[She nods and lets him go, but waits until he's gone before leaning back at her desk with a heavy sigh. It's going to be a lot of logistics to handle, for better or worse. She clears her calendar for the afternoon and prepares to dig in, making herself a list.

No matter what, all of it needs to start with Harvey Specter. So after looking up his number, she dials the phone and leans back in her seat, hoping she doesn't have to go through too many hoops with his secretary.]

Hello, my name is Josette Laughlin Parker. I need to speak to Harvey Specter.

[rehire]

( The name Laughlin lands the hardest when Donna raps on his door to say he has someone on the line. She overhears his secretary and beats her to buzzing him. It's more important, a, than a buzz - time sensitive, but, also, he doesn't need her name floating around the office.

Donna fills in her blanks. He tells her to come inside and listen in. After she lets the glass door shut and joins him, Harvey. )

Josette Laughlin Parker, this is Harvey Specter and our Chief Operating Officer, Donna Paulson.

Mr. Specter. I just had a conversation with Ezra Adin-Gainor. He suggested that I talk to you about a book we may need for a particular ... project we happen to be working on?

[She's not sure how safe it is to communicate on this line. But she figures given who she mentioned, she might have dropped enough clues that he'll know what she means.]

I wasn't aware he had passed that project off. By any chance, was he with his husband?

( He needs to get to the bottom of who's involved. He thinks he knows the answer. )

No. I got the impression that David had already ... returned to headquarters, so to speak. And not in a good way.

[She doesn't know if David is alive or dead but Ezra seemed determined to reach the end of this road.]

Ezra indicated to me that the book would assist us in finishing up the secondary prong of the project. The one involving ... burial rites?

[rehire]

Yes, one of our clients, their time is coming due. ( A host of them under the same umbrella. ) He recruited you for funeral arrangements, then. Les funérailles à Paris.

He did. He said there would likely be wards on what we need, and you would have the access information required to get it.

[What she's expecting: Harvey to hand over the code information so she can pass it to Bonnie to go get it before she returns to the states to help. She hasn't discussed it with Bonnie yet, but they've been trying to break this curse together for so long. She can't imagine Bonnie would say no.

What she's going to get? Remains to be seen.]

I have that access. But, I can't just pass on my clients' last rites. There are contracts to sign and logistics that would best be gone over in person. Where are you located, Josette?

( He's just going through the motions, he will relent. )

Mystic Falls, currently. But I will be in New York next week if that would be easier.

[She's coming to see Lizzie off before she flies to London, and taking advantage of her already having a reason to be there seems smart.]

It will give me some time to arrange things on my side as well.

[rehire]

I think we should meet in person. Go over the flower arrangements, understated, of course, the coffin type - location.

( Paris. If you catch his drift. He looks up at Donna. She catches it, too. )

I'll be arriving next Tuesday evening. I can come by your office Wednesday morning?

[That will give her time to get things settled before she meets Lizzie and Alice for lunch.]

[rehire]

I'll have my secretary mark it in my calendar.

( And that's probably that. )

[She hangs up the phone, takes a breath, and moves on to WhatsApp. Bonnie next, she thinks, then she'll get her siblings involved.]

Do you have a sec to talk?

[She hopes this isn't an imposition, but she and Bonnie have been working to break the Gemini curse for years. She hopes that she'll be willing to help.

Hey, Jo. I have a few loose ends to tie up here, but, give me a half an hour?

How did you know Danny, Isaac, and I were approached on one of the double decker buses?

I didn't, but now I'm curious as to what you've been up to.

Give me a ring when you're free. I'll be around for a bit.

( And about forty-five minutes later, and with a hand from an unnamed vampire ally, Bonnie sends Isaac back with Danny and Eliza, preferring to walk back, herself. And, possibly have a sensitive conversation.

Ring ring, Jo's phone. )

[And she will answer quickly, placing her phone to her ear.]

Hey, Bonnie. Everything okay?

Tip top, ( Worst fake accent ever. ) or whatever they say here. Everything's okay. Has the Gauntlet spread to Mystic Falls?

( she assumes if Jo is calling... )

No. Well, not yet or ... more accurately not exactly. I just had a visit from Ezra Gainor.

[Which she doesn't know if Bonnie has had a lot of contact with, but she does know that Bonnie's been spending time with his husband on occasion.]

He says that dealing with the final group of bodies for the Inner Circle may be the key to breaking the Gemini Curse.

[moralitypolice]

( She Facetimed him once, but mostly, she's dealt with his husband. But, she knows what they're all involved in, so she braces herself for what Jo might say next. )

He said it may?

He had more conviction, but he didn't have any proof. The proof is in a book that his husband has but he did not have the book with him. I have to now go to David's lawyer and get him to pass the book to us. Which brings me to why I called.

[This is a very roundabout way of telling the story.]

The book is in Paris. I cannot go to Paris right now, as I have a feeling that if this is true, the Colony is going to be watching my movements very closely. I'm meeting with Harvey Specter next week, but can you meet him in Paris to take custody of it and see what it says?

[moralitypolice]

Harvey.

( David's lawyer. She's heard mixed things about him. and that is a roundabout way of telling the story. )

Why now. If he had the answer to this - Jo, we've been searching for years -- ( She stops herself. ) I can meet him in Paris.

Thank you. And given the implications ... I can see why David's been hesitant to simply hand it over.

Ezra also said something about needing a coven, and I'm thinking the more magic we can get on our side, the better. I'm going to reach out to my siblings and see if they have any additional contacts, but if you have any friends you think would be willing to help us, I would appreciate it.

Considering how the other missions went with destroying the bodies, I'm going to be brutally honest with my friends, but, I think the witch world will want to squash that generation of the Colony. So. I'm on it.

( She thinks Freya would want in and Freya has years of contacts. )
