( That seems to blow his mind and he asks if Waller was his real last before Eliot focuses on what's important.
"You know, your boyfriend's got quite the reputation," he says, accepting the beer. He's between nodding to Scott with respect and enrolling him in summer school. Better to the point! "Yeah. Romanian military. Hired by the Romani. Gauntlet's bringing everyone out of the woodwork. Romanians ever make a play for NOLA?")
[Scott and Sophie's conversation fades to the background because the narration does not know anything about jazz but Sophie probably does so they're just gonna chat.]
So do I.
[Have a reputation, that is.
But she'll leave it at that and address the actual question.]
Not in my lifetime, but in comparison to the rest of the city, my lifetime is pretty short. The Mikaelsons kept us pretty insulated, but I don't know all the people who tried to challenge them.
( dual narration had the same thoughts. dual narration for the win. )
I wouldn't worry. These attacks are short-lived until the power vacuum is sealed. It's probably safest to keep you all together. Any other big ticket witches in this city?
[She is the big ticket witch, if they're honest, because she's a Mikaelson.]
She's surrounded by her siblings normally so she's not an easy target but she did tell me she was working on a relevant project so ... maybe.
["Upgrade that to yes. I will also take one of those." Vincent takes a beer, and sighs. "Just got off the phone with Marcel. He'll deal with the Romanians at my place after he finishes cleaning up at Rosseau's. Apparently Eva called because a gaggle of witches tried to take out Freya."
Davina nods.]
She's okay?
["Of course she is. She's Freya. And apparently she had help. Some new vampire in town and she left with him after."
Davina snorts.]
Glad Eva still knows the relevant gossip to share.
Apparently new vampires in town are a dime-a-dozen.
( Scott joins the proceedings now that they've moved back to the kitchen.
"Glad Freya's okay. And she had help. Lucky break," he says, sipping his wine. Oh. Everybody has beer. Not everyone has to drink the same thing. "Should we worry about another vampire in town? Was Marcel expecting him?")
Cami mentioned something about her and Klaus having plans to have dinner with Stefan Salvatore.
[So it may not be a completely unknown vampire. Freya would know Stefan, but they're hearing all of this through Eva so hard to say one way or another.]
Maybe it was him or maybe his brother followed him from Mississippi.
["You know, of all the friends I've made, I haven't had the pleasure of knowing either of the Salvatores." Sophie will also join them, and will stick with wine.
Davina is also having wine, so it's really just the boys with beer.]
("So, I didn't meet-meet them, but Lydia said they were enigmatic. We were more focused on the Winchesters," whom he sees as real allies now, but still keeps one eye on. )
Ran afoul of Stefan, once, but didn't know him. He's the quieter brother. Padded resume, though. I thought you knew everyone. ( To Sophie. )
I know of a lot of people and I do know of them, but we always seem to just miss each other. I came to Chicago after Stefan had absconded, I left New York just before Damon arrived. And I've never been to Mystic Falls.
[She's heard it's bad for vampires, generally speaking. A whole church full of them got stuck in a tomb for a century and a half. No thank you.
Davina shrugs. "Stefan came to town once to try and help Klaus. I didn't meet him then but I was a little busy breaking Klaus' sireline."]
( The narration wants it known, he was right there. It's probably easy to forget. Also, nobody in this room would know that. Sophie would probably like both brothers for various reasons. )
I heard a rumor Klaus' sireline was jail broken, but I thought it was all talk.
If someone got lucky enough to take him out, everyone turned by his bloodline would be just fine. But I try not to advocate for it anymore, as it would make Cami very sad.
[It's clearly one of the reasons why she likes him. Her relationship with the Mikaelsons is a lot more complicated, but they're trying to be better by each other on both sides.]
They actually are a lot better than they used to be. Hope really changed a lot for them.
[Sophie nods, but Davina can speak for herself and she will.]
I'm the last Harvest girl.
[For many reasons, but the biggest one is that it's no longer needed. Vincent nods. "The original way we were drawing on our ancestors, it was like we were a parasite on their spirits. We were anchors on them, and they were never able to find peace."]
But fortunately there was a way to fix it.
[There's a small hesitation because she and Scott haven't really covered this yet.]
One of the times I died, they consecrated me to the ancestors in an attempt to bring me back. It didn't work, not that time anyway, but with Vincent on the outside and me on the inside, we were able to dismantle the spell holding them there and set all of those witches free. We still practice ancestral magic, but it's much ... healthier now.
( Scott frowns. One of the times she's died? She's died? He thought Derek had died. Almost lost Allison. And then thought he'd also lost Allison because of what everyone needed to believe.
[She gives Scott's hand a squeeze in return. They can talk about it later, after their friends are gone. She's not ashamed of it, but it's still hard to talk about.]
No, it's not. In some ways, it can be a beginning.

You singlehandedly ended an Original's sireline?

[Every vampire turned from Klaus' bloodline is still alive, or we wouldn't have half the vampire characters in this PSL. At least in theory.]

Probably one of the pieces of magic I'm more proud of. That and releasing the ancestors.
