was the opening shot of the actual Gauntlet.
Things are probably going to be getting a lot messier from here on out.
He rubs his eyes briefly because this was not what he needed on top of his out of practice holiday manners and sighs.]
Violence. Apparently, Wallace and Corsair don't take this lightly, so Rusty says whoever you pull together, they should be able to fight. ...Expect the unexpected. More of the same, but no failsafe repeats so you don't have to worry about the dead coming back to life.
Alright. I'm four hours out from the Muir Woods as it is, so maybe we can head out tonight and track down the bodies in the morning. I'll let you know once we decide.
[And with that he will say his goodbyes before hanging up and heading back into dinner, locking eyes with Allison while wearing his sorry that was work face.]
( Dinner is enjoyable and Melissa doesn't pry too much into the visiting significant others, probably because Sam seems like something is preoccupying him.
She volunteers Sam and her for dish duty, to give them a little time alone.
She turns the sink on to drown out some sound, you know, and gets to work, standing close to her boyfriend. )
Isaac is okay. They lost - an entire class of slayers. It was a hit. I have a call tomorrow to discuss what to do from here. And, to learn all I can about this Ivory Tower.( But, if Ezra called. ) Did Scotland have to do with the Inner Circle?
According to Ezra, Wallace and Corsair, members of the Inner Circle, are the ones who put the Tower up to taking on the Slayers. And naturally, the Slayers are going to punch back. Ezra is going to meet with Rusty, but the bodies for these two are in the Muir Woods. Since I'm the one closest ...
( she pulls a plate she was about to give him back toward her, almost comical if the implication weren't so dire. )
He asked you. Two more bodies. ( she stiffens. ) And did he say anything about the last time he sent you and your brother and Elena Gilbert off the find the last ones? Elena's parents will never be the same, and they could've been possessed, Sam. I don't want to create more pawns for their game.
( but, despite what she thinks, she reluctantly hands the dish over. )
[He takes the dish from her, before exhaling with a nod.]
I know. And I got some vague warnings but not enough to really know what's going to be waiting there. But they're going after Wallace and Corsair in two days, so this needs to be done now.
[Unfortunately.]
I'll probably leave once we're done here, sleep closer to the woods and then head in tomorrow.
( She's not asking Lydia again, but bringing it to the table means anyone could be involved. Including her. Including Parrish. Malia. She nods.
They finish their task before assembling everyone in the living room, including Melissa.
She explains that Sam got a call from someone they've been helping, someone connected to the attack on Scotland. She lays out what happened in New Mexico and with the first bodies - and Damian and Katherine still on the run. She explains the danger, that they don't know what they'll be walking into, but that there's a time table attached. They have 48 hours. If they don't do this, and the Slayers and the people helping them take out Wallace and Corsair, they'll jump into the awaiting bodies. And they may never be found. It's do or die and now or never.
We're hoping that some of you might come as back up, but we'd understand if you said no.
["I am out. I have already done my witch murder time," Lydia nods. "But I could do some research and see what I can find about the woods?"
"Same," Malia chimes in. "About being out, not about volunteering myself for homework." No one wants Malia doing research.
Aiden looks at his husband, then he looks at Davina, then back to her husband again. Because he can see Davina weighing her options, and are they really going to let Davina go off with a strange pair of hunters alone in the middle of the woods?]
Please. We have a few hours, and then the drive, anything you find could be of help.
( Josh looks at his husband, and then Davina.
"Scott, you're going, aren't you?"
"I have to," Scott says. "Allison's been through enough and they need more people. More's better than less." And he'll turn to Davina. "I know we should probably talk about this together..."
That lingers as her father speaks up.
"I'm going," Chris says, standing in the foyer, but listening besides Melissa. "My daughter faked her death the last time she went out in the field. I'd like to be able to be there to keep it from happening again," he explains, but does turn to Melissa, so she can hopefully understand.
Parrish stays silent, looking to Malia and to Lydia.
"I think it's obvious, but I'm also out," he confirms. )

Of course. We're on the same side, right?
[He makes a mental note of Cŵn Annwn, files that away for when he gets back.
Davina nods as she makes her way in. "I think the one constant in any supernatural town is animal attacks."]

"There's also this mystical convergence here. The Nematon. And, like, ley-lines. It's kind of a supernatural magnet." The entire town, Scott explains.
